What have we learned about Job so far?

▶ Watch this part (30:16)

Short answer: Job was blameless and upright; he lost his employees, wealth and children, yet worshiped God and did not sin with his lips. It was Satan’s hand.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 30:16 Amen we’re going to talk about uh we’re going to go on in our story of Job here God talks back is what this one is titled and uh you. Know God talks. Back and just to review real quick we learned that Job was blameless and uh we know this because God said it himself in talking to the Devil my goodness what a conversation. Job was blameless and upright one who feared God and shunned evil he feared God he departed from evil he kept it out of his life he was blameless and upright man.

▶ 31:09 Wow uh he lost his employees his wealth all his children died and yet he worshiped God he thanked um he did not sin with his lips against God or charge God for any wrong he thought it was God from the start but we learned it was Satan’s hand and the first session we learned that he was afraid of losing his relationship with God very important last week we learned that we can have a friend in God just like Moses just like the scriptures promis we can have a friend in Christ Jesus so we see here someone who has an example of how to handle tragedy very well now what I didn’t balance out out last the last two sessions or I didn’t bring up is that there that God has promised in the scriptures blessings both spiritual and natural in Numbers 6: 24 it says the Lord bless you and keep you Lord make his face shine upon you Philippians 4:19 my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus now you know God is rich he owns the cattle on a thousand hills everything is his and so my God it says my God will supply every need of yours so we see there’s some promises.

▶ Watch this part (32:39)

Short answer: Yes; if He clothes the grass, will He not much more clothe you? Seek first the kingdom, and God can be tested in the tithe.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 32:39 Here Jesus in red letters in Matthew chapter 6:30 he said if God so clothes the grass of the field with will he not much more clothe you do not be anxious do not worry about these things your heavenly father knows that you need them all now this is of course you know you’re following God’s word right you know you’re not you know not working and and just saying oh God rain down hamburgers from heaven you know I remember growing up and being with mr barnes and he would talk to young people he’s like you got a Job you you’re doing something he’s like I pray for I pray I remember a young person I pray for money and uh that’s not it that’s not a balanced scripture there you got to work Bible says six days shall you work that’s one of the 10. Commandments if do not be anxious your heavenly father knows that you need them all but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you and part of seeking and doing what is right is working so you got to remember and include that uh righteousness is doing what is right according to God’s.

▶ 33:53 Word seek ye first the kingdom of God the kingdom of God is righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Spirit Malachi 3:10 bring the full tithe into the storehouse put me to the test says the Lord if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need so here we have another promise and God is saying that we can put him to the test in tithing and a tithing is a tenth of what you bring in and uh I remember as a young person my father would teach me. Michael you need to. Tithe and uh it’s uh for those that tithe you know that God it does bless us and it’s a very good uh thing that you can operate in your life and God does do what he said now what should we want we want to understand here is that Job is experiencing all of these blessings.

What are spiritual blessings?

▶ Watch this part (34:57)

Short answer: Every spiritual blessing in Christ: the Lord as Shepherd, restoring the soul, no fear in the valley of death, unlike a billionaire who is scared to die.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 34:57 Right he has a bunch of people he’s got camels he’s got sheep he’s got a lot of stuff going on he’s got children they’re all doing great and life is good he is being blessed for following and doing what’s right he’s tithing he’s giving unto God. Right Ephesians chapter 1:3 who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places so it’s not just natural things you also have a spirit your mind it needs healing it needs help right your spirit needs to be alive and God provides spiritual blessing those that don’t have God don’t know God don’t receive these spiritual blessings the rich man who has no idea who God is he doesn’t know anything about spiritual.

▶ 35:55 Blessings the Lord is my my shepherd he makes me to lie down in green pastures he leads me beside still waters he restores refreshes my soul though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I fear no evil can you imagine a billionaire who doesn’t know God who’s rich ready to die he is. Scared he is afraid why because he doesn’t know what’s going to happen to him he has no security he has no eternal security or destin ation it’s not looking good for. Him but this is a spiritual blessing that you can walk through the foul through through death and come out alive in heaven living with him. Amen he makes me lie down in green pastures there’s food in a green pasture it’s not a desert it’s all what I mean you can lie down oh you wake up oh eat a little food I’m ready to go.

Who yields fruit in season?

▶ Watch this part (36:58)

Short answer: The one who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly but delights in the law of the Lord; that is the fruit of the Spirit.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 36:58 He leads me beside still. Waters it’s peaceful you can have. Peace he refreshes and restores my soul how many know people that don’t have any restoration in their soul how many know you’ve gone through times where you needed refreshing and God brought it it’s a spiritual blessing blessed is the one who does not. What is it does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly does not sit in the seat of the scornful does not stand in the path of sinners but his delight is in the law of the Lord you can take this Psalms 1 and you can print it out every day read it and that will be a goal for your lifetime.

▶ 37:50 It says this person that rejects the path of the sinners that doesn’t listen to the counsel of the ungodly that doesn’t stand in the path of sinners or sit in the seat of scornful their delight they if they put their delight in the law of the Lord they will yield fruit in its season and their leaf will not wither talking about the fruit of the spirit love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self-control if you want to increase in these things God will bless you with them if you delight in his law and so Job is experiencing all of this he has been blessed financially he’s been blessed naturally and he has been blessed spiritually we know this because he had a relationship with.

Why does God test the righteous?

▶ Watch this part (38:45)

Short answer: He doesn’t bother testing the wicked; testing is for those who seek God, so they can learn, grow and be better on the other end.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 38:45 God. Right he said I know my redeemer lives he had spiritual. Blessing. Amen but he lost. Lo a lot of his possessions he lost his children and he was searching for God and could not find him so this spiritual blessing that he had this all these things he he something had changed what is. Happening in Psalms 11:5 it says the Lord tests the righteous but the wicked and the one who loves violence his soul. Hates Genesis ch 22 verse1 it came to pass that God tested Abraham.

▶ 39:39 So even though God has all these promises to bless you naturally and spiritually there’s also this thing called what. Testing and he doesn’t even bother testing the wicked because the wicked will not. Respond the point of testing is that the people that are seeking God and want to do what is right can learn from the testing grow from the testing and be better on the other end through the testing you have searched me and known me try me know my anxieties to see if there’s any wicked way in me and leave me in the way everlasting it says that in Psalms 13923 now when I come across this Psalm I’m like hey that’s for David not for me okay I’m not saying that you need to do any more work on testing me okay hold on wait a second.

How does God refine us?

▶ Watch this part (40:47)

Short answer: As silver is refined and gold is tested, so we can offer to the Lord in righteousness; obedience is better than sacrifice.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 40:47 You know I’m not I don’t like to invite God if he’s you know he he’s got a calendar he can test me on his calendar I don’t want to add any more places on the calendar. Right but there is testing is important Zechariah chapter 13:9 he was going to refine us as silver is refined and test us as gold is tested he will sit as a refiner he will purge them as gold is purge that they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness so he’s talking about the children of Israel the children of Israel they were following God and then they wouldn’t follow God they would come back to God and then they would go away from God again and God keeps testing them wide so he can bring them back to offer an offering in righteousness one of the things that he told Saul or that Samuel told Saul was that I desire what remind me what ises what does it say I can’t can’t remember Samuel told Saul.

▶ 42:01 That obedience thank you obedience is better than sacrifice and so when we offer our offerings God wants us to offer it in obedience while we are obeying him you don’t want to come into God’s house and you’re living the wicked life and you’re rejecting him and you offer uh something unto him it’s like come on man. Get with the program that’s not going to get you in you can’t just throw money at God and expect him to oh you threw you threw you gave money oh you’re in the billionaire gave a million dollars to the church oh now he’s going to get sick no that’s not how it. Works God does not take a ransom it says in the scriptures he accepts no ransom.

Is there a blessing in testing?

▶ Watch this part (42:57)

Short answer: Yes; blessed is the man who endures temptation, for he will receive the crown of life, and the genuineness of faith is more precious than gold.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 42:57 And James chapter 1:12 says that there is a blessing in testing wow so you can get blessing naturally you can get blessing spiritually and you get that blessing from serving God but then there’s also a blessing in. Testing but you know I don’t like. Testing I don’t necessarily think it’s very fun but there is a blessing in it in James 1:12 says blessed is the man who endures temptation for when he has been approved he will receive the crown of life and that coincides with what he said in. Revelation giving uh those who overcome the crown of life that’s exactly what it’s talking about here it’s confirmed which the Lord has promised to those who love him do we love Jesus when you’re standing there and uh while you’re up in heaven do you want to have a crown on your head that you can cast before him the Bible says that they cast their crowns before Jesus right yeah I want to have something to cast even if it’s a little tiara a little bitty crown I’ll take that here God this is yours I only got this because of you I cast my crown down don’t you want to have.

▶ 44:25 Something. The crown of life 1 Peter 1:7 that the genuineness of your faith being much more precious than gold though it is tested by fire may be found to praise honor and glory at the Revelation of Jesus Christ so God has a goal here. Right he wants to make you stronger he wants to improve you he wants to improve us he wants to make us stronger and that’s what the testing does it makes us more. Pure Deuteronomy 8:2 the Lord your God led you all the way through the wilderness for 40 years to humble you to test you to know what was in your heart whether you would keep his commandments or not now you have to remember when Jesus was on the earth he knew everyone’s thoughts he knows what’s in your mind he knows what you’re.

Why does God test what is in our heart?

▶ Watch this part (45:28)

Short answer: He already knows; it’s so we know. A bad thought isn’t sin until it comes out, and God corrects us because He loves us.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 45:28 Thinking and it’s not sin until it comes out right until it comes out you know thinking a bad thought is not a sin it’s when it comes out of your mouth or when you do something that’s when it becomes a sin and that’s why you want to handle stuff in your mind before it comes. Out but here. He’s saying to know what is in your heart he already knows what’s in our heart it’s so that we know and we recognize what is in our heart so that we can change so that we can adjust so that we can address the things that God is showing us whether you’re going to keep his commandments or not he wants you to see whether or not you’re going to keep his commandments and if you see that and that concerns you you oh man I got to change this in my life I got to get rid of that in my life this situation is not good I need to I need to change.

▶ 46:36 That because I want to keep serving. God so he humbled you he allowed you to hunger he fed you with mana which you did not know nor did your fathers. Know to know that man shall not live by bread alone but by lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. God you should know in your heart that as man chastens his son so the Lord chastens you and God uh corrects us because he loves us that’s how you know you’re his son if you’re getting corrected by God you know that you are a child of God if you’re not getting corrected by God and you’re living the wicked life you know it said earlier that he ha his soul hates that and you don’t want to be that I don’t want to be that no no thank you I’d rather take some testing I’d rather take uh some humbling and come before God and submit myself to him yes God show.

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: The service opens with a long worship set and a special song (“Red Letters”), lyrics as captioned; the message begins at about 30:16. He cites “Psalms 11:5” and “Ephesians chapter 1:3”.
