His Generation 9/17/2017: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Pastor David G. Kincer reviews what God said to Jesus, then teaches Isaiah 53:7–8: the Lamb silent before Herod and Pilate, and the question “who shall declare his generation?” The answer is a people yet to be created—the church, a chosen generation that proclaims his praises, passes the faith on, and comes together for Jesus and one another.
Why does God come to us?
Short answer: Not just to be enjoyed—he comes to teach, answer questions, solve problems and heal. Like Mary, say let it be according to your word. Put his kingdom first and it works.
▶ 0:00 You know folks he doesn’t come for you just to enjoy him he comes to teach you answer your questions solve your problems touch your body touch your mind he’s he comes for a purpose and we have to like Mary of old she said let there be a performance of that which was spoken that’s got to be our mentality and when we do that God comes through and I can testify that I’m 74 years old and I’ve had a great life in God just doing what God asks you to do gives you a very meaningful and prosperous life both in the spirit and he supplies all your needs. I’m just telling you not only works in Bible form it works in present day form and if you put his kingdom first these things work.
Scripture in this part
Luke 1:38 (NKJV)
Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
— Luke 1:38 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:15 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
— Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:48 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is easy for Jesus?
Short answer: Isaiah 49:6: restoring God’s people is too easy—so if you’re backslidden or dry, it’s easy for God to pick you back up. He would give Jesus all nations.
▶ 0:51 We’re going to give you a quick review of what God said to Jesus remember in Isaiah 49:6 it’s too easy that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the survivors of Israel it’s too easy for you to restore God’s people I’m gonna give you the nations I’m gonna give you those who don’t believe in me all right so if you are backslidden or you are in a cold climate or you feel you know you’re dry and empty. Remember it’s easy for God pick you back up and get you back in the group don’t make it difficult God himself said it’s an easy test for Jesus can we just accept it amen don’t [unclear] get up and get in and [unclear] and I remember all nations were not discovered till 1778 so this is a prophetic word.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 49:6 (NKJV)
Indeed He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob, And to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”
— Isaiah 49:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:58Who is greater, God or Jesus?
Short answer: Jesus is God’s servant, so God is greater. Jesus sits at the right hand until his enemies are his footstool—through the day of wrath to the great white throne. He calls a seven-year tribulation unscriptural.
▶ 1:49 This is a prophetic word down to the end of the ages when God said all nations he meant all nations not the known nations he meant all nations that the known nations did not know where their South America North America and Australia in these these places then we saw in lesson two the Lord said to my [unclear] so we see he’s called a servant. Who is God’s servant. Jesus said Jesus see if you know these things nobody can trip you up with you know oneness doctrine and trinity doctrine nobody can trip you up if you know well God is saying you know who God is Jesus is whose servant God so whose greater the servant or the one served the one serve so who’s greater God or Jesus God.
▶ 2:52 And I just believe the scriptures relax. sit at my right hand till I make all enemies your footstool and we showed you that the last enemy of death is thrown into the lake of fire at the great white throne judgment and where is Jesus up into the great white throne judgment at the right hand of the father ain’t no seven-year rapture thing. that’s something [unclear] the church has heard so much they believe it and it’s not scriptural at all they can’t prove to you in the Bible that they’re seven years of tribulation at all they do some crazy thing over in Daniel and is just totally bogus. Are you there but we keep hearing it we believe it we keep hearing it here and in here we believe what we keep hearing without going to the scriptures and finding out God made me a little different I had to know myself.
▶ 3:51 All right as the Barnes’s know they lived with me I could study the Bible for 10 to 12 hours a day and [unclear] yes I got into this book I studied this book and I got to know things from the book all right now. Jesus is also still at God’s right hand we found during the day of wrath and we don’t know how many years that is there’s a season of wrath coming he doesn’t tell us how many years it is but just for your knowledge God said he’s going to be at my right during the time of wrath all the way up to the great white throne judgment and the real coming of Christ got it. Church this is good stuff it may rub your past doctrine wrong but you need to grow up you need to go to the scriptures and prove me wrong.
Scripture in this part
Psalm 110:1 (NKJV)
The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
— Psalm 110:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:58 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What did Jesus ask for?
Short answer: The nations, by the church becoming one: don’t take them out of the world, but make them one that the world may believe. He says the Bible is a book of truth, not a book of faith.
▶ 4:51 If you dare. ask of me my son now he calls him his son called him his Lord called him his servant called him a Lord Lord of the church and called him [unclear] so he’s Lord of heaven and earth and now he calls him a son and he calls him a king in this third lesson to give you all nations ask me to give you all nations and then we went in a New Testament and Jesus did he asked the father to give him the nation’s by means of the church coming together in unity he said father I prayed that you don’t take them out of this world. Amen that’s why Jesus said I pray you don’t take them out of this world but you make them one so that the world can know and believe that you have sent me and love them as you love me.
▶ 5:51 powerful isn’t it and what is the church in America waiting for this fantasy rapture get us out of this mess when God wants us to be a light in the mess. Hallelujah. Hmm. That is a powerful prayer and it’s going to take a God to do that God look at us today even in this room there’s all kinds of varieties of opinions which we call beliefs and it’s your beliefs it’s not God’s beliefs. When it’s God’s belief you don’t have to say the word belief you say truth. The truth is not my belief. Yes the truth is the truth and the church the Bible is not a book of faith by the way it is a book of truth they got us brainwashed to believe in the Bible is a book of faith it doesn’t say that anywhere it says it’s a book of truth and the truth set you free your faith can be in anything.
Scripture in this part
John 17:15 (NKJV)
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
— John 17:15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:33 (quoted; reference not named in the message)John 17:21 (NKJV)
that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
— John 17:21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:04 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Will he accomplish it?
Short answer: Revelation 7:9: an innumerable company from all nations, tribes and tongues. He believes all nations will see the marred servant and that Jesus appears to people today.
▶ 7:05 it was fulfilled in Revelation 7:9 when he saw an innumerable company of people in heaven from all kindred’s tribes tongues nations we see a glimpse at the end and God fulfilled what he said is he big enough to do it church the Jesus of the Bible is unlimited in his authority and power and he doesn’t need our charts and our doctrines and our beliefs to get his job done he is going to do it in spite of us and he’s going to bring us in to be part of it [unclear] now all nations shall see my marred servant this is the post crucified Christ remember all nations were not discovered back then they will see my marred servant and consider him they’re going to rethink.
▶ 8:06 Their position on this Jesus and we showed you that Jesus can appear he did before he came to earth he did after his resurrection from the dead and he appeared after his ascent unto heaven can he appear in bodily form vision form today yes and people and certain nations are seeing him by the thousands. Now you may not believe that but I challenged God in the 90s when I first read about it you know what is this stuff you know I’m used to Americans you know picking up Jesus hitchhiking and and then him disappearing on all this stuff and and you know my mind is okay here’s another bogus thing but when I researched it these people are literally having a vision and been.
▶ 9:00 In a contact with the person of Jesus and Jesus communing with them and turning them to himself very powerful and it’s biblical that he can do that so if he can do that can he appear to the nations of the world as the post crucified Christ and get them rethinking amen. But we see so little in the Bible we’re just waiting for the rapture to get out of here but God has a big plan and God the Bible says in Romans that he has the power to perform what he promised I love that verse how about you he can back up every promise he made it’s just his timing is different than ours. You know and we got to accept his timing.
Scripture in this part
Revelation 7:9 (NKJV)
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,
— Revelation 7:9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:07Why does God do signs and wonders?
Short answer: So people will believe—Moses’ hand and staff, Jesus’ miracles. He cites water turned to grape juice for communion in Indonesia.
▶ 9:55 We also saw that he could they could see him in signs and wonders why did God do signs and wonders in the Old Testament and the new so the people would believe only God can do supernatural things Moses hand turned to leprosy and back to normal and a staff to a snake because God said he wanted Israel to believe. Jesus said I’ll do I do signs and wonders that you might believe and these people that say signs and wonders are not for today they’re taken out a very powerful expression of God. When God does a miracle a divine healing or or like in Indonesia he turned their water into grape juice so they could have communion he didn’t need to do that they could have took water but God did it to show the Indonesians back in the 70s that he’s God amen.
Scripture in this part
Exodus 4:4-7 (NKJV)
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail” (and he reached out his hand and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand), “that they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.” Furthermore the LORD said to him, “Now put your hand in your bosom.” And he put his hand in his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, like snow. And He said, “Put your hand in your bosom again.” So he put his hand in his bosom again, and drew it out of his bosom, and behold, it was restored like his other flesh.
— Exodus 4:4-7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:09 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What happened with Tommy Hicks?
Short answer: He recounts Tommy Hicks praying for a guard and President Perón, who were healed, then preaching in a stadium where people were healed without his praying, and crowds came to Christ.
▶ 10:51 Hallelujah these things are powerful remember. Tommy Hicks went down to Argentina in the 50s and nobody [unclear] wasn’t a Billy Graham wasn’t Oral Roberts wasn’t a William Branham or none of these big names okay he went down to Argentina God told him [unclear] not to rent a stadium to get a stadium this is in the 50s and you can check me out Tommy Hicks that’s his name nobody ever heard him after that nobody heard of him before he went down Argentina and so he went up to the presidential palace Peron was president at that time how many have heard of Peron Eva Peron okay. He goes out to the presidential palace and the guard was there and a guard took his gun says what do you want and Hicks says look I come to ask the president to let me get on the radio and advertise.
▶ 11:48 Gospel meetings with healing and the gospel of message of Jesus Christ and that guard says can you heal me and Hicks says yes of course Jesus can heal you he says I got hepatitis and I’m in great pain right now and so Hicks prayed for that guy [unclear] the guy goes my pains gone he said you come back tomorrow I will get you into Peron Hicks came back the next day that guard took him into Peron Peron had a disease incurable skin disease he wouldn’t even let people take pictures of him because his skin was so deforming to look at they didn’t he didn’t want him knowing he had this skin problem and Hicks presented to him what he wanted to do and Peron had passed legislation that no religion could be on the radio tv or propagated in the country he had [unclear] he just got into power and he passed this legislation and Peron says.
▶ 12:56 Can God heal me and he said yes and Hicks took his hand prayed for him and right before the eyes of everyone in that room his skin turned to baby skin and Peron’s expression was oh my God I’m healed he stepped back and said oh my God I am healed so then Hicks had permission to advertise on the radio get on tv and whatever and he went to the stadium and says I want to use the stadium the guy says well you know it costs a lot of money said no you’re gonna give me the stadium you got [unclear] empty schedule I just want an empty space and you’re gonna give me because God told me [unclear] I was gonna preach in a stadium and sure enough he talked with that guy and that guy said ok I got an opening down here you’re gonna have it for two weeks Hicks went into that stadium and the church was very small in Argentina just small groups so the first night in this big 37,000 stadium.
▶ 14:08 He had a handful of people Christians and he preached he sang and he preached and he had an altar call at the end nobody responded the next night that crowd doubled. And he sang and he preached and gave an altar call nobody responded the third night the crowds doubled again. And the same thing the fourth night on the fourth night Hicks says to the people look. You guys have been coming I give altar calls you don’t respond to Christ why are you here. one of the Argentinians stood up and says on the first night God healed me of this disease I forget what a while others begin to stand up and say why you were preaching God healed me of this God healed me of that one by one just standing up Hicks never prayed for the sick to anybody.
▶ 15:11 God just come and backed up his word so people would believe and after Hicks preached his message that night and gave an altar call almost the whole crowd came up to accept Jesus Christ and then he went on to fill that stadium and they were outside he had to go get a 70 thousand seater stadium and they still filled it and we’re outside that stadium you can read it in any history research. Folks. God does miracles today is my point don’t believe these people [unclear] miracles are here because it helps people believe. Amen and whether he does some sparsely or where he does [unclear] like he did in Argentina that’s his business the main thing is he is a healer.
What shows Jesus most?
Short answer: A changed life. The early church had Christ appearing, angels and miracles, and lived righteously. Haggai 2:9: the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former.
▶ 16:03 Amen I mean the miracle of just getting a stadium with free rent is an indication God’s involved isn’t it yeah. Anyway and we can [unclear] the righteous sons of God see we’re to be a light to the world nothing shows Jesus more than your change in your ways you were a thief you don’t steal anymore you were sexual permissiveness or homosexual or into [unclear] or whatever and you don’t do that anymore that gets people’s attention and the Bible says that he gave us power to become sons of God and the early church I showed you had this visitation they had Christ appearing didn’t they didn’t they you read the New Testament did Christ appear to Paul yeah.
▶ 16:59 Did the angels come to Peter in jail yeah come on and did they do miracles all the time they were a light yes they did absolutely were they a righteous group did they ever do you ever hear recorded that they run off with the church’s money ran off with the church secretary had to have a sabbatical [unclear] because their nerves they had a nervous breakdown do you ever read anything like that about the apostles never why God fulfilled his promise in the early church and then he said there’s going to be a falling away but the Bible says in Haggai 2:9 that the glory of the latter house shall be what greater than the former so the the power of God working in the last day church. Whenever God season is for this to happen is going to be greater than the New Testament church and remember.
Scripture in this part
Haggai 2:9 (NKJV)
‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the LORD of hosts.”
— Haggai 2:9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:38Can Jesus heal sin as well as sickness?
Short answer: Yes—like the healed leper, a healed sinner is free of that sin’s power. Go to the Healer, not a 12-step procedure.
▶ 17:57 The New Testament church even the core who were sons of God and a light to the world they had baby Christians who were having sex with their mother and and you know all kinds of things going on but the core of the church were sons of God amen. Alleluia do you remember all that was this good to go over it yes now today oh I got one more my servant shall heal all sickness and all transgressions. Jesus healed the leper did that leprosy have any remaining control power influence on that ex leper none when he heals the transgressor of sin does that sin have any more control influence or power on his life no a healing is a healing.
▶ 18:56 Hallelujah it’s just we try to work things out on our own instead of going to the healer you have a problem with sexual immorality you go to the healer get healed you don’t need psychologists trying to tell you how to conquer this thing on a 12-step procedure in a seven step procedure and a 15 step procedure you need one procedure the deliverer Jesus Christ he delivers both sicknesses and sins oh. And. That was worth coming to church for right there. But you got to go to him. We’re in a psychologists generation in America they try to go to some psychological seminar to get answers to life when Jesus is the life and not what the Bible says yes did we just read he gives us answers in his church when we assembly he’ll give us answers.
How was Isaiah 53:7 fulfilled?
Short answer: He was oppressed and opened not his mouth, as a lamb to the slaughter. Luke 23:9: Herod questioned him, but he answered nothing; Matthew 27:13–14: before Pilate he answered not one word.
▶ 20:00 Now. [unclear] today continue in Isaiah 53:7. God said to us about Jesus in Isaiah and we’re going to talk about his generation. He was oppressed afflicted yet he opened not his mouth he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter and. as a sheep before its shearer is dumb so he opened not his mouth hundreds of years before Christ came God said that to us about Jesus what Jesus would do and sure enough we go to the New Testament and find it fulfilled Luke 23:9 Herod questioned with Jesus and many words but Jesus answered him not Herod was the king over the Galilee region Pilate was the king over the [unclear] region Matthew 27:13 Pilate said to Jesus do you not hear how many things they testify against you but Jesus answered him not one word so that the governor marvelled greatly why did Jesus do that to fulfill Isaiah 53.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 53:7 (NKJV)
He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.
— Isaiah 53:7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 20:05Luke 23:9 (NKJV)
Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him nothing.
— Luke 23:9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 20:48Matthew 27:13-14 (NKJV)
Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?” But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.
— Matthew 27:13-14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 21:01Who will declare his generation?
Short answer: Isaiah 53:8: he was cut off for the transgression of my people. Those who believe he died for them proclaim his generation.
▶ 21:20 Jesus did a lot of things to fulfill the scriptures so that we know the scriptures are supernatural they are truth they are not men’s writings. But people are trying to capture our young church members minds today with just men wrote the Bible and evolution is how God created yet they are warping their minds with a bunch of nonsense. We’ve gotten away from the supernatural Jesus to psychology Jesus. And it doesn’t work it’s not working in America is it no. He was taken from prison here he is before Pilate [unclear] washing his hands took him out of prison and from the judgment he’s before the judgment seat who shall declare his generation a generation is an offspring or a class of people living in a set time period okay.
▶ 22:26 who shall declare his [unclear] read this with me who shall declare his generation that’s God talking to us and asking us that question because they’re gonna kill him who’s gonna declare who’s gonna proclaim his generation. He was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of what my people was he stricken so God answers that question in this verse do you see the answer. My people that believed that he died for them accepted it let him deliver them they are proclaiming and declaring his generation. Amen aren’t you part of that yeah yeah though Jesus died 2,000 years ago we’re still boasting about his death burial and resurrection now.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 53:8 (NKJV)
He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
— Isaiah 53:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:15 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Who is the generation to come?
Short answer: Psalm 102:18: written for the generation to come, a people yet to be created who will praise the Lord. 1 Peter 2:9: you are a chosen generation, to proclaim the praises of him who called you.
▶ 23:27 We’re going to confirm his generation Psalms 102 verse 18 this shall be written for the generation to come is the psalmist talking about a coming generation yes he’s not talking about Israel they’re the present generation he’s talking about another. Offspring of people all right a people to come got it and these people he describes who they are these people which shall be what created they’re going to be created doesn’t the Bible said if any man be in Christ he is a new creation oh. see the Bible keeps the harmony of the truth all the way through it now the people which shall be created and what are these people going to do praise the Lord how you gonna recognize him they’re gonna give praise and honor they’re gonna brag about Jesus they’re gonna declare and proclaim Jesus Christ.
▶ 24:35 Not themselves. See I would never say I’m number one Christian. Who is number one. Jesus. Jesus is number one in the truth we praise him because of what Christ did for us it’s not who we are it’s who he makes us and this was prophesied hundreds of years before it happened okay so who is this created generation first Peter 2:9 [unclear] writing to the church Peter says you are number one a chosen generation you are a royal priesthood you are a holy nation you are a special people you are you are and what should we be doing the same thing the psalmist said when he said that creation shall praise the Lord Peter who knew the Old Testament scriptures that you should show forth the what praises of him who.
▶ 25:53 Has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light you accepted his death for your death you accepted his blood that payment for your sin you accepted the message and because you accepted the message he fashioned you create you and make you into a generation that will proclaim his mighty acts and praise his name. That’s why we praise God in this church and that’s why we give you a chance to praise God singularly so you can exercise the word of God and meet him in. That good.
Scripture in this part
Psalm 102:18 (NKJV)
This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the LORD.
— Psalm 102:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 23:301 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
— 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:16How was the faith passed on?
Short answer: Psalm 145:4: one generation shall praise your works to another. Even the Catholic monks preserved the Bible; we learn from past generations rather than criticize them.
▶ 26:37 Psalms 145:4 one generation shall praise your works to another. See this chosen generation the early church passed it on to their next generation then they pass it on they pass it on they passed it on and kept passing it on to the day we got it passed on from those behind us in that right even in their failures even in their limited knowledge they kept passing on Jesus passing on the death burial and resurrection passing on the basic thing and God said in the last days knowledge shall increase we can’t knock the church in the middle ages and all that because we’re in the generation where God is increasing knowledge and we can’t go back and defame them they at least passed Jesus on to us amen and the catholic church by the way the monks kept the Bible kept writing it and kept it moving from one generation to another the catholic church really helped the Bible get to us as much as you may be against them God uses things are you there and we can’t take our knowledge today and criticize the generation in the 50s we can learn from them.
Scripture in this part
Psalm 145:4 (NKJV)
One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts.
— Psalm 145:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 26:37Did Christ die only for sinners?
Short answer: Ephesians 5:25: Christ loved the church and gave himself for it—the mystery hidden from the foundation of the world.
▶ 28:00 But we can’t criticize them. So understanding the mystery between Christ and the church that he died for Ephesians 5:25 Christ also loved the what church and gave himself for it most people think he only died for the sinner he died for the sinner but he died for the church and this is a mystery a hidden thing that most people don’t understand God’s goal from the creation with a church. No and if you don’t understand that just get my series on the mysteries of God the church was the mystery of God hidden from the foundation of the world. Are you there. this is a great mystery but I speak concerning what Christ and his church from the beginning of time God had destined for the church the people to believe in him and accept him and come together and worship him and to be used to do great things for him can I hear an amen now.
Scripture in this part
Ephesians 5:25 (NKJV)
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
— Ephesians 5:25 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 28:08Why come to church?
Short answer: Not for a mate, a concert or a holiday, but for Jesus and his people. Love God, love one another; Jesus is in his church. Come to me and I will give you rest; you are epistles read of all men.
▶ 29:09 Jesus died to raise up and create a generation that would declare his mighty acts and his praise remember he said don’t take them out of the world make them one that the world may believe and know how many [unclear] don’t want to be out now you want to be part of the nations believing and knowing all of you should have raised your hand do you understand that question. seventy five [unclear] percent of American believers do not attend church and the word church itself is the called out ones you come out from your work you come out from your home you come together and you worship and you pray and you learn his word [unclear] what the word church means if so if they do come to church it’s for their ministry they got some position so they got to be there and then they want you to come so they have somebody to minister to.
▶ 30:14 I’m just letting that sink in or they come to find a mate there’s so many Christians going from church to church trying to find a mate. Jesus is greater than finding a mate and you find him he’ll find your mate. That’s part of his package it’s amazing how we get distracted from Jesus and so there’s big churches with big singles groups [unclear] and now we got Christian dating stuff and all that which is fine but let me tell you Jesus can fulfill his will in your life if you put him first. Alleluia or we come to hear a famous speaker a musician or a singer or a mime or a drama oh.
▶ 31:07 Carmen’s gonna be down I’m going to go to church yeah or you know the Newsboys or whatever [unclear] I don’t know the names of these people but I know that the [unclear] is filled because they have the latest music groups coming at the beginning [unclear] they come to hear that music instead of Jesus and miracles they come to hear the music. Or they come on Easter Christmas and mother’s day oh mom said what can I do mom go to church with me son okay and they go through all the motions and hallelujah and we don’t see them till Christmas. Am I right yes see they don’t come for Jesus they don’t come for his people they don’t come to get questions answered they’re on Facebook answering each other’s questions when neither one of them knows anything.
▶ 32:14 it’s true things I read on the Facebook and internet I’m just appalled dummies trying to counsel dummies. They don’t go to church they don’t get into the Bible. Or they go for a wedding or a funeral they go for a wedding in a funeral and you [unclear] yes I go to church well when did you go to church well I went to church back on June 3rd well what did you do there I went to a wedding. but they act like [unclear] they act like oh yeah that’s me church member number one. Jesus wants us to what love him what is the first commandment love God.
▶ 33:07 Jesus is his son God in the flesh so we love Jesus and we love the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit is God’s spirit okay and we’ll be hitting the Holy Spirit soon. And he wants us to love our enemies. And he wants us to love his people a new commandment I give to you [unclear] he said that you love one another love the church love the members if you can’t come because you love Jesus then come to love the people be a light to them being an encouragement to them. When Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus and [unclear] Paul said who are you and Jesus said I’m Jesus whom you are persecuting.
▶ 34:00 Who was Paul persecuting the church Jesus is the church Jesus is the son of God and Jesus is in his church he lives in you amen. and we [unclear] go well if I could see Jesus you know look around you there they are. About this transcript
This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: Points to check: nations discovered till 1778; Tommy Hicks/Perón healing and stadium sizes (37,000 and 70,000); Indonesia water to grape juice in the 70s; “seventy five percent of American believers do not attend church”; Herod and Pilate’s regions. Sensitive content kept as spoken: seven-year tribulation teaching “totally bogus”; the Bible “not a book of faith”; ministers running off with church money or secretaries; Corinthian believers “having sex with their mother”; psychology and 12-step programs vs. Jesus; Facebook advice as “dummies trying to counsel dummies”; Carmen and the Newsboys drawing crowds.
