God’s Word to Rebellious People: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
In this message Pastor David G. Kincer teaches from Isaiah 29 and 30 about God punishing His people and their opponents, and says believers must confront opposition to the Bible, drawing examples from Moses, Joshua, Daniel, Jesus and Paul and from church history and the Humanist Manifesto. He closes with God’s promise “in that day” to rebels who repent: He opens ears and eyes, answers their cry, and says “weep no more.”
What does Isaiah 29 say about God punishing His people and their opponents, and honoring Him with lips only? (Isaiah 29:1-13)
Short answer: He says Isaiah 29 gives “a word about God punishing the city of God, the people of God, Jerusalem, and her opponents,” both those God used to correct His people and those who just oppose God and His people. He says those who fight God and His church are like a man who dreams he eats but wakes up still hungry, and that we can say we are believers while “the heart, the mind, the will, our actions, our attitude is removed far from God.”
▶ 0:00 Okay, in Isaiah 29:1-17 we find God, through Isaiah, giving a word about God punishing the city of God, the people of God, Jerusalem, and her opponents: those that God used to correct his people, and those that just oppose God and his people. It says in verse one, “Woe to Ariel, the city where David dwelt.” That’s Jerusalem. Woe to Jerusalem, you will be brought down.
▶ 0:36 He said in verse 7, “The multitude of the nations that fight against Jerusalem, Ariel, shall be as a dream of a night.” When a man dreams and he’s hungry and he eats, he’s thirsty and he drinks, but he wakes up, he’s still hungry and he’s still thirsty. It’s just a dream. So people that think they can fight against God and his church, they’re just it’s just a dream. It says you will be punished by the Lord who fight against Mount Zion, the church. Isaiah 29:10, “The Lord has closed your eyes, and the eyes of the prophets, and the eyes of your rulers and the seers has he covered. The vision is like words of a sealed book delivered to one who’s learned, saying, ‘Read this,’ and he says, ‘I can’t read it because it’s sealed.’ Delivered to another that’s not learned, and he says, ‘I can’t read it because I’m not learned.’”
▶ 1:43 For this reason the Lord says, “As the people draw nigh to me with their mouth and their lips do honor me, but they have removed their heart far from me.” You see, yeah, we say we’re believers, yeah, we say we’re Christians, but the heart, the mind, the will, our actions, our attitude is removed far from God. “Their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men.” You see, and do we have that today, where we just teach our own doctrines, man-made doctrines, much like the Constitution of America’s interpreted for their own personal gain, so is the Bible in a generation we live in. it’s just And when people use the word “interpret,” watch out, because the Bible doesn’t need to be interpreted. The Bible interprets itself. It explains itself. You don’t have to psychoanalyze it.

Isaiah 29:1-10 (NKJV)
“Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! Add year to year; Let feasts come around. Yet I will distress Ariel; There shall be heaviness and sorrow, And it shall be to Me as Ariel. I will encamp against you all around, I will lay siege against you with a mound, And I will raise siegeworks against you. You shall be brought down, You shall speak out of the ground; Your speech shall be low, out of the dust; Your voice shall be like a medium’s, out of the ground; And your speech shall whisper out of the dust. “Moreover the multitude of your foes Shall be like fine dust, And the multitude of the terrible ones Like chaff that passes away; Yes, it shall be in an instant, suddenly. You will be punished by the LORD of hosts With thunder and earthquake and great noise, With storm and tempest And the flame of devouring fire. The multitude of all the nations who fight against Ariel, Even all who fight against her and her fortress, And distress her, Shall be as a dream of a night vision. It shall even be as when a hungry man dreams, And look—he eats; But he awakes, and his soul is still empty; Or as when a thirsty man dreams, And look—he drinks; But he awakes, and indeed he is faint, And his soul still craves: So the multitude of all the nations shall be, Who fight against Mount Zion.” Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink. For the LORD has poured out on you The spirit of deep sleep, And has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; And He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.

Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,
— Isaiah 29:13 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:44If there is a God, why does He allow wars and evil in the earth? (Isaiah 29:14)
Short answer: He says it is not God allowing it, “it’s us. We’re not dealing with evil people like God told us to.” He says God gave humans the responsibility to judge and punish criminals after the flood, and when mankind failed, God used wars, sins, plagues, famines, acts of God and evil leaders to correct the neglect of correction.
▶ 2:50 And he goes on to say in verse 14 that the wisdom of their wise men shall perish and the understanding of their prudent shall be hidden. Now, remember, God gave humans the responsibility to judge and punish criminals after the flood. People say, “If there is a God, why he allow this wars and all this stuff in the earth?” It’s not him allowing it, it’s us. We’re not dealing with evil people like God told us to. It’s our fault. So when mankind failed, through the Bible God would use wars, sins Bible says your sins will correct you), plagues, famines, acts of God, and evil leaders to correct the neglect of correction. Now, God punishing the city of God and her opponents. her

Isaiah 29:14 (NKJV)
Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work Among this people, A marvelous work and a wonder; For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”
— Isaiah 29:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:51Is there a time to confront civil leaders? What did Moses do with Pharaoh? (Exodus 7-14)
Short answer: He says “there is a time for confronting civil opponents” and gives Moses as the example: Moses did not just bring the people out of Egypt, he confronted Pharaoh, his sorcerers, his parliament and the religion of that day, saying “Let my people go.” He says Moses confronted the military, the civil government and the religious leaders of Egypt.
▶ 3:55 Opponents. There is a time for confronting civil opponents, civil laws, and their army or their police department or whatever backs up the authority that backs it up. There is a time. For instance, Moses, when he went down to get the people of God out of Egypt, did he just go down and bring them out, or did he go to Pharaoh and confront Pharaoh? He confronted him. See, he dealt with Pharaoh. He said, “Let my people go.” So Pharaoh called his wise men, you know, his sorcerers and all that, together, and you know Moses threw down his rod to show the power of God, and then the sorcerers threw down their rod and it became a snake. Now, those sorcerers were not turning rods into snakes until Moses came down and God allowed it to happen. And Moses’s snake swallowed up the rest of the snakes. You see, they didn’t need more snakes, they needed to get rid of the snake that God caused to appear. And so the sorcerers, they turned the water also, like Moses did, to blood. Well, they were down there turning the water to blood before Moses came down. See, Moses was confronting Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and his parliament.
▶ 5:40 Here what they didn’t need: they didn’t need more blood. They needed the water that was turned to blood back to water, but they couldn’t do that because God didn’t allow them to. They only could bring more disaster. So when the frogs came along, “Yeah, we can do that.” Well, they didn’t need more frogs, they needed to get rid of the frogs that Moses brought up by the power of God, amen. So Moses was dealing with the king, of Pharaoh, and his his congress, his parliament, and the religion of that day, and just totally bringing it to an embarrassment, are you there, until Pharaoh finally said, “Let them go.” God brought 10 judgments, actually 11. I know your Bible says 10, but the Bible left out one. When they crossed the Red Sea and the Red Sea closed up on them, that was the last judgment. Pharaoh’s army was destroyed. See, Moses confronted the military might of Egypt, the civil government of Egypt, and the religious leaders of Egypt.

Exodus 7:10-12 (NKJV)
So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, just as the LORD commanded. And Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent. But Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers; so the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For every man threw down his rod, and they became serpents. But Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.

Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, “Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.’ ”
— Exodus 5:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:39 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Did Joshua, the judges and David have to confront civil authorities too?
Short answer: He says Joshua was to bring God’s judgment on a nation whose sin “had come to maturity,” and the kings of Canaan came out with their military, so Joshua fought wars. He says that when God uses people to correct His church, those people “just don’t really want to stop ruling over God’s people,” so judges had to rise up, and David had to deal with the civil leader of Israel before God brought him down.
▶ 6:57 Okay, we go to Joshua now. You got to remember, God brought his people out to go in to take Canaan land, because and they were to kill everybody, everybody, women, children, everybody, because the Bible says their sin had come to maturity, had come to completeness, their sin. And so Joshua was supposed to go in, and now it’s reversed: he is supposed to bring God’s judgment on a nation of sin. And do you think those 31 kings in Canaan land said, “Okay, Joshua, we understand, you come in, we’ll just submit”? Did they do that? No. What did they do? They came out with their military. You see, and Joshua fought wars, and in seven years he had conquered most of the land. He did not conquer all the land like a lot of people think he did. They left pockets of of Philistines and Jebusites and other “-ites” in the land, and they did nothing but caused them trouble later. He was supposed to be completely conquer.
▶ 8:13 So the judges judges come along, and the judges came along because God’s people sinned, and God would bring the Philistine army or the Moabite army, the Ammonite army, or the other armies around there to correct his people. And when God was done correcting his people, those armies and those kings that conquered God’s people would not let them go. So what had had to happen? A judge rose up, pulled the people together, and fought a war and delivered them, and they went back to sin again, he had to do it again, sin again, he had to do it again. You see, when God uses people people to correct his church, those people just don’t really want to stop ruling over God’s people. God’s only wanting to correct, not enslave them and keep them from being free and fulfilling his and receiving the fulfillment of his promise. You understand?
▶ 9:20 David. Now, you got to understand that Saul could and his seed could never have been king of Israel. You got to understand that it was already prophesied in Genesis that the king would come out of Judah. You see, but the problem is, God had you know first of all God didn’t want him having a king. He said, “I’m going to give you a king because you want one, you want to be like the nations.” Secondly, it had to be a king out of Judah, and so God chose Saul, who could not have continued to be the lineage of the kings of God’s people because God already promised it would come from Judah. But the guy had in who God had in mind, David, was part Moabite, and the Bible says a Moabite could not come into the congregation until the 10th generation. David just happened to be the 10th generation. Just happened to be. can you Can you imagine that? Just happened to be. And so God had to wait one generation for David to be available to be the king. And so Saul’s lineage was determined beforehand not to continue, are you with me? But David then had to deal with who? King Saul, who really didn’t have the prophetic word to be king and his lineage follow through, even though God chose Ed him. Okay, so David had to deal with King the civil leader of Israel. He had to run from him and everything else, and stand against him until God brought him down.

Deuteronomy 23:3 (NKJV)
“An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter the assembly of the LORD; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the LORD forever,

The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him shall be the obedience of the people.
— Genesis 49:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:36 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Did Daniel, Jesus and Paul obey or confront unjust authorities, and who is the kingdom given to? (Daniel 3, Daniel 6, Matthew 21:43)
Short answer: He says that when a law said you can’t pray, Daniel “opened his window and prayed just like he always did,” and Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego would not bow to the idol. He says Jesus confronted religious leaders and Paul was sent to Caesar, that the church in America has been “dumbed down for about 20-some years now to keep silent,” and that Jesus said the kingdom is given “to a people bringing forth the fruit of it,” not to Catholics, Baptists or Pentecostals.
▶ 11:18 And we can go on through. Let’s go to Daniel. When they passed the law saying you can’t pray, did Daniel said, “Okay, folks, we got to obey the laws of the land here, we can’t pray anymore”? Did he do that? No. no He opened his window and prayed just like he always did. He confronted the king. The Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, when they were wouldn’t bow down to the idol, they were the only ones there that wouldn’t bow down to the idol, and they got thrown into the fiery furnace, and they said, “King, whether God delivers us or not, he can deliver us, but whether he delivers us or not, when not obeying your bad law.” And when God spared them in the fiery furnace and appeared there with them, the king of Babylon changed the law of the land. See, a confrontation of civil leaders. And you you got to understand this stuff, because we’ve been dumbed down to keep quiet in America. They have really dumbed us down, and we got to go to the Bible to get our answers. Could that be true? Yeah.
▶ 12:45 Let’s go to Jesus. Did he have to confront two kings, two two local leaders, two civil: Pilate and Herod? Herod, he wouldn’t even say anything too, because John the Baptist had already give him a word and Herod wouldn’t repent. So Jesus just didn’t say anything to Herod, wouldn’t even speak to him. He already got the message, he needed to repent. Ain’t that right? Wouldn’t say a word to Herod. Herod wanted to see a miracle from him. And Pilate thought he could justify himself by washing his hands and say, “I, you know...” No, no, wash hands or not, you the one that gave the commandment to kill the guy, right? And not only civil leaders, Jesus had to confront religious leaders who were leading the people the wrong way. Am I right? Yeah.
▶ 13:53 And the church in America has been being dumbed down for about 20-some years now to keep silent. “Do your little thing just in your church, don’t get up in public, don’t say anything in public.” Paul and the apostles come along. Did God send Paul to Caesar himself? Absolutely Did Paul have a confrontation with the religious leaders of the Jews and the religious leaders of pagan religion? Yes. He didn’t back down. He didn’t back down at all. Jesus is the one that said the kingdom is going to be given to a people bringing forth the fruit of it. Ah, are you there, church? The kingdom isn’t given to Catholics, to Baptists, Pentecostals. It’s given to people that are bringing forth the fruit of the kingdom. I’m just letting that soak into your cranial vacuum.

Daniel 6:10 (NKJV)
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.

“Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.
— Matthew 21:43 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 14:43 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How do the fruits of righteousness make us a light to the world? (Philippians 1:10-11, Matthew 5:16)
Short answer: He says admitting you are wrong and repenting is part of righteousness, and that “we’re going to spend our life repenting, going from salvation to salvation.” He says the calling of God is not just to know Christ or win souls but “the fruits of righteousness, because that makes us a light to the world.”
▶ 15:34 You know, me being an independent church means nothing to God. Me bringing forth the fruit of righteousness means everything to God. And see, if I admit I’m wrong and repent and I feel bad about being wrong, how many you know that’s part of righteousness? So just because I make a mistake doesn’t mean I have to, what, stay down. Amen. And so we’re going to spend our life repenting, going from salvation to salvation, if we want to bring forth the fruit of the kingdom. Paul said, “Be sincere without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness.” You see, the the high mark, the calling of God, isn’t just to know Christ and get high in the presence. It isn’t just go to door and win souls. It is the fruits of righteousness, because that makes us a light to the world. “Let your light so shine that they may see your good works and what honor your Father,” because they know you can’t do that on your own, so it brings honor to Christ, it brings honor to God. Hallelujah.

Philippians 1:10-11 (NKJV)

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
— Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 16:47 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does he say about the Inquisition, the Reformation, the Puritans and the Quakers?
Short answer: He says that for 400 years the Catholic Church, which he calls “a very corrupt church,” was also the civil government and killed and tortured those who disagreed, and that “you don’t kill people because they disagree with you.” He says some who stood up before the Reformation “got annihilated,” that the Puritans persecuted the Quakers, and that “there has to be a confrontation.” He says he has met people with a right heart in Catholic, Baptist and Episcopalian churches.
▶ 17:04 Now, the Inquisition. For 400 years the Catholic Church, was which was a very corrupt church, the leaders were corrupt and the members had no say in that church. I would never go to a church where I never had a say, where leaders just say and you you either follow it or you shut up and... or you got to leave. That’s just crazy. Is God a respecter of persons? Yeah. Does every member supply? Yeah, good Lord. Anyway, the Catholic Church at this time, the Catholic Church is still corrupt. Not just at this time. I mean, they’re not having homosexual popes and and and maybe committing adultery, well, but the priest they’re you know they’re, they’ve been caught molesting children, you know, priest uh having women on the side, and all kinds of debauchery, and making rules: if you just give money to the church you can you got eternal life. And if you disagreed with the Catholic Church, who was the civil government most of those 400 years, they not only were the religious leaders, they were the civil leaders, they just killed you. They’d bring you in, they’d torture you because you disagreed with them, and on millions of innocent people, you know, because they disagreed. And when I look into their doctrines, they weren’t so hot either. But you don’t kill people because they disagree with you, right?
▶ 18:57 Geez. And so, you know, some people before Luther stood up to it and they got annihilated. When Luther he stood up to the church government and the civil government at that time, they tried to catch him and kill him, and so forth, and then the Reformation started. Okay, and then we’ll go on up to the Puritans. The Puritans wanted to live righteous and holy and they didn’t like the Anglican Church, the Catholic Church of England, the way it was, and they tried to change it. And so the Anglican Church persecuted them because they didn’t want their Puritan ideas. So finally there was a civil war in Britain in 1642. they won The Puritans won, and what did they do? They applied their Puritan things to everybody in the land, even closing up the theaters. Yeah. And then just a few years later the Anglicans won back the civil government and the Puritans fled to America.
▶ 20:10 Well, when the Puritans came to America they persecuted the Quakers horribly, killed hundreds of them and imprisoned thousands because they disagreed with the Puritans. There has to be a confrontation. You see, the Quakers confronted the Puritans, and basically the Quakers said, “You guys, you’re being born again by faith and not by experience, and being born again is an experience, not just ‘I believe I’m born again.’” That was one of the big things between the Quakers, and also they quake, you know, they shook in their services. Are you with me? And see, there had to be a confrontation, there had to be a dealing with these things.
Does the Bible approve of slavery, and how does he compare skin color to sinful choices?
Short answer: He says when no one in the Southern states would listen to truth or reason “we wound up having a war,” and that “the Bible never approves of slavery,” because anyone who kidnaps someone by force is to be stoned. He says the Old Testament word “slave” is basically talking about a servanthood, working to pay a debt, “a bonded servant.” He says people do not choose their skin color, but “homosexuality, murder, pedophilia and all that is a choice.”
▶ 21:05 Then you come to the Civil War. No one would listen to truth. The Southern states would not listen to truth, the slave states would not listen the truth, and they wouldn’t listen to reason, so we wound up having a war. And Abraham Lincoln even said in one of his great speeches that this could be the judgment of God on our land because of us having slaves. Do you remember that speech? If you don’t, go read it, it’s good. He made a lot of good speeches, amazing guy, a lot of good speeches. And so we fought and we killed one another. See, there had to be a confrontation. And the Southern churches changed everything, including the Southern Catholics. I got a document from them where they justified slavery in the South. Southern Baptist started because they approved of slavery. Southern Methodist started because they approved of slavery. Church, that’s just wrong. The Bible never approves of slavery, because the Bible says if you kidnap someone, take them by force, you are to be stoned. And if you can’t take anybody by force against their will, you can’t, what, make them a slave.
▶ 22:30 See, the word “slave” in the King James Version in the Old Testament, especially the Pentateuch, is basically talking about a servanthood. you you You go into poverty or you didn’t pay your bills, you go and you work for someone so many years to pay that debt off. They would pay your debt off and then you would pay it back by working for them. And King James and some of the other things interpret that as slavery, but it’s really a bonded servant. Are you with me? Hallelujah.
▶ 23:05 “Equal but separate,” right after the Civil War, was horrible. Equal but separate, and uh you got to have your own drinking fountain, your own bathroom and everything. We can’t have anything to do with you. Well, you know, we fought that battle, at least the people of truth did, for decades before they finally won in the ‘60s. How many of you know you don’t have a choice with the skin color you’re born with? It’s the two people that connected is going to decide what skin color you got. But how many of you know you homosexuality, murder, pedophilia and all that is a choice? You do have a choice there. Amen. And that’s the difference. You choose to do wrong, I mean, because you’re born with a skin color, you got no choice in the matter. You know, if your father was an American and your mother was a Mexican and you’re a half-breed like my two boys, you know, or Asian, you know, you got a American Asian, whatever, you know, you just come out blended. Hallelujah, Heinz 57, blended. All right. But there had to be a what? Confrontation.
Scripture in this part
Exodus 21:16 (NKJV)
“He who kidnaps a man and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, shall surely be put to death.
— Exodus 21:16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:13 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is secular humanism, and what does he say its goal is?
Short answer: He calls it “the civil religion of secular humanism” and says it is a religion whose goal is “to remove Christianity” and the Bible from public places and to change and convert them. He says it started in 1933 with the Humanist Manifesto and “this has got to be confronted.”
▶ 24:38 Now, today the civil religion of secular humanism’s goal. Okay, this is the battle we’re fighting. This is our opposition, and I call it the civil religion of secular humanism because almost everybody in civil authority has accepted this philosophy. Okay, it is a religion, and they have a goal, and this is their goal: to remove Christianity in the Bible from public places and to change them and convert them. I’m going to show you the Humanist Manifesto. They want to convert churches, they want to rebuild them, they want to change them, and it started in the 1933, and this has got to be confronted.
What does he say the Humanist Manifesto says about God, prayer, the family, the church and society?
Short answer: He reads from what he says is the 1933 Humanist Manifesto: no God, no prayer, no miracles, and a universe that is self-existing and not created. He says it also calls for the “conversion, control and direction” of associations such as the family and the church, that religious institutions “must be reconstructed,” and he calls the society it describes “communism, socialism and liberalism.” He urges listeners to look it up themselves.
▶ 25:45 Okay, let me give you an example of the Humanist Manifesto that was drafted in 1933. No God. There’s no God, no prayer, praying to a mythical God is forbidden, and there’s no miracles. All right, this is right in their manifesto: there’s no such thing as a miracle, no such thing as a God, and no such thing that prayer can change things. Men’s intellect will change society. The universe self existence thing and not created. So there goes the Bible and there goes Jesus, whom the Bible said created all things. All evolution, the scientific method, and social well-being. And other words, you get your fair share. How many have heard that statement, “equality,” “fair share”? That comes from the Humanist Manifesto. Let us continue: “All associations.” All associations. Guess what is an association? The family. All Association, all families, all institutes. Guess what they consider an institute? The church is an institute. “Exists for the fulfillment of human life. The intelligent evaluation, conversion, control and direction of such associations and institutions must be to the enhancement, the development and improvement of human life is the purpose and the program of humanism.”
▶ 27:52 So they are were out to convert us in 1933. They were out to control us. They knew to get control they get in civil positions. So they want to convert the church, they want to convert the family, the family structure, which the Bible’s very strong on, man and a woman having children, raising up in the right ways of the Lord, that right? Well, they want to convert, they want to change the family, they want to change the church. This is right in their manifesto, you can read it. Go home and get on the internet, look up Human humanistic Manifesto Uno, and you will get what they said. I’m I’m quoting from that.
▶ 28:40 “Certainly religious institutions,” there it is, religious institutions, “their ceremonial forms, of church methods and public activities must be reconstructed as rapidly as knowledge and involvement allow.” Wow, isn’t that something? “In order to function effectively in the modern world,” they got to convert the church to their way of thinking. “The existing greedy and profit-motivated society,” the existing greedy and profit-motivated society, which is capitalism, free enterprise, that’s what America was, “has shown itself to be inadequate, and that a radical change in methods, controls and motives must be established to the end that equitable distribution of the means of life are possible.” Folks, that’s communism, socialism and liberalism. That is the philosophy of communism, socialism and liberalism, and it’s right in their Humanist Manifesto.
▶ 30:23 And the church, while we’re trying to win souls and meet God you know, feel the presence of God, we have not confronted these things in our generation, and these humanist are very close to winning this battle. Are you there? Are you glad you came to church today learn about humanism? Now, and progressivism, by the way, is just another word for liberalism. So this is what is taught in the public schools and universities by humanists, just as they projected to do in 1933. Okay, here’s humanist Charles Potter. writes, okay, this is what he said: “Education is the most powerful ally of humanism, and every American school is a school of humanism. What can a theistic Sunday schools meeting for an hour once a week and teaching only a fraction of the children do to stem the tide of the five-day program of humanistic teaching?” And that comes from the magazine Humanism: A New Religion, 1930. Are we clear on that?
What should the church do about its opponents, and will God save us from our enemies? (Luke 1:70-75)
Short answer: He says it is important to “know your opponents,” and that although God said He would punish the church’s opponents we “can’t just sit back,” we “got to confront this thing.” He reads Luke 1:70-75, that we “should be saved from our enemies,” says he cannot find a worldwide fulfillment in history, and thinks “God is going to demonstrate his glory and power through his church.”
▶ 31:56 See, it’s important you you know your opponents. God said that he would punish the church’s opponents, but we can’t just sit back and go, “Okay, God, lightning bolt or something, do your thing.” We’ve got, like Moses and arrest them, we got to confront this thing, we got to deal with this thing. Could that be an amen? Hallelujah. Now, Luke 1:70, this is Zechariah prophesying: “As he spoke by his holy prophets who have been since the world began.” So where is this word going to be found? In the Old Testament, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Genesis, Adam was a prophet, and so forth. This word that’s following is going to be found there: “That we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of...” say that word, “...all who hate us.” See, did the humanist in their manifesto show that they hate us? Absolutely. Oh, they sweet-talk us and everything and say, “Well, we respect your opinion,” but they hate us. They look down on us, they despise us, they think they got to convert us and change us and control us. “To grant to us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him all the days of our life.”
▶ 33:44 Now, was that fulfilled in the early church? They were persecuted, thrown to the animals in the arena, every apostle but one was martyred horribly, and he got tarred and feathered. Okay, does every prophecy got to come to pass? Yes. This has not been a worldwide fulfillment in God’s church that I can find in history. And they say Jesus can come back any minute? I highly doubt that. I think God is going to demonstrate his glory and power through his church just like he said he would. Hallelujah.
▶ 34:41 Now, to receive this promise, it’s obvious we’ve got to come to holiness and righteousness. You agree? And that’s why, when I I I’ve ministered in Catholic churches, I’ve met people that they they they have a right heart, they’re, you know, they’re raising their family right, they have righteous principles, moral Bible moral principles. Baptists, I know, have Bible moral principles. You know, in every one of these churches I’ve been in, the Episcopalian and so forth, I meet people that have this goal and they live the best they can righteously and holy. And a lot of the church aren’t, they just in there doing their thing and and they could care the least about righteousness and holiness. Are you with me? So there’s got to be a what? A visitation to bring the church back to righteousness and holiness. Hallelujah.
Scripture in this part
Luke 1:70-75 (NKJV)
As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, Who have been since the world began, That we should be saved from our enemies And from the hand of all who hate us, To perform the mercy promised to our fathers And to remember His holy covenant, The oath which He swore to our father Abraham: To grant us that we, Being delivered from the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.
— Luke 1:70-75 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 32:29What does God promise “in that day”? (Isaiah 29:18-24)
Short answer: He says “in that day” the deaf shall hear the words of the book, and for you it is the day God opens your ears and eyes. He says “your error will not keep God from visiting you,” and that even those who complain will learn doctrine. He says Isaiah always follows punishing God’s people with “how glorious God’s going to move upon his people.”
▶ 35:46 Now, after speaking of God punishing the city of God and punishing her opponents, we need to pray that God would fulfill that in our day. We need to God to rise up and give us the the character and the militant attitude to oppose our opponents. Could that be true? There’s too many Christians silent. They’ve been brainwashed into saying nothing. But after speaking of God punishing the city of God and her opponents, this is what he says, Isaiah 29:18, “In that day.” There’s that “in that day” again. Remember, “in that day” can refer to the time that Christ come, it can refer to the time that Christ comes again, depending on the scripture he’s talking about, but a lot of it is referring to a time before the second coming when God is going to display his power and glory again in the earth.
▶ 37:00 All right, “In that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book.” You ever feel deaf to the word? You read it, you go, “What’s it saying?” Well, for you, that’s the other part of “in that day.” For you, “in that day” is when he opened your ears to hear the word of God. Paul said, “I was one born out of due season.” We don’t have to wait for general promises of God. “The eyes of the blind shall see see.” God will open your eyes, God will open your ears if you ask him. “The humble also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor men among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.” These, verse 24, “who [unclear] in spirit will come to understanding.” How many, have you ever been in error? How many feel like you’re in error right now? A few of you got the guts to raise your hand. Look at the powerful promise of God. Your error will not keep God from visiting you. You understand that?
▶ 38:12 Man, as a young Christian I thought I had everything figured out. In a year I read my Bible through, you know, in a year. Hallelujah. And as time went by I found out I had to change a lot of my beliefs. Had to change a lot of... but God still loved me and kept building me and using me and touching my life, even though I had error. “Those who complain will learn doctrine.” I know we got no one in here ever complains about the church and your wife or your husband. Just no one would here like that. But if you were, God says you’re going to learn doctrine. Isn’t that a powerful scripture? So in spite of our complaining, in spite of our error, God says, “In that day,” your day, “I’m going to come and open your ears and open your eyes, and you’re going to learn doctrine. I’m going to change you.” Isn’t that powerful?
▶ 39:14 So never give up on God. And this is what Isaiah is all about. He’s always talking about punishing God’s people, and then the next statement is what? How glorious God’s going to move upon his people. Why? Because he’s a father that, yes, corrects his church, but his whole goal is to profit his church. Amen. God’s word to rebellious believers. I know we don’t have any in here, you know, nobody in here rebellious at all, no rebel flags flying anywhere. We just submit to God, just... it okay, okay.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 29:18-24 (NKJV)
In that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book, And the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness. The humble also shall increase their joy in the LORD, And the poor among men shall rejoice In the Holy One of Israel. For the terrible one is brought to nothing, The scornful one is consumed, And all who watch for iniquity are cut off— Who make a man an offender by a word, And lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, And turn aside the just by empty words. Therefore thus says the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob: “Jacob shall not now be ashamed, Nor shall his face now grow pale; But when he sees his children, The work of My hands, in his midst, They will hallow My name, And hallow the Holy One of Jacob, And fear the God of Israel. These also who erred in spirit will come to understanding, And those who complained will learn doctrine.”

Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
— 1 Corinthians 15:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 37:19 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Who are the rebellious people in Isaiah 30, and what is God’s message to them: repent and rest? (Isaiah 30:8-15)
Short answer: He says Isaiah 30 describes a “rebellious people, lying children” who tell the prophets to “speak to us smooth things” and want a little church service to feel good instead of the presence of God. He says God’s message to them is “repent,” which he describes as feeling bad about your sins and turning to doing right, and then rest, and he names three things to unite around: the Bible as God’s word, Jesus as Savior and only way, and bearing good fruit.
▶ 39:56 Isaiah 30:8-11, right? “For it may be for a time to come,” which would be in that day, your day that you get a responsive heart, “and forever and ever.” See, this thing continues. In any generation can be “in that day” for you when you get a responsive heart and submit to God. Okay, that this is a “rebellious people, lying children.” These people lie about the word, lie about God, they lie about serving God. They’re rebellious children, “do not hear the law of the Lord.” Wow. “They say to the seers, ‘Don’t see,’ and to the prophets, ‘Don’t proph prophesy right things.’” Don’t tell us right things. We don’t want to hear Bible things, we want to hear men’s philosophies. “Speak to us smooth things,” easy things, don’t rock the boat, bud, and we’ll get a new preacher. “Prophesy what deceits.” Prophesy deception. And when people say that homosexuals were born that way, they are, what, deceiving the homosexual. “Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.” We don’t want no presence of God to come, we just want a little church service, make ourselves feel good and go home.
▶ 41:33 Chapter 30:2, “Because you have rejected this message,” what message? The law of the Lord and right things. “You’ve relied on oppression and dependent on deceit.” That’s what we said down here. That’s what he said, you want people to teach you lies, teach you deceits. Verse 15, “In repentance and rest you shall be saved.” So what’s the message? Repent. Feel bad about being your sins, feel bad about disobeying God’s word, and turn from disobeying God’s word to doing right, and rest. Jesus said what? “Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” See, we got to come to Jesus. There’s three things we have to unite around. That the Bible is God’s word and it’s the authority. Could you raise your hand, say “I believe that”? Yeah. Our opinions is nothing. The Bible. Secondly, Jesus, he’s not only God in the flesh, he is the Savior, he’s the only way to God and to eternal life. Could you raise your hand and say amen to that? Yeah. See, and then the third one is we are supposed to bring forth good fruit and live righteous. we Can you raise your hand to that? Yes, hallelujah. And repent as we’re growing in it. Don’t give up when you fail, get up.

Isaiah 30:8-11 (NKJV)
Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever: That this is a rebellious people, Lying children, Children who will not hear the law of the LORD; Who say to the seers, “Do not see,” And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits. — Isaiah 30:15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 42:02Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
— Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 42:24 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Will God answer the rebellious who cry to Him? (Isaiah 30:19-21)
Short answer: He says that after putting them down, God gives “a powerful word”: “You rebels shall weep no more,” and “when he hears the cry he will answer.” He says all we have to do is say “Lord, I’ve been wrong, I need your help.” He says Satan says you are not worthy, but God sees a responsive heart and says “I’m going to lift you out of this mess.”
▶ 43:18 So repentance and rest. Jesus, we got to come to Jesus. “In quietness and trust shall be your strength, but you would have none of it.” Because you’re a rebel, you want to do it your way. Okay, he’s showing them the message they rejected, he’s showing them how to get turned around, and he said you don’t want to even change. How many you met, people don’t want to change? They want to go to heaven but they don’t want to change. Yeah, I’ve done a lot of witness, I can’t believe it. Isaiah 30:19, “You rebels shall weep no more.” Here is, this this is God’s style with Isaiah: puts him down and then turns around and gives them a powerful word. You’re going to weep no more. “He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry.” If you just cry out to him for help, weep no more, here comes Jesus. Ain’t that beautiful? Powerful. When he hears the cry, he will answer you. All we got to do is say, “Lord, I’ve been wrong, I need your help,” and here comes Jesus on his white horse with his armor, charging in to take care of your problem.
▶ 44:53 “Though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers shall not be moved to a corner anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers.” Though he corrects you, he’s only correcting you so you will get a ear to hear and eyes to see and be blessed by his promise of the inheritance that he promised you. Isn’t that beautiful? So see, Satan comes along and says you’re not worthy, and people will come along and say you’re not worthy, you’re a rebel, yeah, you’re a bad Christian, but God comes along and sees your responsive heart and says, “Hey, I’m going to lift you out of this mess. I’m going to change you and give you my blessings and my glory.” Isn’t that beautiful? Powerful. “Your ears will hear a word behind you saying, ‘This is the way, walk you in it.’” That’s his word to the rebels. “This is the way, walk you in it.”
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 30:19-21 (NKJV)
For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; You shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; When He hears it, He will answer you. And though the Lord gives you The bread of adversity and the water of affliction, Yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, But your eyes shall see your teachers. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.
— Isaiah 30:19-21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 43:56What is rebellion, and how does he say Christians should stand up? (1 Samuel 15:23)
Short answer: He says “the Bible says that rebellion is the sin of witchcraft,” and that rebellion is “ignoring the laws of God, doing your own thing instead of what God said to do.” He says if we cry out and admit we are wrong, God will open our eyes and ears. He says we must stand up for the Bible, for Jesus and for righteousness and Bible morality, and not let ourselves be shoved into a corner.
▶ 46:04 A rebel. The Bible says that rebellion is the sin of witchcraft, and if we think witchcraft is bad, then rebellion is bad. Rebellion is just ignoring the laws of God, doing your own thing instead of what God said to do, just rebelling against God’s word, God’s laws. And he says if you’ll just cry out to me, if you’ll just admit you’re wrong, weep no more. I will come, I will open your eyes, I’ll open your ears, you’ll hear your teachers, I’ll show you the way to walk in. All I’m waiting for is to hear from you.
▶ 46:51 Now, folks, we’ve seen today that there’s an enemy in America and the world trying to change God’s established family and God’s established church, and it’s called humanism. We’ve saw that we must confront these things for our children’s sake. As parents we’re responsible to make sure our children have a chance to grow up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord and not have their brain captured, yes, into the philosophies as of men. Ain’t that right? As Christians we’ve got to stand up for the Bible, for Jesus and for righteousness, Bible morality. We’ve got to stand up. We can’t let him shove us into some corner. The Bible is just as an authentic book as any book they bring out, more authentic, by the way. We got to stand up for it.

— Ephesians 6:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 47:26 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does God promise those who respond to His voice? (Isaiah 30:26-31)
Short answer: He says God promises to bless us with food, clothing and shelter and health, to bind up the bruise of His people, and to fight our battles with us. He says we need to hear “what the Spirit is saying to the church in our day,” and the first thing He asks is to admit we are wrong, feel bad about it, and turn from it.
▶ 48:05 And the key to this promise to live holy and righteous before him all the days of our life is we need to get holy and righteous. Isaiah 30 says he’ll bless us financially. He wants to bless you financially with food, clothing and shelter, whether you drive a [unclear] God could care the least about, but he promised to give you health, he promised to give you food and shelter and clothing. Are you with me? That’s the promise to the rebel, the the rebellious. And he says in that day there that day, that day you respond, that day you cry, “the Lord will bind up the bruise of his people heal their wound.”
▶ 48:56 “You shall have a song as in the night, and gladness of heart, to come to the mountain of the Lord,” that’s where God is, “to the Mighty One of Israel.” He’ll fight our battles with us. “The Lord will cause his glorious voice to be heard.” How many, you know, in Revelations it says, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the church.” We don’t mean need men’s doctrines, we need to hear what the Spirit is saying to the church in our day, our hour, for our family and our time. Could that be an amen? See, we need the Spirit. The Spirit’s what opens the scriptures up to us. “For through the voice of the Lord Assyria will be beaten down.” See, Assyria was the nation that God used to correct his people that that time. And what everything he’s using to correct you, the voice of the Lord will beat it down. And he’s just asking you to respond to his voice.
▶ 50:13 The first thing he’s asking us to do is admit we’re wrong where we’re wrong, feel bad about being wrong and being rebellious against God and breaking his word, and turn from those wrongs. And out of Leviticus he says, “You shall be holy unto me, for I the Lord I have separated you from other people, that you should be mine.” I’ve separated you to be righteous. I’ve separated you to live right.
