Has the U.S. Government Made Just Choices and Equal Choices?: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
In “Has the U.S. Government Made Just Choices and Equal Choices?”, Pastor David G. Kincer reads the Declaration of Independence and the Preamble of the Constitution and says government is to protect moral rights and promote, not provide, the general welfare. He teaches that the Bible’s purposes include moving us from bad government to good, equal rights for all peoples in Christ, and a just judicial system. He then lists unjust and unequal choices past and present and calls government to repent or be replaced.
What does the Declaration of Independence say about rights?
Short answer: He reads that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with rights, and says the Bible Creator is the standard of justice, and rights are the freedom to do moral things: “not the pursuit of crime.”
▶ 0:01 Okay, we appreciate you joining us in our pursuit of clarity on crucial choices. Today we will address the question: has the United States of America’s government made just and equal choices? And we will start with the Declaration of Independence. We hold these truths to be self-evident. The Declaration of Independence is the purpose for changing a government. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,” then, “they are provided by their Creator,” you notice they refer to the Bible and God, created, Creator, “with certain unchangeable rights.” So the Bible Creator is the standard of just and rights, and rights are the freedom to do moral things. “And among these rights are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” not the pursuit of crime, not the pursuit of immorality, but the pursuit of happiness. “And to protect these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”
Did the founders use the Bible as a reason to change government?
Short answer: He says they used the Bible as a purpose for changing government and referred to the Creator who gives rights people cannot change, including the right to life of a newborn baby.
▶ 1:17 So we see that they use the Bible as a purpose for changing government. They wanted their own government rather than Britain ruling over them, and they referred to the Bible and its Creator that gives us unchangeable, inalienable rights. People cannot change that. That gives us freedom to do moral things, not immoral things. And we have a right to life, to live, and so does that little baby that just came into the world; they have a right to live. They have the right of freedom to pursue happiness, to pursue, uh, work, and, and provide for their family, and do moral things. And, uh,
What is the Preamble of the Constitution for?
Short answer: He calls the Preamble an introduction and explanation of the Constitution’s purpose, and reads “We the People … to form a more perfect union” and “establish justice.”
▶ 2:14 the, the Declaration of Independence declares why we need a change of government and the purpose for changing a government. Now we’re going to look at the Constitution, and we’re going to look at the Preamble of the Constitution, which is an introductory to the Constitution and an explanation of the Constitution, and see what the purpose of the Constitution is for this new government. “We the People of the United States of America, in order to form a more perfect union,” in order to “establish justice,”
Is government supposed to promote or provide the general welfare?
Short answer: He stresses that the Constitution says government is to “promote,” not provide, the general welfare, and to secure the blessings of liberty.
▶ 3:10 in order to “insure domestic tranquility,” in order to “provide for the common defense,” and in order to “promote,” not provide, “the general welfare.” See, the explanation of the Constitution is not for government to provide the welfare; it’s to promote the welfare. “And secure,” or protect, “the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our” offspring. And so we see here that we, they wanted a perfect union in the Constitution,
What kind of union did the founders want?
Short answer: He says they wanted a unity around impartial moral behavior, a moral judicial system, and an army and police to protect moral people from the immoral and from foreign nations.
▶ 3:59 a union, a unity, around moral behavior, impartial moral behavior. They wanted to, in the Constitution, established a moral judicial system that ruled in favor of right behavior, morality. They wanted an army to ensure the domestic peace, and a police force, whatever is necessary to protect the moral people from the immoral people, or a nation that would want to come and take away our freedom and our rights. And number five, which is very important, they wanted to let the American people know
What does the Bible say about good government?
Short answer: He says one purpose of the Bible is to move us from bad government to good, as God delivered us from the power of darkness into the kingdom of His Son, and from the power of Satan unto God (Acts 26:18).
▶ 4:54 that the established government is there to promote, not provide, the general welfare, the happiness, the prosperity. They are there to promote it and protect it and ensure it, not provide it, and to protect the blessings of our freedom, to have a judicial system based on morality. Now, when we look at the purpose of the Bible, one of the purposes is to change bad government from a good one, to a good one rather, whether it’s spiritual or secular. God delivered us, the Bible says, from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom, the rulership, of his dear Son Jesus. From the power of Satan unto God, Acts 26:18 says. So the Bible’s purpose is to teach us and to transfer us from bad government to good.

to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’
— Acts 26:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:35Does the Bible teach equal rights for all races?
Short answer: From Acts 17:26 he says God made all nations of one blood, and from Galatians 3:28 and Colossians 3:11 that all, even the Scythian, are one in Christ, so even the dirty man beside him in church has equal rights.
▶ 5:50 Another purpose of the Bible is equal rights in unity. Acts 17:26: God has made of one blood all nations. All races of people, all cultures, all languages have been made of one blood, and we have, as his creation, the right. In Galatians 3:28 and Colossians 3:11, there is neither Jew nor Greek, bond or free, male nor female, foreigner, which is a person that speaks a different language, it has a different culture and a skin color, or a savage. A foreigner or a savage, the savages, the Scythian, who never washed, they drank blood, they used skulls for drinking vessels, they were just a very, uh, you know, deep, uh, horrible, nasty people. But he says all of them are one in Christ Jesus, and as God’s chosen people, put on good behavior. So this dirty, stinking guy in the church sitting beside me has equal rights when he comes to Christ. He don’t know how to wash himself, he don’t know how to do things properly, but he has equal rights in the church.

— Colossians 3:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:05How has the U.S. government treated women unjustly?
Short answer: Citing 1 Peter 2:14 on a just judicial system, he says women in the past could not vote, sit on a jury, own property if married, get higher education, or get their children in a divorce.
▶ 7:19 Another purpose of the Bible: to choose a just judicial system to protect our rights. First Peter 2:14: governors are for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of them that do well. And so the Bible tells us to choose a judicial system that will protect the rights of the moral people. Our government’s unjust and unequal choices: in the past, women could not vote, could not be on a jury, could not own property if they were married, they couldn’t get higher education, and they couldn’t get their kids in a divorce.

or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.
— 1 Peter 2:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:25How were Native Americans and slaves treated?
Short answer: He says Indians had no rights or religious freedom, were sterilized and had their children taken, and were made citizens only in 1924. He says slaves had no freedom of religion and worshiped in hush harbors.
▶ 8:06 As bad as that is, the Indians had no rights at all. They had none of the rights of the women, plus they couldn’t worship their religion, they had no religious freedom. They st-, they were sterilized to keep from reproducing. Their kids were taken from of them and put in parochial schools to brainwash them. And in 1924 they finally were allowed to be a citizen of the United States of America. And as bad as that is, slavery. Both Indians and blacks were in slavery, and they had no, the blacks had no freedom of religion, the African-American. They had to use hush harbors; they put wet quilts and stuff around an area so the sound wouldn’t go out, to worship the Lord Jesus Christ. Other than that, they had to do it in the white men’s church. And the Supreme Court and Darwin backs up this inferiority of the dark-skinned people,
What other unjust and unequal choices does he name?
Short answer: He names separate-but-equal laws and limits on Chinese immigration and property, and says today Christians are censored when they speak about Bible morals, sin and hell, and marriage has been redefined.
▶ 9:15 and they were not allowed to be citizens until 1870, and then it was equal but separate; they weren’t allowed to mix with white folks. But the Chinese, Asians, they were not allowed to migrate after 1882 until 1943, when they were allowed to migrate again back to America and become a citizen, and they could not own property till 1965. Now, folks, that’s unjust and that’s unequal. Today we got Jesus and the Bible and Christians censored in speech and press. If we want to talk about homosexuals, or executions of a murderer, uh, we want to talk about hell and Bible morals and sin, we are censored. We are forbidden by government, frowned on by government, to do these things. The family and marriage has been redefined.
How does he say government choices have hurt families?
Short answer: He cites family breakdown and abuse figures, and says printing money and inflation forced both parents to work: his father earned one dollar an hour in the ’50s and could buy a home and a new Chevrolet.
▶ 10:19 Less than 50 percent of Americans now get married. 44 percent of kids are in a one-parent home. 5 million children are abused every year, 450,000 of them sexually, and one-third of those by same-sex attackers. 500 a week in the military are sexually abused, and 500 a year in public schools are abused by the teacher, and just getting a slap on the hand. The banking system: since the institution of the Federal Reserve Bank, where America, our government, could just print money without any value, and especially since the 1965 War on Poverty, inflation and deflation has led to both mother and dad having to work to support the family. My dad in the ‘50s worked for one dollar an hour, bought a home, bought a new Chevrolet, fed, clothed and provided the medical attention for a seven-member family. Today ten dollars per hour will not buy a home, a new Chevy, pay a normal rent or medical insurance,
What is the solution for unjust government?
Short answer: He says government must admit it is wrong, repent, and enforce constitutional and Bible morality, or be replaced, as the Declaration says the people may alter or abolish it.
▶ 11:40 leaving only food and clothing and whatever. So the parent, both parents have to work to provide a normal middle-class lifestyle, and thus the children are left alone till the parents get home. We have 1.1 trillion a year federal and state welfare expenditures. Since 1965 we have three times more spent on welfare than all the wars that we’ve been in put together. The federal debt is at 18 trillion and growing. 50 percent is our tax revenue when you add all the taxes. So what is the solution? Government must, government must admit they are wrong. They need to repent from that wrong, turn from that wrong, enforce constitutional and Bible morality, or be replaced. As the Declaration of Independence says, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it and to institute a new government. Moral citizens, what are we going to do and doing to address this problem?
