▶ 0:00 Tomorrow is Veterans Day we want to thank all of the veterans who have served in our military. Defending us from outside threats keeping our country safe uh Paul Martha’s husband is a was a marine we want to thank their family jim over here mr Thompson was a marine and the military did were you in vietnam by chance I can’t remember you were in vietnam. Wow do we have any other us personnel that I’m not aware of we want to thank you guys what what branch were you in army army oh my goodness let’s give them a round of applause we want to thank them would you guys stand please we want to give you honor we appreciate you guys mr.

Take and it says I solemnly swear that I will support and defend the what constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same that I will obey the orders of the president of the united United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me according to the regulations and the uniform coen of military justice so help me God that’s right it’s very it sounds very similar to a commitment that you take uh for Jesus Christ you’re committing to his commandments amen the constitution is a is a is a a document and Christ Jesus God he has commandments that he wants us to follow it says that we will obey the orders of the president of the United States we are to obey the orders of who Jesus Christ God the father amen and so it’s very similar.

▶ 2:19 And it’s not just because they’re selfish the goal of the United States is that we will follow the constitution will follow the president and they will protect and keep the country safe keep the country prosperous amen and so it’s the same way with God we serve him he’s and he blesses us it is a good thing it is a good relationship the us government was designed to be a government of laws not men with the constitution as the ultimate authority so what they were trying to do was get away from people being the authority because somebody could come in and they could just have way off uh an an idea that was way off and they whatever they said went and then you’re subject that to that person and that was why we have the house of representatives the senate the president of the United States we’re going to get into that right.

▶ 3:23 Now with the constitution as the ultimate authority so the uh people in government are supposed to follow this constitution they don’t get to come up with their own thing they’re supposed to follow the constitution the commitment is to is to the rule of law and it limits government power promotes fairness ensures that officials and citizens alike are subject to the same legal standards that at least is the goal it may not happen that way but that is the goal of the United States constitution the law is so important because it’s a standard that is set for every person this was the goal of having government by law and having a constitution government by law was first instituted by God when Israel came out of Egypt God gave Moses.

▶ 4:18 Laws and they were supposed to follow those. Laws it’s not that the Americans came up with it it’s it was uh it’s it’s in the Bible it’s in the Old Testament they had. Judges they had good leaders like Moses Aaron and Joshua that all had to follow the laws themselves and they had to. Judge there are three branches of government in the United States the legislative branch which creates they come up with and they write laws the executive branch which enforces and administers laws judicial b branch which interprets the constit constitution and the laws so the legislative are the people in the house and the senate they write the laws and the executive branch is all the people hired including the president and everyone else the secretary of state secretary of defense they enforce the uh what is that guy called attorney general they enforce and they administer these laws the judicial branch are all of the judges from the supreme court down to all of the federal court judges the judges in the states that judicial branch interprets the constitution and the laws.

▶ 5:48 In the United States there are several laws about no not stealing no physical harm to others it’s called assault and battery no murder following traffic signals and rules I mean you go from no murder to following traffic. Signals uh no driving under the influence because it can harm someone no trespassing child protection laws because we want our children protected they should not be abused uh base employment laws discrimination laws environmental protection laws we don’t want people dumping uh contaminants in in water that we drink drink right it’s common sense and there has to be laws against that kind of thing fraud no fraud when you go to buy something at in in elor outlets you don’t want them uh committing fraud taking your money when you don’t get you know or or charging overcharging you there’s laws about all that right to privacy and so if you want to be blessed in America you follow the good I’m going to say based that’s the word these days it’s based the based laws in America now in America you can write all kinds and come up with all kinds of things and in every country that doesn’t make it right but these good based laws we should follow and when we follow them and we work hard um this

▶ 7:18 sets the stage for what is known as what the American dream the idea that everyone regardless of background has the opportunity to achieve success u prosperity and a better life through hard work determination and initiative people that come from other countries that are in a government where they don’t have that ability they don’t have the you know the the opportunities like they have in America they take the they take when they come to America they take up the opportunity they work hard um. And no matter what our opinions are of America it is a place of opportunity you know it’s not always easy in certain states to uh or you know with with with inflation and stuff it becomes harder but still it is a place where you can succeed.

▶ 8:32 45% of Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants or their children immigrants make up 133% of the United States population but own 20% of all businesses 50 to 60% of foreign born United States residents own homes nearly half of second generation immigrants have a college degree compared to a third of us born citizens. They’re more likely to exceed their parents’ incomes income levels a traditional marker of achieving the American dream I’m just showing here that uh the immigrants because of this this when they come to America they’re looking at it as an opportunity right and they take America up on its opportunity but God has a very similar goal for us and a promise for us in the Bible in Leviticus and in Deuteronomy he promised a blessing to his people with plenty of he says in Deuteronomy chapter 8 and 11 the Lord will bless you with plenty of goods he will bless the fruit of your body talking about your children coming after you the increase of your livestock the produce of your ground will be open to you he will open his good treasure the heavens to give the rain to your land in its seasons all the work of your hand yes we should be working you shall lend to many nations but you shall not borrow

▶ 10:04 I will make you the head not the tail and you shall be above only and not beneath so there is a promise in the Old Testament to the the Israelites and God has a promise for. Us how can we be blessed according to Deuteronomy chap 28:13 if we heed the commandments of the Lord our God which I command you today and are careful to observe. Them that’s how we can be blessed in deuter Deuteronomy chapter 28 he’s talking about the blessing he’s telling about sharing all these things that you can have that you can receive because the if the condition is if you heed the commandments of the Lord and are careful to observe them Leviticus chapter 263 if you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments and perform them then you will receive this blessing that’s mentioned in Leviticus 26 verse one Matthew 19:17 this is the new t testament this is Jesus talking in red letters he says if you want to enter into life talking about eternal life talking about life here on earth keep the commandments so it’s very similar.

▶ 11:27 And just like the American dream can be achieved through hard work and following the law you can achieve blessing from God by walking and working in his ways and keeping his laws there is a dream that God has for every person on the earth not just to be successful in uh a country but also to be successful in your spiritual life and God wants to give that to you but we must. Respond there are three branches in the government every branch of government requires people the legislative branch requires people writing the laws the executive branch requires people to be in charge and to be secretaries of state secretary defense and all of the people employed under each of these positions the judicial branch has judges that are what.

▶ 12:41 People and so we can’t get away from you know nobody’s a robot amen and so it’s very important how we choose. Leaders and in according to Exodus. 18:21 it says moreover you shall select from all the people able men first of all number one able men competent able to do the job amen you can’t get somebody in there who doesn’t you know has screws loose can’t calculate don’t have their life sorted out and you’re going to put them in the government they’re going to be like oh yeah just give that money to that guy or actually just give it to me I’ll take. It such as fear God fear God people in the Bible.

▶ 13:34 That would not do certain things Joseph did not have the law Joseph. Was uh son of Jacob and he was sold into slavery he was sold into slavery and then he had to be a slave for potier and then he was put in prison wrongly. Because somebody lied about. Him and before he went into prison this woman said come on let’s go to bed and he said no how can I do this thing and sin against God he feared God he cared about God amen and we need people that fear God will not hurt the citizens because they are afraid of what God that it defends.

▶ 14:37 God men of truth men of truth men and women of truth amen men and women that fear God competent and able men and women hey in covetousness not taking a bribe not uh being bribed by some corporation to go into something because they’re going to lie in their pockets right that’s not right we don’t want that let them judge the people at all. Times you know Joshua and Moses they were just normal people they were all you know maybe their tent may have been a little bit.

▶ 15:33 Bigger but they’re they’re going through the wilderness. Right and Moses and Joshua aren’t like living high on the hog on all the people’s stuff they’re living just like everybody. Else and we’re talking about government officials I’m not talking about people that make a lot of money because of business 2 Samuel 23:2 he who rules over men must be just ruling in the fear of God so it’s important how we choose. Leaders and right now the only requirement in choosing a leader is that they must be. 35 right or 40 or some age the only thing is that you have must have survived been born in the United States and uh are over a certain age still breathing your brain may not be.

▶ 16:35 Firing but uh you can get hired on to be government in government in congress just because you’re a certain age and I would say that we need. Requirements and it’s not just government. But we also need leaders in the family that fear. God we need the the the the homes restored we need families and mothers and fathers that are willing to fear God that care about offending God you know they’re not going to hurt their kids because they know that offends. God they know they’re going to be faithful to their spouse because they know it offends God what God has brought together let what no man separate God hates divorce he doesn’t like.

▶ 17:38 It. Government employers and managers we need people. That operate in a way where they fear God are not trying to steal and defraud one another that are trustworthy honest corporations. Businesses educational institutions. Teachers right here we need people. That are good. Leaders and so since the government and the world runs on people right we need a constant flow of people who fear God who are honest who won’t take bribes so parents it’s you are essential you are essential to America’s.

▶ 18:31 Success we must raise good children and when we start raising bad children and we have a generation that just gets worse and worse we have a problem our future has a problem it doesn’t matter how well we created this document of the constitution maybe it needs some changes you know America’s it’s not just because it’s democracy when you got a bunch of idiots all agreeing on the same thing it doesn’t matter if 90% of people are evil and 90% of people agree on an evil thing it’s not going to bless our nation we must understand. That what exalts a nation according to the Bible what exalts a nation righteousness exalts a nation doing what’s right exalts a nation.

Democracy and democracy is great or de democratic republic which we are is great but it is not the be all end all if we want to be blessed as I’ve shown you in the scriptures this morning we. Must. Respond to his word I want to share with you a uh current day. What is. This a current day. Plan this is from a politician he says here is my plan to stop chemical physical and emotional mutilation of our youth. Today he’s going to revoke gender ing care uh that is given to kids puberty blockers that mutate their ph physical appearance and ultimately perform surgery on minor.

▶ 20:40 Children let me keep going here he wants to cease all programs that promote the concept of gender transition at any age and he’ll ask congress to stop federal taxpayer dollars from being used to promote. This if you were to hear or read this policy and not see the person who said it you might agree with. It okay and I’m not going to tell you who that’s your Job but I want to express that that is something that agrees with the Bible okay we have to understand that Christ he responded to this question in red letters he says from the beginning God made us male and female and we are the temple of God we can’t sit here and hurt the temple that God has created we have an identity given to us by God and it is.

▶ 21:40 Sacred and we can mutilate it all we want it doesn’t mean it’s right we can think that it’s right it doesn’t mean it’s right according to the Scriptures according to Christ he has given us an identity Romans chapter 3. 13:3 rulers are not a terror to good works but to evil do you want to be unafraid of authority do what is good and you will have praise from the same for he is God’s minister to you for good but if you do evil be afraid he does not bear the sword in vain he is God’s minister and avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil so Paul or the writer of Romans here is reminding us that the government is not bad government is instituted by who by God but government has a responsibility.

▶ 22:40 To. Uh to do what is good to praise the good doer and to say to the one who’s doing evil no. Amen that is according to the scriptures what the government should be doing. And God has a question for us this morning what about. Us it we can’t point the finger at everybody all the time it starts with us it’s not just the government it’s not just though that person this person’s affecting my life it’s it’s also about you amen are we good leaders are we good leaders in our home are we good leaders in uh as as parents.

Spouses what is our example in Titus 1:5 God gives the uh helps us understand the requirements and what what a leader should be doing if a man is blameless the husband of one wife having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination oh boy I might be in trouble. Here just kidding a bishop must be blameless as a steward of God not self-willed not quick-tempered somebody who throw who flies off the handle gets upset easily not given to wine not v vient not greedy for money you you got somebody who’s drinking and somebody who’s violent looking as it’s as the other requirement was somebody who’s covetous they’re greedy for money but they should be.

▶ 24:43 Hospitable able to serve a lover of what is what good sober minded just holy my goodness man what a so we have a big thing to live up to if you want to be a good leader you got to start setting some goals am I going to be someone who’s sober minded I’m going to am I going to love what is good am I going to control myself am I going to be holy meaning keep God’s word you know we hear all the time that we’re sinners yes we’ve sinned but what are we doing. Now are you trying to be transformed into the likeness and the glory of God we were made in his image. And the Psalms say I will not be satisfied until I awake in his likeness.

▶ 25:39 Yes we got problems yes we have sinned yes but we can change every day until we awake in his image and in his likeness amen amen yeah you’re not going to be perfect in in you know a short period it’s not a popcorn thing but you’ve got to let God’s word as as we have shared many times I feel like I’ve repeating myself so much uh when I share up here and I feel bad for you guys you’re like I’ve heard this. Already but it’s true we’ve got to put God’s word into us we’ve got to take time beond on our knees pray lift up his name take time for God get close to him worship him don’t don’t miss an opportunity to worship God when you go home you can worship.

▶ 26:42 God don’t keep God far away bring his word into your life follow. It holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught that he may be able by sound ro doctrine to exhort and convict those who contradict it’s important that we understand God’s word and we understand sound doctrine so when people come in and they start preaching something else we know the truth. Amen Matthew 18:6 whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin it would be be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea God does not like. It when we mess around with innocent.

▶ 27:38 Children and we influence them for wrong we hurt them directly God does not like. That it’s. Serious Proverbs 21:10 when the scoffer is punished the simple is made wise it’s important that we uh you know punishment isn’t a bad thing you know thank God I’m punished now and I don’t have to go up to him and be like hey I didn’t get punished well I’m going to spank you now and I’m going to spank you right out of this. Kingdom how many want to be spanked out of God’s kingdom I don’t want to be spanked out of his kingdom I want him to correct me now remember that you know God’s correction now means that I get to be in his kingdom later. If I’m willing to respond I can have those good things in his kingdom res punishment or spanking is not a bad thing in.

Amen Leviticus 26:23 if you walk contrary to me I will walk contrary to you we don’t want to be contrary to God do you want to be contrary to God you want to walk against him I don’t want to walk against him I would hate to be on the wrong side my goodness you know whatever his word says you do the opposite whatever uh uh you know there there’s a Bible out there that is basically the opposite of the Bible right I wouldn’t want to be those. People says if you walk contrary to me I will walk contrary to you and a lot of people aren’t uh directly going against God they’re kind of our neglect ing God and you know he’s walking and they’re walking away from God you know you can walk against God you can walk away from God you can be like I don’t want any part of you.

▶ 29:39 But we need to be walking what with God we need to be walking in his ways Isaiah 9:6 for to us a child is born and to us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulders and he will be called wonderful counselor mighty God everlasting father prince of peace of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no. End Jesus. Christ is a king because he is the best person ever to be king kingdoms haven’t worked in the past because people are corrupt but Christ is not corrupt and his laws haven’t changed he doesn’t changes laws on a whim.

▶ 30:47 Revelation says that Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever Christ is the best. And he has a kingdom he has a government and we want to be part of that remember the prayer the lord’s prayer he said our father hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on what earth as it is in. Heaven there is a will in heaven being carried out right now he is the king of the kingdom in heaven and that kingdom can be brought to. Earth remember this Bible says the kingdom of God is what within.

▶ 31:41 You you don’t it’s not just in. Heaven the kingdom of God is within you it’s here the kingdom of God is at hand it’s available it’s right here. So this morning are we willing to. Follow God’s laws to live in his kingdom how many of you want that dream the American dream uh that we can have in. America just like the American dream we can have by working hard following the law we can have the same thing in God but a much better dream a much better eternal life it’s called who wants eternal life amen I want eternal life too we.

▶ 32:45 Must keep his laws keep his commandments amen and if you want help in keeping his commandments as it was shared before we we started the word this morning greater is he who is in me than he who is in the world amen you’ve got to get God in you in the Bible there are two examples that I can think of off the top of my head the men on the road to emmas Jesus was going to keep walking they were talking to him they didn’t know it was Jesus the Jesus that they believed him they were talking to him on the road to emmas they were walking and they got to where they were going and Jesus was just going to keep on walking but these men said wait a sec wait wait wait no no no no no come with us we they it’s the Bible says they constrained.

▶ 33:40 Jesus and God is asking us this morning do you let Jesus just keep. Walking the disciples were in a storm p trying to get through the waves in their boat and all of a sudden this man starts walking on the water p and it says he would have passed them by do you remember. That and in your life Christ is passing. By he’s around all the time and we have a choice of whether or not we’re going to reach out and grab him take time for him take time for his words that he drops and speaks. Are we willing to be good leaders if you want to be a good leader you got to get God in you amen so you stand and sing this with me as a prayer this.

So if you’re willing to submit to God this morning to submit to his truth his laws if you’re willing to grab a hold of him right now is our opportunity and you don’t want to stop in your life you want to take time you need to carve out some time where you grab a hold of God. He’s like make he’s like making a as long as you’re breathing he’s making a circle in your life he’s he’s over here wait you know you know maybe next day he’s over here you got to reach out and grab him he’s.

And all the blessings that are great in America but Lord more than all of that God we pray that you would raise up. People God that take up their this freedom of speech that we have Lord that you would raise up people with such fire in their hearts God to speak the truths of the living God Lord that would speak the great truths of the Bible God Lord like those in oklahoma who changed the laws God Lord that brought God the ten commandments back into their state.
