God’s Promises to All the Acceptable 11/12/2017: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Pastor David G. Kincer teaches that God has promises for “the acceptable”—those like Cornelius who fear God and do right by conscience: the Spirit poured on all flesh, the earth filled with his glory, transformation into Christ’s image, knowing God, and wisdom from above. From Acts 19 he asks whether believers have received the Holy Ghost, urges adding virtue to faith, and teaches that any believer can lay on hands.
Who are “the acceptable”?
Short answer: Like Cornelius, those who fear God, depart from evil and do right by their conscience without knowing more. He points to the innumerable multitude in heaven.
▶ 0:00 Okay remember weeks before last message God’s promises to all the acceptable [unclear] was acceptable in the eyes of God because he feared God departed from evil and did right did what’s right in the eyes of God even though he didn’t know what those right things were he was following his conscience okay. He didn’t know there was any more you see. Cornelius didn’t know and here is God’s promises to those that are acceptable in God now if you don’t believe what I’m telling you just remember Revelation says there’s a people up in heaven that cannot be numbered how do you think they get into heaven if they haven’t heard the name of Christ and everything else there would be very few.
Scripture in this part
Revelation 7:9 (NKJV)
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,
— Revelation 7:9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:43 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is the first promise?
Short answer: I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh—not yet fulfilled worldwide. God filled Cornelius’s household before they believed or were baptized; set aside denominational thinking.
▶ 0:54 Are you with me so God goes to every nation every tongue every tribe and he judges them by their listening to their conscience that recognition that God has put in every one of right and wrong are you with me and there’s acceptable people but they need to hear the word of God okay here is God’s promises to these people who are acceptable all right I will pour out my spirit of power on all flesh how much flesh oh that has not been done yet it’s been done in areas it’s been done in [unclear] but has never been done worldwide yet I submit to you we have something powerful to look forward to in this walk with God in the future could that be an amen and so you are flesh and God wants to pour out his spirit of power on you and you got to get rid of your traditional upbringing and your denominational thinking and just accept the fact that God says you are flesh and I want to pour out my spirit on you could that be an amen and he did that with Cornelius someone who didn’t even believe in Jesus he came and filled Cornelius and all those in the house with the Holy Spirit and they weren’t even believers.
Scripture in this part
Joel 2:28 (NKJV)
“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.
— Joel 2:28 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:24 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is the second promise?
Short answer: All the earth will be filled with the glory of the Lord—his manifested presence—not yet fulfilled. Isaiah 40:5: all flesh shall see it together, across every group.
▶ 2:14 They weren’t even baptized in Jesus yet can I hear an amen and so we are candidates don’t think this is just for the select people this is for all people all flesh amen now secondly all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord all of mankind shall be filled with the glory of the Lord that has not been fulfilled yet either and everybody’s wanting Jesus to come any minute [unclear] at any time and folks there has to be a demonstration according to the scriptures of God in these last days that’s going to fulfill all these scriptures could that be an amen one of them is [unclear] Christ prayed that we all become one are we in unity today no everybody has their own opinion or own ideas and follow their own belief and as the utterance [unclear] we’re overconfident in our opinions we’re overconfident in our beliefs and when God tries to talk to us we shut him out because we have confidence in what we already think we know.
▶ 3:24 Amen. And God says all the earth is going to be filled with the glory the glory is the manifested presence of God you look through the Bible Jesus was filled with glory and grace truth and grace okay the glory of the son of God was truth and grace so he was the glory the church is the glory of God and God’s manifested presence all through the Bible was written down as his what glory. Alright. The lord’s glory the glory of the Lord shall be revealed in Isaiah 40 verse 5 and how much flesh all flesh shall what see it these are action words see pour out is action filled is action see is an action it’s not something we just believe something [unclear] told us we will see the manifested presence of God.
▶ 4:20 Hallelujah. That excites me that excites me that makes church a living thing something to go to because you can see things you can hear things and you can experience things. Amen. All right and all flesh is gonna see it what together that means God isn’t going to come to certain denominations in certain groups the holiness group the unholiness group the legalistic group the unlegalistic group the Catholic group the Protestant group the Baptist group he you know he’s gonna come to those acceptable and all the groups and he’s going to touch them. Because this is his promise to all the acceptable even though they may not believe it he’s gonna come he’s gonna change that.
Scripture in this part
Habakkuk 2:14 (NKJV)
For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea.
— Habakkuk 2:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:32 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Isaiah 40:5 (NKJV)
The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
— Isaiah 40:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:57What is the third promise?
Short answer: Beholding his glory, we are transformed into the same image from glory to glory—growing from life to fruit, like a seed, from the inside out.
▶ 5:16 isn’t that exciting and nothing can stop him he is God tradition can’t stop it religion can’t stop it. we all [unclear] seeing [unclear] the glory of the Lord are being what transformed action metamorphosed [unclear] one form to another. This word is metamorphosis. To the same image what image the glory of the Lord Jesus yes the glory of the Lord Jesus we’re gonna be changed from what glory you don’t get it all at the beginning as the prophecy said today the seed is germinated it has life that’s the first fruit is life then comes the stem then.
▶ 6:20 The sprig the stem the branches and then the fruit but the first fruit is what life and without life you can’t produce fruit. amen so we got to sustain that life and who is the life and the word is life hallelujah. We’re going to be changed now has that happened in the earth yet no. We’re seeing prosperity today and we’re seeing this and we’re seeing that and people are preaching their own opinion we’re not seeing the image of God projected to the church so they can be transformed into it. and a lot of people reject [unclear] it’s by the spirit of God they reject the baptism of the Holy Ghost which is ridiculous.
Scripture in this part
2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
— 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:39 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is the fourth promise?
Short answer: To know God: eternal life is to know the only true God and Jesus Christ. Hebrews 8:11: all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
▶ 7:17 isn’t this powerful how many want God to transform you yes that’s why you need to pray that’s why you need to worship in that presence is how he works he works internally and then it shows outwardly we tried to do something outwardly and hope it gets internally but a seed is germinated not outwardly it’s germinated how inwardly. hallelujah. this is eternal life that they may know the only true God and Jesus Christ whom he has sent how many Christians do you know really know Jesus and really know the father some people don’t even believe there’s a father and there’s a Jesus.
Scripture in this part
John 17:3 (NKJV)
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
— John 17:3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:50 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Hebrews 8:11 (NKJV)
None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.
— Hebrews 8:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:12What is the fifth promise?
Short answer: James 1:5 and 3:17: wisdom from above, given liberally to all who ask. Ask for the big things—love and wisdom.
▶ 8:13 But the Bible says me and my father will come and abide in you two expressions of God [unclear] then the Holy Ghost comes that’s all three expressions of God in us can I hear an amen. Hebrews 8:11 in the covenant the new covenant this is your covenant all shall know me from the least to the greatest that is his promise that every Christian would know him. would know God. Not just hear about him not just think about him but know him. James 1:5 and James 3:17 ask for what wisdom. ask for it how many of you asked for wisdom last week in your prayer time.
▶ 9:07 Couple how many of you even took time to pray last week [unclear] ask for the big stuff love and wisdom are the big thing. They’re the big thing yeah. The wisdom from above not earthly wisdom. This is not an intelligent wisdom this is a spiritual wisdom from God and he gives to how many people all people and how liberally he’s not gonna hold it back but you gotta ask for it you got to seek it and you got to get into the word the word [unclear] they all work together can I hear an amen in that parable today of the village you see they stopped praying they stopped worshiping they stopped thanking God they stopped taking time for God and so God had to come and do something isn’t that fair of God to do something to wake us up in our stupidity yes it’s fair that’s a loving God.
Scripture in this part
James 1:5 (NKJV)
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
— James 1:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:56James 3:17 (NKJV)
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
— James 3:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:58Why reach the acceptable?
Short answer: The unlearned are accepted but untaught; they lack God’s promises and inheritance. He says America is overconfident in its opinions.
▶ 10:22 All men all flesh all the earth we all that’s the promise to those acceptable do you feel deficiencies in your life yes but God says this is the promise to you I. Will give you the power of my Holy Spirit I will show you the glory of the Lord I will pour out the glory I will. transform you into my image. now I talked to you [unclear] two weeks ago about the other harvest field the unlearned they’re accepted but they’re untaught they lack the promises of God they lack the inheritance of God. They lack the promises of God and we in America are really over confident I really like that [unclear] we have too much confidence in our opinions our belief and our level of growth that we’re okay where we’re at when we need to receive the promises of God the inheritance of God and possess these things that he promised to give us could that be an amen.
Have you received the Holy Ghost?
Short answer: Acts 19:2: Paul asked the Ephesians this; they hadn’t heard of the Holy Ghost. Don’t argue about it—ask for it. Our teachers can limit us.
▶ 11:44 Acts 19:2 Paul said to the Ephesians have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed and he’s asking you that today. Some of you are 40 years old in God and never experienced the baptism of the Holy Ghost when it’s promised to all flesh you’re so hung up with the big debate going on in the church world whether it’s for today whether it’s for yesterday you know whether tongues are of God [unclear] we’re so caught up in the debate we are distracted from the fact that God said he will pour out his spirit on all flesh period. Amen. We don’t need to argue about it we need to ask for it. Now that was a good statement but see they got us distracted on a lot of things they got us thinking that the lord’s coming in a minute when God’s got some things to fulfill and we just [unclear] hear it so much we just believe it and everybody said it must be true the Bible’s true let God be true and every man a liar that doesn’t agree with God’s truth.
▶ 13:00 Amen yeah. We’re deceivers we want to promote our program we want to promote our confidence instead of the confidence in Jesus Christ and so that’s a good question he’s asking you that today the Holy Spirit is asking you that have you received the power of the Holy Spirit believe me if you have you’ll never forget it all right it’s that powerful I don’t care if you speak in tongues or not when you get it you will know it. Could that be true. they said we haven’t heard there be any Holy Ghost the people that brought them to God never even heard of the Holy Ghost and so we are limited by the people we let teach us are you there and they keep saying the same old limited gospel that we just think well that’s it.
▶ 14:06 See the teachers we listen to are going to handicap us and limit us if they don’t know the scriptures and have an experience of things of God for themselves. could that be true has God got your attention. Okay and it’s sad that they never heard the people that brought them to God never taught them anymore is there anything after salvation. That’s a question that God is speaking to America the Holy Ghost is going through America and [unclear] trying to wake them up and says is there anything after salvation is there anything after water baptism is there anything because you’re gonna go to heaven is there anything else. and the Holy Ghost is right there is a lot more and we just shared five big promises that God wants to do for you amen yes.
Scripture in this part
Acts 19:2 (NKJV)
he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”
— Acts 19:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:44What haven’t they heard?
Short answer: The Spirit’s gifts—wisdom, knowledge, faith, discernment, healings, miracles, prophecy, tongues, interpretation—and fruit. He says there’s no rapture coming in their generation.
▶ 15:09 Now they said they haven’t heard that there being a Holy Ghost with all of its powerful gifts. the word of wisdom word of knowledge faith discerning of spirits healings miracles prophecies tongues and interpretation with all of those powerful gifts and the fruit of love joy peace long-suffering gentleness kindness meekness faith and temperance with all the beautiful fruits the powerful fruits and the powerful gifts they haven’t heard of the baptism of the Holy Ghost with its powerful gifts and it’s powerful fruit. that is sad. and that’s why we gotta get the message to the unlearned. They deserve to know there’s more to God than just salvation is that an amen. nor have they heard they can know God and Jesus be changed into the same image experience and see his glory and be given wisdom they haven’t heard that stuff they’re just hanging on to the rapture and there’s no rapture coming in their generation they’re hanging on to nothing.
Scripture in this part
1 Corinthians 12:8-10 (NKJV)
for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
— 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 15:20 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
— Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 15:29 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does 2 Peter 1:4 promise?
Short answer: Exceedingly great and precious promises, to partake of the divine nature: add to faith virtue, knowledge, self-control, patience, godliness, kindness and love. Teach the whole counsel of God.
▶ 16:24 It’s a distraction from the maturity and the inheritance of God in 2nd Peter 1:4 he says God has given us exceedingly great and precious promises that we may [unclear] be partakers of the divine nature of what the divine nature we’re changed into his image not that we are God and we can create things but we’re changed in his image and take on his nature his character how many would love to have the character of God yes. He’s given us exceedingly great and precious promises that we add to our faith so is there more after faith you would never think that in America because everybody is sold out on faith but add to your faith virtue goodness add to virtue knowledge add to knowledge self-control.
▶ 17:20 How many could use a little self-control especially with your mouth. Patience how many can use a little patience with yourself and with others yeah. And see it is a promise of God that we can add these things. godliness kindness are we kind to our family members or we just treat them like trash are we kind to people or do we just treat them like trash and then the top one is love. Love. Love is the goal. Paul taught the whole counsel of God church I submit to you we need to teach the whole counsel of God and we need to promote God coming and touching people and bringing them into his promises amen.
Scripture in this part
2 Peter 1:4-7 (NKJV)
by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
— 2 Peter 1:4-7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 16:30Acts 20:27 (NKJV)
For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.
— Acts 20:27 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:11 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Whom should we believe on?
Short answer: Jesus—not John, or a denomination’s or a minister’s doctrine. The Ephesians were rebaptized in Jesus; you’re baptized into his death, burial and resurrection.
▶ 18:28 They were baptized in John’s baptism Paul said you should believe on Jesus not John the Baptist and church you should believe on Jesus not the Baptist doctrine and the Assembly of God doctrine and not [unclear] doctrine and not Copeland’s doctrine you should be believing in Jesus and his doctrine no group no person. Can I hear an amen. They didn’t believe on Jesus and yet they were disciples wow another group that didn’t believe and when they heard they were what baptized in Jesus they got rebaptized unto Jesus. You know people say well I was baptized a Catholic I was baptized a Baptist I was [unclear]
Scripture in this part
Acts 19:4-5 (NKJV)
Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
— Acts 19:4-5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:34 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Who receives the Spirit?
Short answer: Paul laid hands on them and they spoke in languages and prophesied. Sons and daughters shall prophesy—hear a woman with a word from God; in Christ there is neither male nor female.
▶ 19:23 I was a Pentecostal. no you are baptized in Jesus Christ his death burial and resurrection. Amen and your faith cannot be in the Catholic church the Protestant church or minister your faith must be in who Jesus and we need to hear his voice amen. and get these promises Paul laid hands on them and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in languages my gosh today if they did that and a lot of churches they’d be thrown out. but they [unclear] spoke in languages not one. and [unclear] that’s what [unclear] Joel said in the last days I will pour out my spirit on all flesh and your sons and daughters shall what prophesy I shall what prophesy men and women there’s people [unclear] can handle women in the church but God says I’m gonna pour out my spirit on what your sons and your daughters no one is left out.
▶ 20:35 Amen and if a female’s got a word from God we need to hear it could that be true if God is talking through a female and [unclear] God’s talking through a male or whatever there’s some women that can’t handle males they call them feminists they want to put us down they’re always putting us down tv shows put men down all the time [unclear] watch them [unclear] blasted me because I’m male. yeah every dad’s a [unclear] in the tv don’t know what he’s doing yeah. [unclear] stupid shows I tell you God made us men perfect can I hear an amen men and God made women perfect can I hear an amen and in Christ there’s neither bond nor free male nor female rich or poor we all can have what these promises of God can that be an amen.
Scripture in this part
Acts 19:6 (NKJV)
And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
— Acts 19:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:49 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Galatians 3:28 (NKJV)
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
— Galatians 3:28 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 21:29 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Can ordinary members lay on hands?
Short answer: Yes—a church member prayed for him and the Holy Ghost welled up. It’s the principle, not the big name; you can impart a blessing.
▶ 21:39 Hallelujah. he laid hands on them three Sundays ago I was sick I came into the church and as people do John asked me how you doing I said I’m a little under the weather remember John he said well I’m [unclear] pray for you I’m not afraid to pray for you I’m a [unclear] man I’ll pray for you and he put his hand on me and started praying and the minute he put his hand on me started praying the Holy Ghost welled up within me I spoke in tongues to myself because it was a self edifying experience nobody needed to hear it and John didn’t even know he just prayed for me and John is no Moses he’s no Paul he’s just a member of the church that obeyed a principle and God come and ignited me. Laying on of hands is a Bible principle.
▶ 22:36 And. don’t think you got to be Mr. Mrs. Perfect. To operate the principle and God will use it if you wait for your perfection day it’s gonna be a while it may it may not even come in your lifetime. Amen but that’s the truth I’m telling you the truth I don’t even think John knew because I did everything [unclear]. But it ignited me it strengthened me and I got through the service great and everything what I’m saying is if John can lay hands on people and God will touch people folks you can. it’s not the big pastor it’s not the big name it’s the principle. God said you can lay hands on the sick you can lay hands on people and impart a blessing they don’t have to be sick you can just impart a blessing.
