Falling For Lies — August 11, 2024: full transcript and answers

▶ 0:14 We were talking about uh the lying spirit. And we talked about the story of Ahab and the lying spirit that convinced him to go and and and fall. And so we know that there are lies being told and it’s important in our time in our era in california and the United States of America to uh be able to distinguish truth from lies amen amen 2 Timothy 43:43 says for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but according to their own desires because they have itching ears they will heap up for themselves teaching. And uh this is basically people that are saying oh I don’t want to hear sound doctrine anymore I want to hear what I want to hear and I’m going to hire somebody to tell me what I want to hear and that’s basically the story that Ahab was in he had hired a bunch of men to kind of par it and just say what he wanted to.

▶ 1:22 Hear they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fables and so um in our time we’re we’re we’re living in a time where we’re turning our ears away from truth and I’m going to get into that in a few minutes here um and we’re we’re listening to fables are things that are untrue they’re they’re just uh pictures and um video editing to make a story look like it is true when really it’s not it’s just a fable it’s it’s false.

▶ 2:00 And it goes on to continue with that scripture there but uh we want to talk this morning about uh specifically um the lies being taught in public schools lies being taught in any national park or state park that you go to uh during vacations I would always travel to our national parks, Zion or Yosemite or Grand Canyon wherever you go and they have the placards and the information they tell you oh this uh you know all this formed a million years they can tell you exactly how it happened when it happened even though they weren’t there millions of years ago and u that all of that teaching has surfaced into our public schools and it’s being taught to our children it’s being taught to our children in public school and also when they go to college it’s being taught and uh it’s it’s very important that we keep um knowing what the truth is you got to get some other inputs as you a young person you got to get all the inputs you know you’re going to public school you’re going to college and this they’re just constantly bombarding you with evolution and and they’re not telling you the whole story and uh they want you to get away from and undermine your belief in God as the creator as the uh founders of our nation.

▶ 3:26 Declared and so I want to share a couple videos talking about evolution just giving you guys some good information get your mind thinking and uh this is where uh to me some of the things that the scripture is talking about where it says they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fables okay so a lot of money is being spent on all of this evolutionary doctrine that’s being taught but if you ask just normal questions and think um basic thinking you can see that it’s not true okay we got a nice big tv here so you guys can see uh I need to mic it so give me just a moment to sort this. ▶ 6:11 Okay oh not you. Next. Oops okay so now this is you know these are not Christians here the they’re just in this video they’re showing you how the dna and your cells uh inside of you how they. Uh duplicate and the guy’s going to share he’s going to be give you the reason why but if you look at these strands here they’re giving you a computer uh generated rendition of what is happening in your body all the time okay all the time your body is repairing itself with billions of cells and this is just a short video showing the process of cell division and it shows I want to show you this because it shows machines in your body you have little machines that are working all the time.

▶ 7:19 These are tiny molecular machines and they are doing this inside your body right now to understand why we have to zoom out every day in an adult human body 50 to 70 billion of your cells die either they’re stressed or damaged or just old but this is normal in fact it’s called programmed cell death but to make up for all these lost cells right now billions of your cells are dividing essentially creating new cells and that process of cell division also called mitosis well it requires an army of tiny molecular machin so let’s take a closer. Look dna is a good place to start the double helix molecule we always talk about this is a scientifically accurate depiction of dna created by drew barry at the walter and elizah hall institute of medical research if you unwind the two strands you can see that each has a sugar phosphate backbone connected to the sequence of nucleic acid base pairs known by the letters a t g and c now the strands run in opposite directions which is important when you to copy dna copying dna is one of the first steps in cell.

▶ 8:36 Division here the two strands of dna are being unwound and separated by the tiny blue molecular machine called helicase helicase literally spins as fast as a jet engine the strand of dna on the right has its complimentary strand assembled continuously but the other strand is more complicated because it runs in the opposite direction so it must be looped out with its complimentary strand assembled in reverse section by section at the end of this process you have two identical dna molecules each one a few centim long but just a couple nanometers wide so to prevent the dna from becoming a tangled mess it is wrapped around proteins called histones forming a nucleosome these nucleosomes are bundled together into a fiber known as chromatin which is further looped and coiled to form a chromosome one of the largest molecular structures in your body.

▶ 9:33 Oh these are tiny molecular machines and they doing this inside just a second here sorry I wanted to make sure you understood what you’re looking at here. So if in science let’s see if you guys ever remember science class remember chromosomes they shaped like some weird x’s right and uh basically all these purple things are are they’re all wrapped together and it’s wound so tight. Uh it looks like just a big mush of whatever right but it’s actually all dna strands being wound together they’re wound so tight they that they uh they can see chromosomes under a microscope and that’s what these are this whole bunch of everything the candy cane looks like a big candy cane it’s it’s a chromosome one chromosome that is in one of your cells right now.

▶ 11:05 You can actually see chromosomes under a microscope in dividing cells only then do they take on their characteristic shape otherwise the dna is more strewn inside the nucleus the process of dividing a cell takes around an hour in mammals so this footage is from a time lapse you can see how the chromosomes line up on the equator of the cell. Now when everything is right they are pulled apart into the two new daughter cells each one containing an identical copy of dna now as simple as this looks the process is incredibly complicated and requires even more fascinating molecular machines to accomplish it so let’s look at a single chromosome one chromosome consists of two sausage shaped chromatids containing the identical copies of dna made earlier each chromatid is attached to microtubule fibers which guide and help align them in the correct position the microtubules are connected to the chromatid at the kinetochore here colored red the kinetochore consists of hundreds of different proteins I was at a museum.

▶ 12:15 Recently and uh uh this chromosome is a bunch of dna wound together okay and it’s wound together if you if you unwind it it’s about 6 feet long if you take all of the unwound dna in your body they say it can reach to the sun and back did you know that and this is dna uh in your body all right these chromosomes unwound the all of what you have contain in your body can be unwound to the sun in back on these chromosomes working together to achieve multiple objectives in fact it’s one of the most sophisticated molecular mechanisms inside your body the kinetic cor is central to the successful separation of the chromatids it creates a dynamic connection between the chromosome and the microtubules for a reason no one’s yet been able to figure out the microtubules are constantly being built at one end and deconstructed at the other while the chromosome is still getting ready the kinetic or sends out a chemical stop signal to the rest of the cell shown here by the red molecules basically saying this chromosome is not yet ready to divide.

▶ 13:33 The kineticore also mechanically senses tension when the tension is just right and the position and attachment are correct all the proteins get ready shown here by turning green at this point the stop signal broadcasting system is not switched off instead it is literally carried away from the kinetochore down the microtubules by a dining motor that’s the walking guy this is really what it looks like it has long legs so it can avoid obstacles and step over the kyans molecular motors that walk in the opposite. Direction personally I’m astounded by these tiny molecular machines how they’re able to routinely and faithfully execute their functions billions of now this guy he’s I don’t think he’s a Christian and he’s just they they’re going in and they like the science of it all and we like the science of it all too when you go into the human body body and you see what’s happening uh it’s hard to look at this stuff and not think oh or or think this is happened by accident I’m uh I work in the it industry I’ve worked in the it it industry for 19 years now and I know that this stuff this kind of stuff doesn’t happen by accident okay and this is for you young people need to hear this they’re telling you that this all happened by accident all right all right that you are one happy accident and you’re.

Created all right down in the bottom you see it says public class methods example this is a simple java code for adding two numbers together all right see uh in addition x + y return addition it’s a function blah blah blah blah blah so you notice there’s some words in there that you recognize right like public addition you know those those words return okay this is java code all right uh in your body you have dna cod all right that has is similar to this kind of uh instructions and what is this doing this is adding two numbers together what is going on in your body your body is repairing itself and keeping you what.

Function right um in the the business world you have java code but java code is just a it’s they’re just letters okay and they mean nothing unless you can translate. The letters you guys understand that and that’s where the java virtual machine comes in it says okay I understand what you’re writing here and I’m going to tell the computer what to do to add those two numbers and to give you back that number okay so it’s in the middle and it’s translating and that’s like a lot of what’s going on in your body right now you have dna code uh you have a translator of your code the ribosomes are are making these cells and also you have to have what’s on the top right anybody know what that top right picture is raise your hand if you can tell me is this.

▶ 17:10 Nobody come on thr just throw out a guess thank you sir a server and the server rooms they look like this they’re big uh they’re just tall cases and they just have these blades that they push in there we got food at the door there um and a server is basically a cpu ram or memory uh storage or like a hard drive and a motherboard okay that’s basically the four basic things and of course you need what power right all these data sources they’re sucking the life out of our energy and that’s I’m sorry the data centers are using a ton of power um over here this is binary code.

▶ 18:00 Binary means what two what are the two numbers in in code zero and one so in your dna what do you have how many are there there’s four at tc gc or at gc okay so you’re they’re just we’re using this as an example so first of all you have to have what what’s this the code and then here you have the translator all right and I’m sorry I’m pointing it here you have the translator he understands what the code is and he talks to the server which is basically the hardware so I’ve never seen a server walk out of the data. Center I mean and I’ll give that to the evolution so I’ll say here here’s power I’ll hook up power oh here’s the server cpu got a brain it’s not coming out of there.

Down we actually have on call support for our data center every day in different teams middle tier the server team and we have to keep these data centers running because they’re going to what they’re going to shut down things break all the time. Okay does this am I making sense are you young people hearing this you getting this they’re trying to tell you that you started from something uh very simple and all of a sudden now you’re you’re be you’re you’re more complicated than a server with all of this stuff the dna code that’s in your body has three billion lines of code in it it can fill 100 books with just code all the pages full the y human genome did you know.

▶ 20:13 That and all of that code means something it’s important and if that code is messed up and disorganized it doesn’t mean it’s not going to work so for any program that we’ve at my company uh to just for it to come about by accident is impossible and it’s absurd to think so and it’s the same way with your code in your in your in your dna uh for this this translator to happen by accident is impossible for the ribosome to happen in your body by accident is impossible for this server with the physical parts to be created that can actually run this code in this translator to just happ them out of nowhere is. Impossible and you’re do you understand what I’m saying the code has to run somewhere it has to be translated it has to live on something okay it’s absurd to.

▶ 21:13 Think that we are an accident God our creator created our and wrote our dna he is our author he’s written the dna in your body he’s created you body soul and Spirit Bill Gates who is not a Christian he says dna is like a computer program but far far more advanced than any software we’ve ever created and they’re saying it happened by accident it can’t be. Folks okay so we’re looking at evidence we’re looking at things that we can observe on this planet right now it’s happening in your body and they know this to be true and still in our universities.

Uh let’s see I wanted to share this guy because I thought he was pretty good let me ask you this question which is why are you so interested in this biblical story as opposed to any other biblical story well there that is because first of all Jesus believed in the flood model and it’s the it’s the basis for the entire authenticity of the Bible if you can prove that the Genesis story is false you have destroyed the entire belief system that on which christianity is based so that’s why we use this model to show people that Noah’s ark was real and that the story is true well couldn’t the story have been symbolic metaphor for other kinds of events that took place how about creation couldn’t that have been symbolic or or metaphorical in in the language that’s there well it it is possible but when we look at the uh four postulates of creation and we compare them with the four postulates of evolution only the postulates of creation have been observed evolution is based on four major ideas none of them have ever been observed number one that life comes from non-life we have not

▶ 23:48 one single example of life coming from non-life number two that all the life forms that we have today came from single cell life forms many people do not know that while we do have single cell life forms that we call bacteria we have no two cell life forms we don’t have three cell life forms we don’t have four cell life forms we don’t even have five cell life forms that is we go from single cell bacteria to complex life forms so there’s no evidence that all life comes from single cell life forms the the the third postulate of evolution is that time and chance drive evolution forward of course and time works against evolution the chance of one simple 100 unit protein coming together by accident is this is a very big number time and chance make evolution absolutely impossible the fourth postul that evolution is based on is that um what we see today minor genetic variation in species is evidence of macro evolution so because cats are different colors dogs are different sizes that means that fish turned into cows and of course we know that that’s not true because u mandel proved that all the genes that exist today you can shuffle them around but there are no new genes that created were created let’s let’s think about the four major postulates of creation number one where there’s a design there must be a designer we see codes in dna codes are evidence of intelligence because you have to translate from one

▶ 25:18 language to another we have not a single example of that happening by accident number two that the earth the solar system the universe and the galaxy are young measured in thousands of years not millions or billions of years many times people ask me them say well major you believe in a young earth a 6,000 year earth can you show me that that’s true without using the Bible and I say absolutely what’s the oldest living thing on the planet the oldest living thing on the planet trees how old are the oldest trees 4500 years that takes us back almost exactly to the year of the flood okay in 2500 bc number two I’m saying look at the sky uh uh we call solar nebuli a solar nebuli is uh what we see from a supernova when a star explodes it leaves a gas cloud because of our radio telescopes that we have now today we can look deep into space and we can actually count the number of solar nebuli that are there and how many are there a supernova uh takes place about once every 26 years how many solar nebula do we have 6,000 years worth that’s impossible in a universe that is billions and billions of years old and we have other evidences such as alpha decay that we do in our program that most people don’t understand that also shows that the earth is 6,000 years old so that’s the second postu that proves that the biblical story of creation is true life that we see today are

▶ 26:49 the basic kinds of animals and plant life that were originally created so we can test that you can breed dogs you can breed cats but you can’t breed cat cats with dogs so there are limits to how far we can go and lastly that is earth experienced a worldwide flood in approximately 2500 bc. 1656 years after the world was created the world is filled with limestone limestone is sedimentary rock it precipitates out of water the entire earth was filled with water every mountain chain in the world including everest has sea life on top of that mountains the mountains rose out of the water so we know that there was a worldwide flood let me let me pose a question to you and mark and least feel free to jump in in this that is this most people who don’t believe in God aren’t card caring members of the atheist club they haven’t studied molecular biology yes why don’t they believe in God what is the struggle there um I’m going to tell you that’s a very good question my answer to that is probably because most of them has not actually seen the evidence that supports the Bible and that is my job to actually show them you’re right most people are somewhere drifting somewhere in the middle this is a war for ideas and it’s my job it’s my job to combat these forces of error particularly in

▶ 28:20 secular campuses and in universities which is where I work and teach and show that the evidence supports God’s word God is a God of science that’s fantastic pose this question to you guys say someone grows up going to a Christian church say they have been surrounded by you know a church I was looking for something else that he said that I thought was good but uh one of the things that he says is that Jesus believed in the flood and it’s true Jesus believed in the Old Testament he will he quotes the Old Testament several times and he says that we were created what male and female where did he get that from he got it from Genesis so Jesus believed in the Genesis account of creation and uh he was also there doing it himself.

▶ 29:19 So you can’t just throw out this uh I the you can’t throw out that God is our creator all right and it’s not right that uh our money is being spent to teach children. Otherwise uh let’s see. Oops Mr. Ken Ham is talking about dna here he’s with Answers in Genesis and he is sharing also about uh the most important evidence for God and he also says at the end that you still need some faith to believe but the evidence is there.

Oops so there’s more advocates for this message and I’m just sharing these are just things that we’re touching on and and 2024 there are so many groups and organizations that are putting out really good information for us young people amen so I want you guys to know that they’re there and that they can answer a lot of your questions uh sometimes us creationists they’ll start making theories about stuff they don’t know about uh and so I’m uh I’m just want to share hate just look at the evidence they’re presenting on the stuff that they do see that’s stuff that we can observe and they have really good answers to a lot of these question questions uh living waters put out a a video evolution versus God answers in Genesis has a lot of resources about uh Genesis and the the flood and they have the they have the ark encounter I don’t know if you guys have heard of that in kentucky and um we were just down in san diego and there’s a creation museum and the institute of creation research is down there a lot of people are putting their private money to spread this message and and they’re trying to let people know that this is um I mean can you imagine if they didn’t if there weren’t if there wasn’t research about all this we wouldn’t know these things we wouldn’t have uh the other side of the argument amen so it’s very important to have that and it’s

▶ 31:44 also uh so that we know we’re not just believing you know we got to read God’s word and just believe what it here believe it Michael no there’s evidence to back it up there’s evidence that supports it. State parks national parks uh board of education media corporations uh research grant money colleges there there’s a lot of funding that is supporting the evolutionary doctrine that is being put out the theories and uh we don’t want to forget that that needs to be uh addressed Oklahoma is teaching the Bible again in schools and I think that’s a great uh comeback for the Bible and for God’s word amen and I don’t you know the guy is saying that uh because they’re saying that it should be a separation of church and state and that’s a whole another topic and it’s really not separation of church and state and we can go into that another time but um he’s still doing it the the state of Oklahoma is still doing it and we need to pray that that keeps happening in other states and that God that um that uh God blesses that in the state of Oklahoma and uh we need to pray that God really shows America hey Oklahoma has come back to the word of God and it’s blessing their state and it’s blessing their children and we need that back in the states again

▶ 33:15 so I encourage you we got to keep fighting this fight for truth Romans chapter 1 verse 20 for since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly. Seen being understood from what has been made so that people are without excuse you see as time goes on and as uh you know we’re in the latest technology age right we we can see what’s happening in the human body we can see what’s going on we have research in in the stars and everything and all this information’s coming in and still people are saying no no they’re blinding their eyes saying no there’s no creator we happen by accident that’s what the scripture is saying uh God’s invisible qualities you know years ago they couldn’t see germs they couldn’t see the machines in your bodies they couldn’t see the dna we can see it now what’s our excuse.

▶ 34:23 Folks the creator is there he created you you what are you going to do with him what decision are you going to. Make Acts chapter 19:35 the city clerk quieted the crowd and said fellow Ephesians doesn’t all the world know that the city of Ephesus is the guardian of the temple of the great Artemis and of her image which fell from heaven since these facts are undeniable you ought to calm down and not do anything rash so here we have a story in acts uh this is after the death of Jesus after his resurrection and the apostles are going throughout and they’re sharing the gospel they come to Ephesus and these people have this.

▶ 35:16 Really you know belief that Artemis this this God of the a greek goddess uh that uh she’s these facts are undeniable she came down her image fell from heaven it’s undeniable that’s the same kind of terminology we’re getting today in America and throughout the world in the western world they have really. Uh tried to snuff out the message of a creator and uh when you go to college it’s taught evolution is taught as a fact it’s not taught as a theory.

▶ 36:01 In Acts 19:24 before this is all happening the silversmith named Demetrius he had made making he he’s making shrines for Artemis he brought a lot of business for the craftsman there and he called everybody together and he has this conversation he he says you know my friends we receive a good income from this business you see and hear how this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large number of peoples in Ephesus and practically the whole province of asia he says that the gods made by human hands are not God gods at all and there is a danger not only that our trade will lose its good name but also that the temple of the great goddess emis will be des. Discredited and so they’re having this conversation first of all they’re saying we’re going to lose our livelihood and we’re going to lose our money.

▶ 37:00 Because this Paul is preaching that idols aren’t real idols aren’t real gods and you see we want to know what is truth here are idols gods no they’re not and the the the scientists today can help us prove that there’s no God in this idol. Right but also what we understand from this story is that their money and their livelihood is involved here and right now the money and the livelihood tied to the ev evolutionary theory is is really uh a big thing so when these people are you know you go and you try to give them truth and I like oh thank you for sharing the truth well hold on a minute they don’t want to give.

Lastly Jeremiah 29:13 says you will seek me and find me when you seek for me with all your heart so that’s the number one question beyond all the evidence beyond your belief in evolution whatever it may be God is is saying if you cut through all that and seek me you can find me if you seek me with all your heart Proverbs 2:4 if you seek for it as silver and search for it as hidden treasures you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God you don’t have to sit back and and wonder and question if you seek Christ you can meet him you can find him you can know him and that is really the biggest evidence for God is that when you seek him when you apply his word to your life he will come to you if you seek other gods if you seek an idol God that idol is not going to do.

And God is asking us today what are we believing do we believe in his truth do we believe that he created us the scriptures say that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Separation of church and state socalled is used to remove biblical teaching in public will you stand up for his teaching I’ve said this before somebody is going to win somebody’s message is going to be preached somebody’s going to make.
