▶ 0:01 Those online we want to thank you for joining us this morning we’re going to begin reading out of Psalms 85. Now we’re going to start worship this morning we’re going to exercise worship using our nine ways to worship up here on this on the banner lifting our hands clapping our hands playing instruments standing bowing clapping dancing speaking shouting and singing as the scriptures say. But this morning we’re going to look at Psalms 85. Lord you’ve been favorable to our land you have brought back the captivity of Jacob you have forgiven the iniquity of our people you have covered all our sin has Jesus covered all our sin this morning thank the Lord amen. You have taken away all your wrath oh my gosh hallelujah you have turned from the fierceness of your anger and then it says something very important and powerful says restore us o God of our salvation.

▶ 1:04 Whatever situation in you’re in right now whatever your spiritual condition is Christ can restore you can bring you back from where you may be the situation you’re in whatever state you are in God wants to restore you and bring you back to life amen just like Lazarus who is dead in the tomb God what he restored him and he said Lazarus come forth hallelujah. Cause your anger toward us to cease will you not revive us again show us your mercy o Lord I will hear what the Lord will speak for he will speak peace to his people surely his salvation is near to those who fear him do you fear God this morning if you fear God his salvation can be near you do you fear God this morning you fear his word do you not want to offend Christ.

▶ 34:31 And then one night I met Jesus for myself. And he was real and he came he’s real this morning as powerful his presence was here amen. So we’re going to talk about we’re going to get in the message this morning is love a lie and uh three weeks ago or two weeks ago. This question is very important because a lot of people are trying to define what love is and what harm is. Jesus and the scriptures have a standard. And we must follow the standard. So we can’t be deceived by the world’s message today Christ has clearly defined it in the scriptures specifically he has defined it in the ten commandments and more commandments in the Bible mainly.

▶ 35:33 If you need some direction in your life and if you need to summarized list of what to do you keep those ten commandments and that is a great starting point for your life and how to treat people and how to love people and not harm one another amen. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever it says in for in John chapter 1 that he is the word and that means if Jesus hasn’t changed then the word has not changed either. And we don’t want the word we don’t want to go along with what the world is doing with love and harm we’ve got to stick with what Jesus says and what the word says Romans 3:4 let God be say that true.

And so we got to understand today in our day that lies are being spoken and we’ve got to be able to identify and God gives it very simple ways to identify he’s got his ten commandments and the Bible Proverbs 3:12 we also learned that the scriptures say that whom the Lord loves he corrects just as a father the son in whom he delights so we learned that love correction from God is love we also it also says it in Hebrews chapter 12 verse 7 God deals with us as sons chastening or correcting us for our prophet that we might be partakers of his holiness so God has a goal for you and for me and he’s going to correct you till he brings you to the place where you are a what partaker of say that holiness.

▶ 37:21 But also in these scriptures we understand that God sees us as his children we are his children we are his sons and daughters. So is love a lie is God a liar no God is love and when he looks at you he sees you as his child. And many people understand this relationship some don’t some didn’t have a good father growing up or a good mother so they don’t understand the love from a parent but you got to understand when God does something he does it the best so when God says he’s your father he is the best father the whole and the whole wide world amen. And so if you’re looking for love and you have not met Christ and you have not given yourself over to God I suggest it is imperative in your life that you go and submit yourself to him and make him your father God’s love is higher Galatians 3:26.

▶ 38:35 Paul confirms this you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus so we are understanding here that the scripture is talking about being a son a child of God there is neither Jew nor Gentile there’s neither slave nor free there is neither male nor female for you are all one in Christ Jesus now he’s not saying that there is no male or female that’s not what he’s saying Jesus already quoted the scriptures a while ago and he said that at the beginning God made us male and female right but when he says that we are sons of God he doesn’t look at you he’s not looking at you whether you’re male or female he looks at your spirit he’s looking at your heart and your spirit doesn’t have male or female your spirit is your spirit and it is eternal.

▶ 39:28 And you belong to him and he also says in this scripture heirs according to the promise so not only are we sons but because we are sons and children of God we are also heirs and that means that we inherit. What God has for us his promises. Amen. A father does some main things he provides food clothing shelter education love. And in the scriptures in job chapter 23 verse 12. It says I have not departed from the commandment of his lips I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my necessary food so job here he likens God’s word to food and he says that God’s worth is so important to me it’s more important than my necessary food.

▶ 40:30 Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered Satan when Satan came to test Jesus one of his responses was it is written men shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God did you hear that I just heard it right now when I put this message together I didn’t hear that did you hear that man. Does that include the world and people that are sinning yeah it’s the whole world mankind men and women children everyone on this planet we belong to him we shall not live by bread alone but by every what word. That proceeds from the mouth of God. And many people today are rejecting his word and God is asking us this morning are you rejecting his word.

▶ 41:31 Are you living by bread alone later on we’re going to have some food are you just living by that food alone. What about your spiritual man the spirit inside of you the one that will live forever you gotta remember that when you die your body dies but your spirit lives forever. What is keeping that spirit alive what is making that spirit grow are you dead is your spirit dead because if it is when you stand before God he’s going to say you are dead in trespasses and sins you’re a worker of iniquity depart from me I never knew you so you we as people as creations of God part of the things that were put in us were his spirit we have to respond to that word like Lazarus was dead he’s it’s an example of being spiritually dead he responded that he awoke and you’ve got to not wake up and be woke to the world and to the latest society and the latest uh gimmick or idea you got to be woke to Jesus Christ when he calls you wake up.

▶ 42:51 Wake up. Pursue him. Get on the bandwagon of something that is that is eternal. You got to remember this this world is spinning this globe is spinning it’s gonna end one day it’s not eternal. Don’t get on some hobby horse like it’s some big thing we’re not gonna be around forever folks elon musk wants us to go to mars to live so he can keep consciences going it’s gonna end. It’s all going to end it’s not eternal stop focusing on this world. Or you you have to. You have to you gotta work you got to provide but the priority is.

▶ 43:46 Eternal the priority is Christ amen if you have no priority for Jesus Christ for his word for living for him for following his commandments if that is nowhere in your goals and your priorities you’ve got a problem. Amen. Clothing a father provides clothing she is not afraid in Proverbs 31 of snow for her household for all her household is clothed with scarlet scarlet is red. Scarlet represents the blood of Jesus Christ. That was shed for you and for me Isaiah 61 verse 3 the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness God has provided clothing for his people we have to take the opportunity when you come in if you just sit in the pews you go to church and you sit down you are dropping your garment of praise.

▶ 44:40 And God loves you he has provided these things for you don’t reject it don’t leave it on the ground pick it up put it on like this morning we did amen we praise God and he came he was here and he’s here now. Revelation 7:14 he said to me these are the ones who come out of the great tribulation and wash their robes made them white in the blood of lamb am I off okay. God is providing clothing for his people Joel 3 16 the Lord will be a shelter for his people. Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble therefore here we go therefore we will not fear.

▶ 45:35 Though the earth be what removed. Though the mountains be what carried in the midst of the sea though the waters what roar. And be troubled though the climate what changes. Whatever happens what we’re not gonna want fear. You think God can’t see the future and look down the future and see what’s going to happen don’t be afraid. God knows what’s going on. Though the mountains shake with its swelling. I bring this up because there’s a lot of alarms going off in our country regarding the climate whether they are right or wrong we don’t need to live in fear and that doesn’t need to be our priority our priority needs to be heavenly eternal things.

▶ 46:31 If all you’re doing is prioritizing those things you have got the wrong priorities. If you’re able to keep this world going but you are sending you’re going to hell and you’re bringing taking people to hell with you you have got your priorities mixed up. Proverbs 22:6 train up a child in the way he should go when he’s old he will not depart from Ephesians 6:4 your fi you fathers do not provoke your children to rap but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord as parents we are responsible to do this. Your appearance are responsible to bring you up in the way you should go as a parent you’re responsible to bring up your child in the way they should go you’re responsible to train them in the fear of God remember the Bible says that children are a gift.

▶ 47:28 And you got to treat them that way but God also is wanting to raise you up and train you up in the way you should go if you don’t have parents training you in the way you should go God wants to train you in the way you should go. That’s why he came and he taught Matthew mark Luke and John he’s sitting there he’s teaching the people he’s showing them how to get to the kingdom of God we have to listen we got to hear and respond to his teaching. And so we see here in just these few scriptures that God has provided food his scriptures his word for us he’ll also he also cares about your natural body. It says in the scriptures to study to show yourself approved he encourages us young people to set goals to work the Bible says.

▶ 48:29 He wants to encourage you to improve your life to get a good job to own a bit whatever it is but provide for yourself. He he provides his word he provides clothing his blood the garment of praise and I’m sure those other garments I didn’t mention but he has them for you and for me. Education. God came and taught so is love a lie no. God is love does God love us yes is love a lie definitely not. Galatians 4:6 going on to the spirit of God because you are sons this song this morning we sang I’m a child of God yes I am remember that song I’m a child of God yes I am the scriptures say that many times as we started out this morning you are sons God has sent forth the spirit of his son into your hearts.

▶ 49:35 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son and if a son then an heir of God through Christ so we’re repeating basically the scripture that we started with here we are sons of God and also heirs and remember when God looks at you he sees neither male nor female you’re his child he he doesn’t care. Romans 8:14 as many as are led by the spirit of God they are the sons of God so we see here it confirms that when you receive the spirit of God. Sees you as his child his son how many of you guys want to be a child of God I do I don’t want to be a child of the other guy. He double hockey sticks.

▶ 50:31 John 1:12. As many as received him to them he gave power to become the sons of God to them that believe in his name. And as was spoken this morning. See this is the problem with knowing the message you know you kind of you you tell it before even say it but as mentioned this morning Cornelius. He was a man that was a good man in his community he did what was right he also cared about God he had followed his conscience. And an angel appeared to Cornelius and told him to seek out Peter and Peter came. And Peter had a dream Cornelius is a Gentile you got to remember that Peter is a Jew and it says in the scriptures that Peter says you know by law or our law says I cannot come to your house.

▶ 51:35 But God has shown me through the dream and as he starts talking about this the spirit comes and falls on Cornelius and the people in his house the Gentiles and fills them with the Holy Spirit. It’s that’s what it says right Acts 10:44 the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word while Peter was speaking and so what I just said here. Because you are sons God has sent his spirit into your hearts so the Jews. Now realize that the Gentiles now are sons and children of God not just Israel. Okay Israel was known as the people of God we’re the we’re God’s people no God now is looking at the whole world and he’s saying you can be a son of God and that was what was spoken this morning his spirit when his spirit comes in you it is proof that you are a child of God and you can receive God’s spirit if you keep seeking after Christ.

▶ 52:52 1 Samuel 14:12 Jonathan said to his armor bearer. An armor bearer is somebody who holds the armor right is that self-explanatory. Come up after me for the Lord has delivered them into the hand of Israel and I want to point out here that this is an example Jonathan is an example of Jesus and the armor bearer is an example of the Holy Spirit. Jesus when he died and went up into heaven ascended late uh on the day of Pentecost later come up after me the Holy Spirit fell and filled all the people on the day of Pentecost. And so that’s what this example is talking about but here we have a new name for the Holy Spirit and what is it armor.

Okay and we know what the Bible says about armor right put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:11 gird your waist with truth put on the breastplate of righteousness shod your feet with the gospel of peace take up the shield of faith put on the helmet of salvation and take up the sword of the spirit which is the word of God and so we need to be reminded. That God has fashioned all of these things this armor has been fashioned and made by God and he says through his spirit here. Here it is. If you were to go in the military today.

▶ 54:44 One of the things that happens after boot camp and maybe do I don’t know when it happens but when you go in the military they are going to equip you with. Armor. And what. Attack weapons a rifle armor a helmet a heads up display whatever that thing is called knee pads boots everything. And it costs. Uh for the navy I’m sure for the army it’s like thousands of dollars and as you go up into the navy seals it’s probably 100 you know I don’t know how much those things cost but it’s expensive amen. But they equip you for battle and Christ has done the same thing with his spirit the armor bearer is ready to equip you for battle.

▶ 55:40 But people today. Come up to the armor bearer they don’t even come to the armor bearer you got to come to the armor bearer and say I need some armor. Amen and who’s the armor bearer. Oh God come on the Holy Spirit. If you come into church. And you have no interest in the Holy Spirit if you’re not inviting the Holy Spirit you’re not asking the spirit to come he’s not going to arm you. If you go home and you don’t put that word into your mind which is the spirit the sword is the word you’re not taking up the armor. You have to understand we’re living in 2023.

▶ 56:34 Years ago people did not have access to the Bible like we do now now God provided some way for them to have the sword but today you can walk five steps right now and you can grab a Bible why because God inspired people to write the Bible first of all he made sure that that printing press printed that Bible and today there’s over 5 billion copies of the Bible throughout the world. It is the most printed book nothing compared I’m serious nothing compares to the Bible. And when we have this great resource and reject it neglect it we are it’s like going into war without what a gun would you do that would you do that no not at all.

▶ 57:32 It’s the same way in living our lives. And everything else that God has for us the helmet of salvation God has provided the salvation for us we have to take it on the shield God he’s the reason you have faith our faith is in who Jesus Christ right he’s the reason you have faith you got to take it up gospel of peace the best place of breastplate of righteousness you’ve got to put on you got to put away uh repent from sin turn from sin and go toward what is right do what is right. And so we want to see the proof the proof that we’re a child of God the proof that the spirit came in the scriptures where is the proof in Luke chapter 4 36 with authority and power Jesus commands unclean spirits and they come out in Luke chapter 8 verse 32 the demons begged Christ that he would permit them to enter them to enter the pigs and he permitted them the demons went out of the man and entered the swine now.

▶ 58:42 Isn’t this how we want to handle the kingdom of darkness where you come up to the kingdom of darkness and they are begging you. Hey hey whoa whoa whoa whoa who’s coming up on me right now who is this priscilla oh whoa ho man step off isn’t that how you want the kingdom of darkness to be looking at you huh isn’t that how you come up to the kingdom of darkness comes up to junior like whoa whoa where did this guy come from right. None of this oh the Devil’s beating me the demons are after me no no they’re begging you get out of here get away from me. And Jesus they were asking for his permission wow.

▶ 59:34 What authority amen. Don’t we want that kind of authority over the kingdom of darkness. Is it possible that we have permitted the kingdom of darkness to inhabit our lives. To inhabit our schools and our government. Lies are being taught in school from the media and from government. John 8:44 says when the Devil speaks a lie he speaks from his own resources for he is a liar and the father of lies. When you hear lies you know where they’re coming from where they’re coming from Satan. We know that the righteous and the wicked will grow together but still folks we need to rule over the kingdom of darkness like Christ and he has given us that authority we are heirs amen.

▶ 1:00:33 And we don’t need to be afraid of these well-crafted lies they’re out there they’re well crafted. And maybe you think you have to be some great debater and have a show and start you know explaining and taking 20 minutes to explain the system no no just pull out the scriptures. Here is the scripture it’s about one sentence and it says this is what truth is. Because the other guys that debate they’re going to debate debate debate and at the end of their debate they’re just going to say the same stinking thing that the Bible says. And you could have just got there right there. Stephen in acts chapter 6 verse 8.

It says in Acts 6 chapter 10 just a few verses later they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spoke and they they secretly induced men to say we have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God so there is that is that true is Stephen Stephen uh blasphemous words no what is it a a lie. Where do lies come from Satan. So when Jesus approached these Pharisees and Sadducees and said you were of your you of your father the Devil was he telling the truth yeah why because they’re lying and who’s the father of lies Satan.

▶ 1:02:22 But Stephen was full of faith and power he did great wonders and miracles now who is doing the wonders of miracles is it Stephen no it’s who God but God is using Stephen why because Stephen submitted himself he got the armor he put it on and he did whatever God wanted him to do. He was full of faith and power don’t you want to be full of faith and power don’t you want God’s spirit on you amen. Amen. First Corinthians chapter 2 verse 4 going to Paul what was the proof in Paul my speech and preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom I didn’t have some show well I mean you know he can’t knock him for having a show that they’re still trying to speak truth but in demonstration of the spirit and power that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God I want that in my life.

▶ 1:03:31 I’ll tell you right now I really really want that in my life don’t you don’t you want to have God’s demonstration of power not just some kind of not just words where you’re reading out of something and the Bible says this and uh you want to have power and it says in Acts 24:25 this is the proof as he reasoned of righteousness temperance and judgment to felix. Trembled it says he what tremble. And we want. People to feel the fear of God we want them to feel the power of God amen because that fear and that power when God when God comes to them with his spirit and he comes into their mind he starts to change them it is God that is doing the work and that work no man can do you can get up here and you can speak or you can share with your friends but it’s not you who’s doing the changing it’s God who is doing the changing in somebody and that’s the best change when you got God doing the change exact Exodus chapter 24 verse 12.

Man you where did you go where did you go today well I went to church and I touched the presence of God and somebody sees that there’s a smile on your face they never see a smile on your face for a hundred years don’t you want God to have that kind of effect on you I do I want my face to shine Exodus 23:26 30 you shall raise up the tabernacle according to its pattern so Moses received the ten commandments which are still true today Moses ex stood before God his face was shining don’t you want your countenance to change and he received the pattern.

Chapter 5 verse 39 of John search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life but they there are they which testify of me but you will not come to me that you might have life. Are we willing to come to Jesus are you willing. To come to Christ many people in the Bible it says great Jesus said great is your faith why because they got off of their couch they got out of their home they got from their situation and they went and they pursued God what.

If you want to be a son of God put get God’s spirit in you don’t just come to church and look at the wall don’t just come to church and start sleeping don’t just come to church and say when are we getting out of here. No get in the assembly find out where God is find out how can I touch how can I meet God so I can get his spirit in me so that when I step out and that that the kingdom of darkness comes to me they’re going to be begging me. To leave them alone. Like Stephen like Paul like Moses like David who stood before goliath like Jesus who did the what the father required of him we must seek the living God.

They were in this cell right their hands were shackled did that mean that they could not seek God anymore that mean they couldn’t search for God anymore oh man they can’t get up anymore they’re how do I seek God I gotta search where am I going I gotta find him no no they what what do they start doing at midnight what were they doing they were praising and singing hymns unto God and what happened that prison shook there was an earthquake God came.

▶ 1:10:06 You see it’s not that you have to go to something or location yes you got to come to church where the assembly is but are you putting God’s word into you when you put God’s word in you are you searching the word for Christ. Are you getting on your knees so that you can find him through humbling yourself. At the end of the service we normally have a time where you can pray and respond and ask God to come how are you going to handle that time are you going to search for God or are you going to search for the door. Are you going to search for God or are you going to just let whatever is in your mind take over and think about all the things you got to do or are you going to search and seek God. God has provided a shield God has provided a sword God has provided everything you need to go into battle and fight the kingdom of darkness in your life God has given everything you need to fight uh the situations a lot of people are depressed a lot of people are living in a great sorrow.

▶ 1:11:23 I mean when you’re taking up that armor folks you those those that armor those tools work. They really do. I know a lot of people that should be depressed but are not because they took up God’s armor. And they use it. Last scripture this morning. If I may have your attention at this time Revelations chapter 2 verse 7. Says to him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life to him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat to him who overcomes I will grant to sit with me on my throne don’t you want to sit with God on his throne don’t you want the tree of life.

▶ 1:12:23 Amen. What is your priority right now is your priority this life and and you know everything involved in this life or do you have goals and priorities for eternal life. So God is asking us this morning as worship team comes we’re going to take some time this morning to respond. And God is asking us this morning are we children of God. Are you a child of God are you asking for his spirit to be put in you are you seeking God or are you just seeking after your own desires and what you want to do as a child of God have you received his spirit.

▶ 1:13:25 Have you accepted God’s provision for your spiritual life the armor of God the food the clothing everything have you accepted it are you applying it. Have you taken up the arm of God to overcome for yourself and for others. There’s a lot we got to do. Amen these are things that you can work on for the rest of your life and I encourage you today if you don’t have any goals for your spiritual man go home today set some goals I want to sit. On the throne with God do you have that goal and if you want to reach that goal what is it going to take for you to get there. Set some goals today I encourage you have a song.
