A Vine Cluster Church message balancing “the just shall live by faith” with Romans 2: God renders to every man according to his deeds and shows no favoritism. Judas never changed; Peter ran to the advocate. From Jeremiah and Ezekiel, Judah ignored warnings for centuries and was judged, while Christians are called to warn the wicked and bear fruit worthy of repentance.

Does faith let us live however we want?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: Romans 1:17: the just shall live by faith—but Romans 2:6 says God will render to every man according to his deeds. Good works don’t save us, yet Scripture says again and again we are judged by our works (Psalm 62:12; Jeremiah 17:10; 32:19), and our light should shine with good works.

▶ 0:00 I was reading Jeremiah and Ezekiel and normally as a teenager growing up Jeremiah and Ezekiel they’re just so hard to understand and unless you’re paying attention you’re going to go right through them and you’re not going to understand anything they’re talking about and uh but there’s some great stories and illustrations in Jeremiah and Ezekiel and some important important understanding that Americans and Christians need to understand from these books so we’re going to start in Romans and Paul is the writer of Romans in 1:17 he says for therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith as it is written the just shall live by faith and that is true and uh I bring up this scripture because a lot of people will take this scripture and they’ll hang on to this scripture and they’ll say God because I have faith I can live however I want I can do whatever I want say whatever I want treat my kids however I want treat my spouse however I want treat people however I want and I just need to go to God and get forgiveness my faith is what saves me and that um and Paul the next verse I’m sorry next chapter verse chapter 2 verse 6 he gives a great uh ending statement here he says God will give to each person according to what he has.

▶ 1:28 Done and when you read the Bible throughout the scriptures Revelations from genes Genesis to Revelations it says statements like this you will be judged according to your works in Matthew it says let your light so shine that people may see your good works now good works is not going to save you good being good is not going to save you you know the Bible says that your righteousness is like a filthy rag but at least God has a rag to deal with it’s filthy it’s dirty but he’s got a rag Psalm 62:12 Jeremiah 17:10 Jeremiah 32:19 [unclear] all those scriptures they all talk. About uh everyone therefore I will judge you everyone according to his ways and this is so important I grew up in my life and I wanted to be kind I really sincerely wanted to be a nice person and I I still do and I’m generally a nice person I have a full-time job I go to work I got to deal with people just like everybody else has to I got to be nice I’ve got to take care of problems work on things solve them uh problem solve love people be kind to people you know customer service you know that’s not the issue here I grew up my life just wanting just be nice to everyone no no conflicts and then I married [unclear] no I’m just.

What does Romans 2 promise those who do good?

▶ Watch this part (2:55)

Short answer: Sin hurts people, so there must be conflict with it. Romans 2:7: to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality—eternal life. Romans 2:10: glory, honor and peace to everyone who works good. Every Christian is being transformed toward Christ.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 2:55 Kidding I love you sweetie no conflict. And uh the Bible at some. Point there’s got to be a conflict because sin. Hurts sin hurts people it hurts families it’s hurting America and somewhere there’s got to be a conflict if you’re on a ship if you’re on a boat and they’re headed for disaster there’s got to be something done if you can see the disaster you want to tell him hey we got to turn around what are we doing the next verse it says to those who by persistence and doing good seek glory honor and immortality he will give eternal. Life they seeking they’re they’re persistent they their goal is to treat people right you know I don’t always treat people right Laura doesn’t we don’t always treat people right but that’s our goal.

▶ 3:56 You know we’re not always righteous our righteousness is filthy rags but that’s our goal to be like. Christ we don’t want to be like Satan I can’t that’s not the goal that’s not what we want to become there’s a transformation in every Christian and that transformation is headed toward Christ the light not the darkness. Sin Romans 2:10 glory honor and peace for everyone who does good he repeats it in three verses later for everyone who does. Good and of course you guys need to read this you know you need to read those two chapters so you understand the context but you you can’t take one verse out I’m just giving you the balance to the scripture God is always about balance you know your good works aren’t going to save you but you still got to do.

What about those who reject the truth?

▶ Watch this part (4:51)

Short answer: Romans 2:8–9: to the self-seeking who do not obey the truth but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish on every soul that does evil. You can’t live in sexual sin, drunkenness or abuse with no change and claim belief. Paul taught the whole counsel.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 4:51 Good Romans 2:8 here I have a picture of a dad and a son and you can’t see it but they’ve got needles in their mouths and this is just a very extreme example of some stupid. Father that is bringing destruction on his child and he is being a bad example and he’s also participating not just being a bad example he’s also doing it with his kid and how many know nobody would do that in here it’s just stupid but he’s doing it but it doesn’t have to be that extreme it could be something simple. A lot more simpler you are an example to your children Romans 2:8 but for those who are self-seeking and reject the truth and follow what evil there will be wrath and anger you can’t go around having sex outside of marriage you can’t go around getting drunk beating up your kids mistreating your wife there’s no transformation toward Jesus Christ you can’t go around doing that and come to God and say I believe it doesn’t work work that is.

What happened to Judas?

▶ Watch this part (6:03)

Short answer: Judas was one of the twelve, sent to preach and cast out demons. John 12:6: he was a thief who took from the bag. Luke 22:3: Satan entered him—he allowed it. John 18:3: he betrayed Jesus, then hanged himself. The speaker says Judas believed yet was lost.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 6:03 Injustice there will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil again he says it. Twice and this is Paul and I’m bringing this up because Paul is writing this and Paul is the one where we get all of our uh you know the faith and and we hold on to those scriptures you you you can’t take Paul out of context you got to have the whole balance and that’s what Paul says I have not ceased to teach you the whole counsel amen. Amen so we’re going to look to Judas our friend. Judas Judas was a believer he was sent he was one of the 12 disciples when all the the disciples left there were 12 left and Judas was one of those disciples and he believed and Jesus sent the 12 out to preach the kingdom of God is coming and Jesus gave them power to heal.

▶ 7:06 To cast out demons and here is Judas and he’s they went out two by two he’s with some other disciple and Judas is a is preaching and Judas is casting out demons how many know we know Judas’s end story there’s something wrong. Here in John 12:6 the Bible says he was a thief he was the keeper of the money bag and would help himself to what was put into it the whole time. Judas. Is not. Changing now he had an opportunity to change this whole time God Jesus is working on him he’s given an opportunity to change he’s with Jesus he’s seeing Jesus Jesus’s example Jesus is preaching Judas is listening to all this.

▶ 8:00 And still in 22:3 Judas allowed Satan to enter him you know Satan just doesn’t enter people you got to allow him you know Judas was sinning living his life uh he was a two-faced. Guy and John 18:3 of course we know that he betrayed Jesus he came with all of the people that were there to take him and he pinpointed that the man went up and kissed him and they went after Jesus Christ and then of course we know that he ended his life and hung himself and he died in his sin and he believed you can lose you can lose out Judas is not in. Heaven now we want to look at our friend.

How was Peter restored?

▶ Watch this part (8:55)

Short answer: Peter denied Jesus three times (John 18:27) and wept bitterly (Luke 22:62). He ran to the tomb (John 20:6), then went fishing; when John said “it is the Lord” (John 21:7) he jumped in and swam to Jesus. Three times Jesus asked “do you love me?” and said feed my sheep and follow me (John 21:17).

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 8:55 Peter the fisherman you know he’s got some problems John 18:27 Peter denies Jesus three times this is a big problem Jesus said if you deny me I’ll deny you before my father you know this is a big problem you know God he talks he talks pretty rough but you got to understand he’s not like humans when humans talk rough and they talk mean and they’re oh they’re mad and upset they can’t control themselves but God as soon as you turn as soon as you change he turns to [unclear] the Bible says that his mercy is as deep as the ocean it’s deeper it’s. Huge you know Jesus Christ he can turn on a dime he can turn and say and start the change in your life if it’s sincere Luke 22:62 Peter wept bitterly we all know the the rooster crowed and Peter was reminded of what Jesus said Jesus said to him you’re tonight you’re going to deny me three times and Peter did it he was out there and they asked him aren’t you with Jesus aren’t you with Jesus aren’t you with Jesus he said I don’t know the man.

▶ 10:20 And then the rooster crowed and Peter wept bitterly why did he weep he wept because say he was. Guilty he felt the guilt and John 20:6 Peter feeling the guilt a couple days later he is looking for the answer and where did he go he came and he ran with John to the tomb why cu he’s trying to find Jesus. Christ John 20 verse 19 Jesus appears to all the disciples they’re all in a room Jesus comes in the room and Peter’s there and he is just saying gosh I need to talk to him I got to make this.

▶ 11:12 Right and not wanted to expose himself he’s not coming to Jesus say Jesus I’m. Sorry but he finds this opportunity in John 21 verse 3 Peter went fishing going back to his old. Life and. 21:7 there was a man on the shore and they’re fishing and they hadn’t caught anything and the man on the shore said cast your net on the other side and they cast their net and of course they got a whole bunch of fish and John said it is the Lord and Peter was rushed with oh my gosh I need to deal I got he jumped out of the boat he jumped out of the boat with his cloak and he started swimming with everything he had I said I got to get to.

▶ 12:11 Jesus he left the fish didn’t care about the money he didn’t care about the possession he left them because he had to deal with. Something and Jesus says to him Peter do you love me and Peter is and he says yes Lord I love. You three times he asks him do you love me and Jesus says feed my sheep and 21:17 Peter was grieved because Jesus asked him three times why is he grieved because he had denied. Him and he still felt.

Who can come to the advocate?

▶ Watch this part (12:53)

Short answer: 1 John 2:1: if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous—any race or background; God is not partial. Following Jesus is a process; time in the word, prayer and praise moves the transformation.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 12:53 That and Jesus ended it he said follow me see Jesus forgave him why because Peter it. Says in 1 John 2:1 if any any man doesn’t matter who you are it doesn’t matter where you come from it doesn’t matter what skin color you are what race you are it doesn’t matter if any man God’s not partial sin we have an advocate with the father Jesus Christ the righteous where did Peter go he went to the advocate he went to Jesus Christ he saw there’s Jesus on the shore I got to get to him and that’s so important because we mess up as Christians you’re not perfect as Christians it’s going to take a long time before you actually start to change it’s a process following Jesus is a process and it depends on how much you’re willing to put into that process as much as you put in that process as much you’re going to get out of that if you spend a lot of time with Jesus if you spend time reading his word if you spend time uh talking to him praying to him praising him he’ll he’ll move on that.

Does God show favoritism?

▶ Watch this part (14:04)

Short answer: Romans 2:11: there is no respect of persons with God—not for looks, wealth or fame. He judged Egypt and Sodom and Gomorrah for sin, and Daniel foretold the empires that would follow.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 14:04 Transformation but you’ve got to come to the what the advocate that’s Jesus Christ he is our gift like we learned he’s the one that can change. Us so back to God being. Impartial Romans 8:11. No I think this is 2:11 I’m sorry I think I have something down wrong for God he ends this scripture to where he’s saying that the you you’ve got to do. Good and he ends it for God does not show. Favoritism I have a picture here of a girl she’s sort of pretty and she’s going to go to jail you know you can’t treat her with favoritism because she’s pretty and uh oh we only going to give you two years because you have a pretty face or we have Martha Stewart she’s rich so she’s only going to get a certain sentence you see God there’s no favoritism with God or here he’s got he’s handsome he’s got a smile he’s football player star should he be treated with favoritism no God he doesn’t look at all that stuff this guy murdered somebody Sodom and Gomorrah were.

▶ 15:32 Judged Egypt was judged as you know when Israel came out of Egypt God brought 10 plagues God brought judgment on Egypt God brought judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah because of sin and in past lessons Mr. Kincer has gone why and he’s shown us through Jude he showed us through the Old Testament all of the reasons. Why God judged these places. And later on in history we know that the Babylonian empire when it came on the scene it was there to judge. Israel then the Persian empire then the Grecian empire and then the roman empire which God prophesied would come before they even came you guys need to know that in Daniel he prophesied they would come it’s amazing.

How far did Judah fall?

▶ Watch this part (16:29)

Short answer: Jeremiah 23:14: the prophets of Jerusalem committed adultery, walked in lies and strengthened evildoers—all like Sodom and Gomorrah. Jeremiah 32:35: they built high places of Baal to pass their sons and daughters through the fire, which God never commanded nor came into his mind. He cites abortion, HIV and child-abuse figures in America.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 16:29 Before greece even either came on the map God is prophesying that they would become an empire it’s. Amazing so we’re going to look at a story in Jeremiah and this is the last king of Judah as you know David Saul was the first king of Israel then David before the kings there were judges then king Saul king David king Solomon and after that Rehoboam and they split up and there was just a mess until this last king of Judah Zedekiah and Jeremiah 23:14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem a horrible thing now these are the prophets not the people but the prophets they commit adultery they walk in lies they strengthen the hands of evildoers and none returns from his wickedness nobody’s turning nobody’s.

▶ 17:32 Repenting they are all of them unto me as Sodom and Gomorrah see Israel went to a place where they became like Sodom and Gomorrah and one of the big indicators here in Jeremiah 32:35 they it says they built the high places of Baal to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire and here I have a picture the guy up there there he’s putting a baby on the the altar and there’s a b in the lower there’s a baby uh that’s being sacrificed why this is where they were they were sinning so much they had approved their sins so much this is where they were this is what they were doing these people those. People which I commanded them not neither came it into my mind that they would do this abomination you know God’s up there he’s like what where did you guys come up with this stuff why would you kill your kids.

▶ 18:36 You know God is good [unclear] because he doesn’t know bad things Satan’s the one that knows bad. Things God doesn’t he can’t lie so he’s looking at what we’re doing and he’s just scratching his head why in the world would they do that and real quick just some statistics on abortion as you all know 21% of all us pregnancies will end in abortion 21% if you can do the math that is one. In one in. Five one and five if you round it down over 60% of those who abort identify themselves as either Catholic or Protestant.

▶ 19:30 This is a problem Christian and this is why I’m preaching this message this is why Mr. Kincer hits this stuff all the time because somewhere Christians it’s not getting. Through the church has a big responsibility here it’s not just people that are bad and no it’s people that are hearing the message about Jesus and they’re going and they’re doing these things that are so hard harmful [unclear] 1.1 million are infected with hiv in America hiv aids treatment is also covered under our health care. Reform uh so taxpayers you are now participants in funding all of this it’s becomes very expensive it’s very expensive to treat all this stuff and nobody will say just control yourself because that’s not a solution.

▶ 20:31 No make the people pay make us pay make Americans pay what is going. On and now I’m a participant I don’t want to be a participant and I’m saying the beginning statement I want to be a nice person I want I just you know I’m I grew up not liking. Conflict but somewhere. Where you got to say. No another important statistic about one in 10 children will be sexually abused before their 18th. Birthday 60% of the child abused victim victims never tell anyone this is in.

Is God unfair to judge?

▶ Watch this part (21:27)

Short answer: Ezekiel 18:25: you say the way of the Lord is not fair; is not my way fair, and your ways unfair? God talks tough, but when Nineveh turned he spared it—his mercy is huge.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 21:27 America. And this is not. Good Ezekiel. 18:25 God here is talking to the people and he says yet you say the way of the Lord is not fair God you’re unfair you’re going to judge us you’re unfair you’re unjust here now oh house of Israel is not my way fair and just are not your ways unfair and unjust you know we we’ve killed a lot of babies more than God has ever killed more than God has ever judged and we point the finger at God and say he’s unjust that’s what America is doing today God is. Unjust that’s what atheists do they’ll read the scriptures and they’ll just say God is unfair you know and they mock God and they say oh God’s not real and then when God comes and shows himself that he’s real they say he’s unfair.

▶ 22:32 They won’t listen they won’t obey what he’s asking them to do and what is he asking us to do he’s asking us to repent I was reading last night there were some college folks from Berkeley and and uh I don’t know some ivy league college and they were doing a summary of Ezekiel and the whole time through a chapter by chapter oh yeah yeah God uh you know he’s going to punish these people because his way is so fair and they’re mocking God through the whole. Book and Jesus God he talks really tough he talks lethal he talks really mad and he’s furious and he’s upset and he’s angry because he’s.

Did God give Judah a way out?

▶ Watch this part (23:26)

Short answer: Jeremiah 21:9: whoever stays in the city will die by sword, famine and plague; whoever surrenders to the Babylonians will live. The king cut the scroll page by page and threw it in the fire, showing no fear. Jeremiah was beaten, imprisoned and sank in the mire, yet God protected him and he was freed.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 23:26 Right but you know as soon as you turn just like Nineveh God was going to wipe them off the map and as soon as they. Turned God didn’t do anything they repented and God called off the [unclear] he said no no don’t touch. Them. Amen he talks tough but his mercy is huge. His mercy is the best it’s the greatest it’s the most powerful his love he’s the whole. Package Jeremiah. 21:9 so Jeremiah comes with this message and he says whoever stays in this city will die and he’s talking about the Babylonian empire king Nebuchadnezzar their army is going to come and they are going to destroy this city and he’s saying whoever stays in the city will die by the sword and famine and plague but whoever goes out and surrenders to the Babylonians who are besieging you will live and he will escape with his life see God has got to bring upon this nation judgment and he’s giving them a way.

▶ 24:45 Out God is merciful I think he’s merciful you don’t think he’s merciful you don’t think he’s unfair that’s your problem you know he’s got to to deal with sin I’m not going to let my son keep beating up my daughter and just sit there and watch don’t do that no I’m going to. Intervene I’m not going to let him take a hammer and hit her in the head with it I’m not going to let her let him kill my daughter I’ve got to step. In not that he would do. That. But you see God is making a way for. People he’s making a way if they will just listen and that’s so important when God’s word comes and we just reject it throw it to the ground kick it to the curb that’s a problem.

▶ 25:51 God’s word is so. Important. So he gives this message. So Jeremiah is protected by God for a time and then the book comes to the king Zedekiah and the king they start to read the scroll to the king and the king with every page that they read he rips it out throws it in the fire he rips it out next page rips it out making a paper airplane throw it in the fire until the whole scroll was cut off and put in the fire and it says in that scripture that story the king and all his attendants who heard all these words showed no.

▶ 26:44 Fear they did not tear their clothes showing a sign of uh you know of repentance they didn’t do anything they just threw God’s word in the fire where’s the Bible at throw it in the fire I don’t care about this God’s word is. Junk and they beat Jeremiah and they imprisoned him you see the whole world they’ve got you thinking that Christians are just a bunch of radical mistreating uh awful people and Jesus Christ when he came to the earth Jesus Christ was beaten and he was killed the disciples were beaten and they were killed Jesus never hurt or killed. Anyone Jeremiah never hurt or killed.

▶ 27:37 Anyone he preached a word that people didn’t. Like you know what they hurt they hurt people’s feelings and that is the point I don’t I grew up not wanting to hurt people’s feelings but you know what somewhere you can’t care about people’s. Feelings they were put in a dungeon and sank and he sank in the mire he was left for dead Jeremiah the prophet of God this guy is legit called by God now he’s got to go through all this junk why cuz people reject God’s word word and they mistreat and they look at you and they say you’re.

▶ 28:35 Unfair and that’s completely. Wrong and later on when judgment came and the captain of the Babylonians came captain of the army he freed Jeremiah he welcomed him to stay in Babylon if you want to stay here if you want to come in Babylon I’ll I’ll take care of you when you come in Babylon uh he was free to stay in the land of Israel if he wanted to and I’m bringing this up because God made a way for Jeremiah he did what was right he stood for what was right he had to go through some tribulation but God brought him through and that’s important to understand you know God help us all if we preach right you know some bad things might happen to us but Christ is going to bring us through like he did for Jeremiah maybe not everybody like we know the disciples they were killed but you got heavenly.

What happened to Zedekiah and Judah?

▶ Watch this part (29:43)

Short answer: Zedekiah’s sons were killed and his eyes put out; Jerusalem was burned. Had they repented, God would have shown mercy, but after hundreds of years of sin, rejecting the word and killing the prophets, judgment came.

▶ 29:43 Fortune the king of Zedekiah his sons were. Killed okay and this is the Babylonian empire doing it the king’s eyes they put out his eyes that means they took they got a hot yeah a poker and they got that thing so hot and they put in his eyes put out his eyes that’s awful but this guy is the one who mistreated Jeremiah he’s the one that cast God’s word in the fire. And there’s a problem. Here the cities and the houses of Israel Judah Jerusalem were burned some people people were taken captive some people were killed because it was a battle Babylonians. Came and I’m just showing you God here he is protecting Jeremiah and here he’s bringing his judgment like he said he would bring it because people would refuse to repent you know during this whole time if the people would have just repented if they would have thrown up their hands and say God we need you God we repent God forgive us he would have done.

What is the Christian’s responsibility?

▶ Watch this part (30:59)

Short answer: Ezekiel 33:8–9: if you don’t warn the wicked, he dies in his sin and his blood is required of you; if you warn him, you deliver yourself. Hell and heaven are real. We warn because we want people to turn. Everyone lives in the same reality and will give account to Jesus.

▶ 30:59 Something he would have given them an opportunity he would have given them. Mercy but we’re talking about hundreds of years of sin and God and these people Israel are just doing what they want they’re going against the Bible they’re going against God’s word they’re mistreating the prophets they’re they’re killing the prophets they throw God’s word in the mud they don’t care what God says we’re talking about hundreds of years canaanites it was 400 years for. Them God is patient he’s he can wait hundreds of years he can wait lifetimes and he waited but they wouldn’t. Turn so the call what are we supposed to do Ezekiel.

▶ 31:55 33:8 it says when when I this is God talking he says when I say to the wicked oh wicked man you will surely die and there is judgment we’ve all got to understand that hell is a real place heaven is a real place sin is going to take you to hell I can’t say that any nicer I’m. Sorry you surely. Die and if you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways that means us Christians if we don’t get out there and share this message and get people to hear this message turn from your sin. Repent the wicked man will die for his sin and I will hold you accountable for his blood we all know this scripture if you’re a Christian you’ve heard this is scripture from Ezekiel but we have a responsibility as Christians we’ve got to get the message out we got to speak the truth.

▶ 32:54 But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so he will die in his sin but you will have saved yourself and how many you know we don’t want to go uh here’s the word of God you’re just going to die I’m just trying to save myself you know you know that’s not how you look at the thing here’s God’s message I’m just letting you know cuz I want to make sure I’m. Safe no that’s not right you know when we share God’s word we want them to turn we want them to hear the message and repent that’s the goal we got to be reminded. People evolutionists. Atheists just because the evolutionists they believe that they evolv and that they’re going they came from nothing and that they’re going nowhere when they die nothing’s going to happen that’s what they believe if you’re an atheist that’s what you believe or maybe you have a different kind of atheism a lot of people believe that when you die nothing’s going to happen just because they believe that doesn’t mean that that’s what’s going to happen we all live in the same world we all live on the same planet we all have the same reality.

▶ 34:10 Guys just because I’m a Christian doesn’t mean oh uh it’s going to be a different life for me they they’re evolutionists they’re just going to die and nothing’s going to happen no we’re all children of God we all came from. God. The sexual immoral the drug addicts the alcoholics abuses of children everything bad you can think. Of they don’t live in a different world they live in the same world you live in and I live in and they’re responsible for the same things that you’re responsible for they’re responsible to repent they’re responsible to respond to Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is the maker of every human being. He is the giver of all spirits every soul came from.

What must every person do?

▶ Watch this part (35:05)

Short answer: Ezekiel 18:30: repent and turn from all your transgressions. John the Baptist: bring forth fruits worthy of repentance. Christians, like Peter, never approve their sin; Christ makes us new creatures. Run to the advocate and let his word change you.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 35:05 Christ you know they’re not some. Aliens we’re all the same people Jesus is reality God is reality everybody you know I go to work my co-workers say you’re very religious I’m not. Religious I know Jesus I love. Jesus and if you want to believe that you live in a different world that’s fine you believe that but I’m telling you it’s not. True all humans will stand before Jesus Christ all will give an account all humans have a responsibility in Ezekiel 18:30 it says to repent and turn from evil.

▶ 35:57 In the New Testament Paul wrote all these men wrote repent John the Baptist said repent bring forth fruit worthy of repentance your life should back up that repentance when you say God forgive me when you say Jesus forgive me for my sin there should be some fruit that backs that up and we’re not talking about apples and oranges we’re talking about actions that back up that. Repentance Christians. We like Peter have a responsibility to repent you’re going to mess up you’re going to make mistakes but you never sit there and say what I’ve done is okay you never sit there and approve your sin you never say oh I’m just an angry person so I got in a fight and that’s just the way it is I just have this condition no change your condition Christ can change your condition he can make you a new creature that’s what it says that’s the whole point to change you.

▶ 37:01 We got to go to the advocate we got to go to Jesus we should be running down on our knees going to the advocate coming to Jesus Christ how do you want me to come what do you want me to do how high do you want me to jump I’ll do whatever you want me to say and do you want me to jump how. High. And like Ezekiel says in verse 33 chapter 33:8 speak the truth we have a responsibility Christians you know when I was done reading Jeremiah and Ezekiel there’s conviction that comes there’s a a desperation that comes you know I finally read Jeremiah and Ezekiel and I I saw the story I saw the people reject Jesus Christ normally my eyes just glaze over over because it’s you know you’ve got to pay attention but this time I got the message and Jeremiah and Ezekiel they were there they were both there in the same time period they’re preaching the same.

▶ 38:16 Message and the message has always been the same we need to. Repent if we’re Christians we need to go to the advocate if we’re Christians we need to start getting into the word of God we got to let the word change us Christ’s word will change you coming to the advocate that is Jesus Christ he will change you you’ve got to find every opportunity to get changed and transformed and that’s all going to be done with Christ and his word.

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: Points to check: the scroll-burning king was Jehoiakim (Jeremiah 36), not Zedekiah; “Romans 8:11 / 21” spoken for Romans 2:11. Unverified figures as spoken: 21% of US pregnancies aborted, over 60% of those aborting Catholic or Protestant, 1.1 million with HIV, 1 in 10 children sexually abused, 60% never tell. Sensitive content: images of child sacrifice and Zedekiah’s blinding described; Judas “believed” and was lost (doctrinal); Martha Stewart named. A private first name (the speaker’s wife) appears only in the transcript. Select any time to jump to that moment on YouTube.
