▶ 0:00 We’d like to welcome all those this morning we are live online thank you for joining us online. It’s good to be in God’s house let’s find ours or find our places where we’re going to start with worship this morning so I get ready to stand and I’d like to invite you or remind you that when we come into God’s house we want to be our participant I participate in worship. Um we’re going to be participants in heaven and worship we’re going to be participants in the kingdom of God so right now we want to exercise that and be God’s people amen I encourage you the scriptures all throughout Psalms and everywhere show forth the people that are participants that are involved in giving thanks and praise to God and there is a great reward and fulfillment and amen so let’s stand and we’re going to worship God this morning.

▶ 9:58 Oh Lord some people without the history Lord of these events where people gave praise and thanks to you and God that you came and fought for them God but Lord if we exercise this principle today Lord it says that you will still freeze stop beat back and destroy the enemy in our lives gone when we give thanks and praise lift up your name down before the Lord our God and give him glory and honor he will come and fight for us Jesus America needs some beating back of the darkness in their life God o Lord darkness is reigning in people’s lives God we pray God Lord the people will pick up this great gift that we have from you Lord to rule and reign through praising you God and lifting your name Jesus amen.

▶ 27:13 Let me find your seats this morning what is our identity. We learned last week that we are made in his image we’re made in his likeness. We have the potential to obtain his nature. And we we see this because Adam and Eve they. They they listen to Satan they had there were two voices and they made a judgment they listened to Satan we have we have the ability to make a judgment man can be can be tempted just like Jesus was tempted by Satan but there are solutions for temptations and Jesus gave us examples of those solutions. In Exodus Ecclesiastes 7 29 it says man God made man upright but we have sought out many devices or inventions for evil.

▶ 28:11 And um last week we learned all of the important things about being in made in his image and it’s very important to understand that we’re not just here. By accident we’re not just a have no we we don’t just have. We have a lot of meaning we’re created in his likeness and in his image there is a purpose to us being created and today we’re going to be talking about the next thing that he says being made male and female Jesus Christ the savior it’s important to understand Jesus Christ when he was on the earth in red letters in the New Testament mark chapter 10 verse 6 he confirms what Genesis says and he says but from the beginning of creation God made them male and female Jesus didn’t say oh the Old Testament that old book says this no he said from the beginning God made them male and female Genesis 1:26 let us make man in our own image according to our likeness male and female he created them so he’s quoting out of the out of Genesis and other places in the Old Testament.

▶ 29:26 If you remember. Um. The valley of dry bones Ezekiel. Prophesied over the valley told to prophesy over the valley of dry bones and he was standing there at that valley of dry bones and they were just bones and bones is pretty close to dust right it’s quote that’s the next step the bones are going to dust. And God says he made man from the dust right and when when Ezekiel prophesied over the bones they didn’t come together over millions of years they came together bone to bone send you to sinew sinews came on the flesh flesh came on over the sinews and God breathed his spirit into them there within a few minutes moments whatever it was God made man.

▶ 30:24 Very shortly he brought them all back to life so in that example of Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones we were reminded that God didn’t take it didn’t take God millions of years to make Adam and Eve he spoke to that dust he may have fashioned it he used his hands I don’t know what he did but it happened right then and there God made Adam the first man with the potential. To obtain the nature of God.

▶ 30:58 And it says Jesus confirms that he created them male and female very important why male and female this is an interesting you know God could have come up with a different way for us to reproduce where we didn’t need to have a man woman together so why did he make this why did he set up male and female there’s a reason if we look at mark chapter 10 verse 7 this is right after Jesus is quoting the Old Testament and saying that we’re made male and female he starts to say for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife because we’re made male and female a man leaves his father and mother and his joined to his wife and the two become one flesh therefore God has joined together let not my man separate and that.

▶ 31:59 So right here at the beginning and when Jesus is quoting it he’s talking about when when God made Adam and Eve we have the the family being set up right from the very beginning and I’m going over this because the marriage and male and female the family that whole setup is uh. Something that Jesus God set up for the very purpose of being here on this planet. So when we turn our back on that goal that God created we’re turning our back on the very reason that God put us here the very reason that we are here our purpose. Marriage is very important.

▶ 32:54 Ephesians 5:30 we are members of his body. And Ephesians here Paul is writing and he says the same thing that Jesus said and the same thing that Genesis says and the same thing that God said to Adam for this reason a man shall leave his father his mother shall be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh and so here Paul adds a little more and he says this is a great mystery but I speak concerning Christ and the church so we’re getting some more information marriage that God set up making man and woman male and female he’s setting all this up it’s the great mystery. It’s it’s. A great mystery that God is revealing.

▶ 33:46 He created the family to illustrate his relationship with his people with us he created the family the marriage to illustrate his relationship with us with his church amen. The bride that is making herself ready to bear children to take care of the home to set up God set up the family to illustrate what he wants to do and why. If you remember God said about Adam saying it is not good that man should be alone I will make him a helper comparable to him so God is in the same boat he doesn’t want to be alone. He could be alone but he doesn’t want to be alone and he’s making a church that is comparable in some ways to come and know him amen.

▶ 34:53 In our world today everybody’s talking about coming out. And uh. We’re all into this everybody coming out of the closet and whatever they believe in whatever they’re doing but have we taken a look at what has come out and been revealed in the scriptures when the scriptures talk about the church the body he is also talking about his bride in Ephesians chapter 3 verse 3 says by Revelation he made known to me the mystery which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men so recently in our history it was not revealed until now until this is Paul writing so it’s revealed in his time. It’s been made known the mystery of Christ and his church it has now been revealed by the spirit to his holy apostles and prophets that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs so all this time is real thinks that they’re the chosen people that God is just looking for them but no Paul is confirming here the whole setup it’s for the whole world.

▶ 36:05 Me I get to be in this too I’m not a Jew I don’t know what I am but I get to be in it amen aren’t you thankful. The Gentiles should be fellow heirs of the same body there is no just there is no uh they are better than us Jewish people aren’t better than us because we’re Gentile we’re the same and we are partakers of his promise in Christ through the gospel powerful we are partakers of his promise don’t you want to be a partaker of his promise I want to be a partaker of his promise I want to be an heir I want to be in the same body you know Stephen Peter Paul those guys were all Jews but I when I read their stuff I don’t think that I’m any different.

And we shouldn’t think that way we’re just like them we want to know Jesus Christ and how to get to him amen we do you have a desire to know Christ Colossians chapter 1 verse 18 he Jesus is the head of the body the church. They’re all the same identity. And so we want to be reminded and ask the question you know have we looked into the things that God has revealed to to people in our country today are we looking into the things that have come out from the scriptures that that the promise is for you. That you can be part of his church that he is building and that there is no distinction there is no uh partiality between you and the chosen people of Israel.

▶ 38:00 Anybody that says in another religion whether it’s Islam or Hinduism oh that they’re special because of of their bloodline or this or that no no no God is revealing and saying I uh we can all be partakers Gentiles everyone can be a partaker of his promise and be the same body. Looking at the marriage. There is a commitment in marriage to be responsible. There’s a commitment in marriage to be accountable there’s a commitment to be involved it’s when you’re married there’s a lot of work you have to do you got to be involved in your children’s lives you got to be involved to raise them and the nurture and admonition of the Lord you got to be involved to take care of your your spouse and the needs of that home we have to be faithful.

▶ 38:53 That means staying with that person you’re faithful to them you stay true to them. We have to love them not demand our own way. Patient being kind. Be loyal. Honest trustworthy. Respectful to our spouse. Not bringing not committing adultery doing drugs and bringing in drugs into your marriage and uh you know all the things that bring harm and hurt into a marriage we’ve got to keep the home maintain it you know I know all about that I feel like every time I go home and I got the kids I’m just I’m just going to town like oh there’s a dish there’s this and there’s a there’s that oh there’s that there’s something to do I I walk around I just put my hands out and stuff just comes in my hands.

▶ 39:49 And you just walk around oh there’s oh look at all this stuff in my hands it needs to be cleaned up. You walk in a room oh this needs to be you know okay okay well here we go. Things to repair. There’s a lot of good men here that are great at repairing stuff a good keep a good and safe atmosphere a calm atmosphere a loving atmosphere you know or the goal is to not when in a marriage you don’t want it to be a an angry atmosphere or a scary atmosphere right. The husband and wife you got to be careful how you act with your kids around and how you behave and how you talk okay you can hurt your children by by the way you talk and the way you handle yourself it’s important to keep it good and safe environment and the woman to the spouse as well you know if you threaten each other that’s not good that’s not safe there’s no love there.

▶ 40:57 We have a responsibility to raise our kids right you know when you come home after work you got to work again there’s there’s there’s work to be done. In attending to your children medical needs the play needs kids have a need to play it’s true kids need to play there’s got to be time to play there’s got to be time to uh you know enjoy time with the kids. Kids need to be fed I gotta come up with some new meals my my meals are getting old I gotta I gotta talk to miss woods and add some meals to my my plan the going to the bar the nightclubs neglecting your family you know we get selfish and we think oh you know this life is about me I get to the kids are just in the way that’s the wrong kind of mentality we don’t want to neglect our children and our family you don’t want to neglect and you know you’ve got to put those kids as a priority in raising them right being an example to them they’re watching you they’re going to hear they’re going to hear what you say they’re going to follow what you do because and they’re innocent.

▶ 42:10 They’re in they’re influenceable they’re they’re impressionable right now kids are being impressed on. And we’re influencing our kids to do things that are wrong. It’s not good. We’ve got to work to provide clothing shelter. So we’re reminded of this marriage in the lifetime commitment that we make to our spouse and our future future home you can’t just sit back in a marriage and and a relationship and think you know press the autopilot button uh I went to work I brought my money I’m gonna do I’m on autopilot now you you have to be involved in that relationship you have to take time and put time and effort into that relationship or it’s just going to unravel.

▶ 43:03 It’s going to fall apart you have to put effort into a relationship whether it’s with your kids or with your spouse or whoever it’s with you’ve got to put time effort love you’ve got to invest. And it’s the same way with Christ Jesus. We have to take time we have to do some work we have to set aside time in our lives. Right to be faithful to God to love God to be honest and trustworthy toward God you make a commitment to God you keep it if you mess up thank God he died on the cross so you can say God forgive me and then you keep it again amen. Be respectful to God that’s called the fear of the Lord do we respect our God do we respect and we fear do we want to honor our God.

▶ 44:04 Has a home he has a church that he’s building are we involved in keeping that home repairing that home keeping it going making sure it’s a good and a safe atmosphere because people come in and they cause can cause harm and hurt. Are we lazy with God are we wasting his resources and his money on what we want to do with our lives are we just using God to get money in our lives amen. Are we raising his children right. Are we just being selfish and doing what we want so you there’s a lot of work involved amen and there’s a lot of work involved in the church it’s just it’s just common sense right it makes sense there’s work involved in a marriage there’s work involved in a commitment to Christ.

▶ 45:00 John 17:3 this is eternal life that they may know you the only true God in Jesus Christ whom he has sent we know that we have. That we have come to know him if we obey his commands. He who does not do what he says what he commands and says they know him is a liar the truth is not in him. And that’s how we know if somebody knows God. Are they keeping his command somewhere you’ve got to have your own conscience your own convictions to keep his commands if his commands are bothering you they make you they gave you make you angry you have a problem. You’ve got to come to Christ if you want to argue with him then come down on your knees and you argue with God and you say God I don’t like this about you and he’s just going to come back with I love you.

▶ 46:00 Well I’m not going to tell you what he’s going to come back with but you need to come to Christ you got to come before him and and if you got a problem and you’re angry at God you need to come down to the altar and meet with him and talk with him spend time with him you know that’s what you do in a relationship if you’ve got a problem what do you do you come together and you talk about it and you’ve got to work it out right. And it’s you know maybe you think it’s not fair because Jesus is always right. You know you come on you come to Jesus you’re like you know you think you’re right about something you come to Jesus and he’s like like no I’m right I was well I can’t handle that. Of course you know that’s why men have no problem when Jesus says he’s right he’s like okay you’re right no I’m joking I’m joking men are are just as bad they think they’re right they’re or just as bad.

▶ 47:00 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus walked. And so it’s very important to have a commitment to Christ have a commitment to obeying his word his truth his commands. Mark chapter 5 verse 30. Jesus immediately knowing in himself that virtue has gone out of him turned turned him. This old king James version turned around and he said who touched me and he was in a crowd who touched me and it was this woman who had the issue of blood as you know she was healed but in this statement virtue had gone out of him in a marriage relationship there is an exchange for of life from one person to the other and it brings forth life and it’s the same way with Christ he virtue goes out of him and life is given to us to us.

▶ 48:00 But we have to go and are we touching Jesus that’s the question who touched me are we reaching out to Christ where are we putting ourselves where do we go where are we taking ourselves on Sunday or any other day of the week are we spending time with Christ. Do we inhabit his praises do we pray do we hear his spoken word or or read his word do we put it on us do we seek God that’s what this woman is illustrating and when you do that you’re going to find life. In him. You may not find a healing like this woman did but you’re going to find life and that is more important than anything because when you die you want to be with Christ you’re going to be with the one that you were created to be with. Christ is fulfilling like we were saying earlier he is life.

▶ 48:57 He says I’m the way the truth and the life I am these things he’s not just the creator who created us and threw us down on the planet and said here. Have fun no no no no no. We’re created for him we are his people the sheep of his pasture unto him shall the gathering of the people be we are created for him he stayed on that cross and he hung on that cross because we are his inheritance he wants us. And he has life and gives life to his people. In him is no darkness amen there’s a beauty. Jesus is more than just having it’s it’s more than just having knowledge about who the creator is and why we’re here it’s about knowing Christ that’s what’s important monica chapter 6 verse 8.

▶ 49:53 We also in a marriage in our commitment to Christ want to do good to God and for God in Matthew 5:16 it says let your light so shine before man that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven we have to act in a good and a right way for the world to see to glorify God in heaven amen. In Micah 6 8. Very good scripture here I always remember this scripture is powerful he has shown you what is good what does the Lord require of you but to do justly to love mercy to walk humbly with your God not just walk humbly but walk humbly with your God amen you come before God you hum we humble ourselves we come before God with humility not pride amen.

▶ 50:55 We come we love mercy we’re we have some mercy to our kids we have mercy to one another people that walk in and they may not know Christ at all but we have mercy amen just like God has mercy you know somebody comes in they’re they’re doing drugs they’re drinking and stuff they’re not they need time to change they need some what mercy. From God and from his people. For a time. To do justly. First Chronicles 15 1. David prepared a place for the ark of God.

▶ 51:49 Is preparing his people we also prepare ourselves for the art for for God are we making in 1 Corinthians 3:16 it says we are the temple of God and the spirit of God dwells in us are we preparing ourselves are we making room for God if you remember the story of the shunamite woman when Elisha would come around she said that this is a man of God and she told her husband hey honey. Can we make us a room for him. So when he comes he can stay at. And uh doesn’t say why she did it but she wanted the man of God in her house dwelling her house and she would take care of him and feed him and give him food and uh.

▶ 52:47 It’s the same way with us. God is walking by. You remember the story of Jesus walking by the boat on the water right it says that he was going to pass by. On the road to emmaus he was just gonna keep walking from those two men he was just gonna keep going but they stopped him. Are we stopping Jesus are we making room for Jesus Christ in our lives do we set aside time for him no matter what your age is. We are the temple we’ve been created for him Luke chapter 117 John will go to make ready a people prepared for the Lord John the baptist talking about John the baptist coming and making a people prepared.

▶ 53:40 For the Lord he’s going he’s going to come and the spirit and power of Elijah to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the disobedience to the wisdom of the just and he’s making ready a people prepared for the Lord are we responding to that word from John the baptist from Christ how do we respond are we turning our hearts. To our children. Are we. Listening to the wisdom of that is from God. And he prepares us with his Holy Spirit he prepares us with gifts his gifts he prepares us with the word he prepares us with the fruit of the spirit. Second Timothy chapter 2 verse 21.

▶ 54:39 Says if anyone cleanses himself he will be a vessel for honor sanctified and useful for the master prepared for every good work. And so are we in our commitment to Christ in our marriage commitment to Christ are we offering ourselves as a vessel to honor. To be sanctified set apart. And useful for the master. Are we preparing ourselves for every good work. Useful that means you have to put a little time into learning a skill. You got to be able to uh. You know there’s some preparation involved last weekend on Friday and Sunday we went out to the parks and just shared tried to witness basically.

▶ 55:39 And we had to prepare that it took you know getting some snow cone stuff together and having some papers ready to for people to fill out and and being willing to just put yourself and be a vessel. And people went over those scriptures and you got to review it with them and say hey have you read this before do you want to accept Jesus in your heart you do want to accept Jesus. And sometimes they’re like yes and I’ll ask him like three times are you sure do you understand what I’m saying do you want to accept Jesus today right now like yes. But it takes some skill it takes some preparation. You’ve got to get things ready right. You have to make yourself available for that time.

▶ 56:32 You can do it on your own but or with the church you can do with whoever but you’ve got to make time for it you’ve got to prepare yourself for it and you got to go out and do it. While they went to buy the bridegroom came and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding and the door was shut in Matthew chapter 25 verse 10 so it’s important that we make ourselves ready. Are we making ourselves ready that’s what God is asking us this morning. We are responsible to worship pray tithe fast assemble in God’s house speak the word minister and serve in the church to reach people and mature them to become his bride. In our involvement in the past in nursery and children’s church worship that we do teenage programs that we’ve had you know that’s all because we want people to come in to know Christ and grow and mature that’s the goal amen.

▶ 57:46 Romans 2:23. We make you make your boasts and the law do you dishonor God through breaking the law the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you as it is written. And this is going back to the 10th one of the ten commandments that says take not his name in vain. Right. Somebody who takes on the name of Christ and says yes I’m a Christian or yes I follow God but they don’t do what God says they don’t follow what God says in this case you have the Jews of the religious people who were saying that they were religious saying that they believed in God but anytime Jesus spoke when later you’ll see when Stephen spoke they just they got so upset that they lost their mind they broke the law and they try to say oh no the law allows me to go after these people and punch him right in the face and kill him and stone them.

▶ 58:58 No. No. Remember what Jesus said he said on uh. That the the law and the prophets they hang on love. Love you can’t just go around killing people. Acts chapter 7 verse 54 so they’re breaking God they were breaking the law and they’re blaspheming the name of God because among the Gentiles they’re being a horrible example to the Gentiles and the Gentiles look at what they’re doing and they’re saying why am I going to follow them. They’re not keeping God’s law. Acts chapter 7 54 when Stephen was talking to the Sanhedrin they heard these things they were convicted cut to the heart and they got angry and responded in anger they came after Stephen they wanted to kill him and they did they stoned Stephen.

▶ 1:00:01 Said I see the heavens open the son of man standing at the right hand of God. I want to see heaven open. I want to see heaven open in our time amen don’t you want to see heaven open don’t you want to see God come down and do his mighty work in our in our land even if it’s just in a little group. They stoned Stephen as he was calling on God saying Lord receive my spirit. And also here is this how we treat each other today have we gotten so uh. Are we so. Immature. That we act violently.

▶ 1:00:57 An attack. The church today when they speak what they think is truth. You know when the church comes out and they’re they have convictions they think this is the truth and they’re speaking from the scriptures and it’s backed up by two or three witnesses in the scriptures and you get angry and you want to be violent and you want to attack you are wrong and that we have that today it’s not right. This is a big problem. We’ve got to grow we’ve got to grow out of that. In a marriage commitment you leave your father and mother and you’re joined to your spouse.

▶ 1:01:51 1 Peter 2:9. You should show forth the praises of him who’ve called you out of darkness into his marvelous light so just like you leave your evil mother and father I’m just kidding. Just like you leave your mother and father you leave the old life you leave the old ways you leave the the old life is it it has the kingdom of darkness in it I’m not saying your parents are the kingdom of darkness and they’re evil but God is calling you to come with him out of darkness into his marvelous light it’s the same thing. Who’s delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of his dear son Colossians 1:13. Ephesians chapter 2 verse 2 in time past you walked according to the course of this world according to the prince of the power of the air but now the spirit works and the children and the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.

▶ 1:02:54 So we’re called out of darkness we’re called out from the world just like our marriage commitment we leave our father mother we’re joined to our spouse and we’re reiterating here the point of God creating us male and female it’s the mystery of Christ and his church when you reject that when we reject that uh that institution that God created it’s more than an institution it’s everything. God made us male and female God set up the marriage he set up the family that is everything. No wonder communism wants to break up the family no wonder all this that’s the Devil the Devil wants to break up the family why because it shows forth why we’re created why we’re here what we’re doing here.

▶ 1:03:56 What is your purpose purpose driven life what is your purpose are you here. To commit yourself. To Christ Jesus because he he has set up natural examples to show the world why we’re here and what we are doing what we should be doing amen. Luke chapter 16 verse 10 he who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much he who is unjust in what his least isn’t just in much if you want someone who is faithful if you’re looking for a spouse looking for a mate find someone who’s faithful and little things. Amen if there’s faithful and little things they’ll be faithful in big things if they’re unjust and not faithful in small things they’re going to be unfaithful in big things.

▶ 1:05:00 Deuteronomy 5:7 you shall have no other gods before me and so it’s important that we stay faithful to Christ Jesus. It’s important for us to be faithful to God and this all uh this example of marriage points to the the laws that God made it points to everything that we are here for we’re not supposed to have other gods you know if you are using your body to give praise to uh the kingdom of darkness you know what where do you spend time giving God praise and thanks you spend time giving God glory through praise and worship or are you using your body to give praise to the world. You know that’s what you do when you go out in the world and you’re going to the club and you’re doing your dance and you’re shaking your booty it’s all about you it’s all about the world it’s all about making yourself feel good that’s not giving glory to God.

▶ 1:06:03 Right. So this morning we are again reminded. Yeah we’re created male and female and those who are listening that may not know God or whatever state you’re in young people today were faced with this this big question and this big argument that’s going on in our world today and our country in our friends and the people that we know this big argument is going on we want to remind you you’ve been created male and female.

▶ 1:06:57 Our whole existence here our whole reason for being here is that we are supposed to be committed to Jesus Christ and that is shown in being created male and female God setting up the marriage of that that shows and points to the the marriage between Christ and his church. That’s why Jesus died on the cross so he could inherit us. It says that in Psalms it says that throughout the scriptures he wants us. It’s so important. Are we committed to do justly to love mercy to walk humbly it says what does the Lord require of you there’s some requirements amen.
