From the sermonExcept You Become as Little Children · Pastor David G. Kincer▶ 0:00

In this message Pastor David G. Kincer continues his series on stages of Christian growth and explains the child stage: those who are born again and now obey the Word. He reads Matthew 18:3, the disciples called “children” who still needed the meat of the Word, and 1 John 2 on the last time and the many antichrists. He then describes what a spiritual person looks like and what he believes the “little child shall lead them” of Isaiah 11 points to: a coming move of God led by grown, obedient believers.

What are the embryo and newborn stages of growth in the Christian life?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: He says in the embryo stage people respond to hearing the Word: some reject or mock it and say it is “an inconvenient time,” while others believe, repent and follow Christ, “not a church, not an author, not an apostle.” In the newborn stage “their sins are forgiven” and they “desire the sincere milk of the Word.”

▶ 0:00 So today we’re going to look at the child stage of growth from the Bible. Okay, remember the embryo stage is when they hear the Word. It’s how they responded when they heard the Word. And they rejected the Word, they mocked when they heard the Word and rejected the Word. They not only mocked, but some of them abused the Bible, Jesus, and His followers, mistreated, lambasted, put down, persecuted others. Said, “It’s not a convenient time, it’s an inconvenient time. Wait, I’m out to high school. Wait, I’m out of college. Wait till I’m done raising my family,” whatever. It’s an inconvenient time for me to follow God. “Okay, we’ll hear you again. I’ll hear you again, but you know, I’m not ready to make that decision.” And then others believed, repented, and followed Christ. The important word there is “follow.” They followed who? Christ. Not a church, not an author, not an apostle, but they followed Christ.

▶ 1:14 The newborn stage, you remember, their sins are forgiven. They come to Jesus to learn from Him. So this is their growing effort: they desire the sincere milk of the Word, the Scriptures, to grow, which is repentance from dead works, faith toward God, not toward a denomination, not toward a minister, faith toward who? God. Repentance from works that brings the second death, destruction, the lake of fire. Baptisms: how many baptisms are there? Three: baptism of the Holy Ghost, baptism in water, and baptism into the body, and He chooses where you fit into the body, not you. He chooses.

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

What do baby Christians do: praise, doing good, and partnership?

▶ Watch this part (2:00)

Short answer: He says babies are being built into “a spiritual house” looking for the presence of Jesus, and their main weapon is “the sacrifice of praise.” They also offer “the sacrifice of doing good” and “the sacrifice of partnership,” going to church “not to be entertained” but to reach the unbeliever and grow the unlearned, and they offer their bodies as a living sacrifice.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 2:00 Okay, and then we have the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment, after laying on of hands, and that is the second coming, resurrection and the eternal judgment is the second coming. And it’s baby doctrine. It’s kindergarten doctrine. It’s not mature doctrine and sound doctrine at all. They are also being built a spiritual house, inhabited by who? Jesus. Not a rock concert, not a dance company, not mimes. Those are all tools we can use, but these people are looking for the presence of Jesus. And presence of who? Jesus. Not Allah, not Joseph Smith, Jesus Christ. It’s very important that people understand this stuff. We read it, we don’t get it, but we got to get it. Okay, that’s their effort of growth. Their main weapon is the sacrifice of praise to still the enemy and avenger. They boast about Jesus, they sing about Him, they shout unto Him, they speak of His greatness, and that is the weapon that destroys the devouring enemy and the avenger.

▶ 3:22 Hallelujah. So the babies are very strong in praising God, boasting of God, because that destroys their enemy. They have a tremendous tool. They also offer the sacrifice of doing good. They don’t want to do good. They may not want to get up on Monday morning and go to work, but it’s good. See, they might not want to clean the toilet in the house, but it’s good. It’s good. They may not want to love the lousiest member of the body of Christ, but it’s a good thing to do, so they do it. It’s a sacrifice. A sacrifice is something you don’t want to do. So see, babies go to church by a sacrifice, not a compelling. They’d rather sleep in on Sunday, they’d rather, you know, relax on Friday night or whenever their church services are, but it’s a good thing, so they do what is good. It’s a sacrifice.

▶ 4:22 Partnership. The sacrifice of partnership, fellowship, koinonia. They go to church, not to be entertained, not to get a man and a woman to marry them, but that’s a good place to find one. They go to church for a partnership. Partnership to what? To reach the unbeliever and to grow the unlearned. Are you there? They don’t come to church just to get something. They come to church to get and to give, and they’re there to help the unlearned grow up. They’re there to help the unbeliever become a believer. That’s the partnership. And sadly, in America we don’t have a lot of partners. Why? We haven’t passed the newborn stage yet.

▶ 5:29 You see, going to church is just something convenient for them, going to a Bible study is something convenient for them, or whatever. They do everything out of convenience. But a real born again person will hear the Word and respond to the Word in that area of growth. Could that be an amen? You see, we have a responsibility to the unlearned and the unbeliever. We have that responsibility. And then they offer their physical body a living sacrifice unto God. So they do get up in the morning, they tell that body what to do, they do lift their hands and praise God, they do get involved. See, they offer their bodies, their physical body, a living sacrifice for Christ.

What weaknesses do baby Christians have, and how should the church treat them?

▶ Watch this part (6:14)

Short answer: He says babies are “jealous, they argue and quarrel, they’re sectarian, they divide” because “they haven’t learned the Word yet,” and still struggle with the works of the flesh. He says “we don’t throw babies out of the house because they haven’t grown up yet,” that “our job is to help them grow up,” and that they are “tossed about by every wind of deceptive doctrine.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 6:14 Now, they have a weakness. Their weaknesses are they’re jealous, they argue and quarrel, they’re sectarian, they divide. “I’m a Baptist, I’m a Pentecostal, I’m a Catholic, I’m a this, I’m a that.” You see, they’re very sectarian. They’re weak in that. Why? Because they haven’t learned the Word yet. They haven’t developed spiritually yet. And we don’t throw babies out of the house because they haven’t grown up yet, have we? Yeah. Our job is to help them grow up. And so when a baby needs you, you give them attention that they need. They have problems in the flesh, the carnal, with sexual immorality, anger, hatred, intoxication, partying, profanity, heresies, selfishness, and rebellion.

▶ 7:24 Those are all works of the flesh, those are what the people of the world do, and so a baby hasn’t conquered a lot of these things yet. And that’s our responsibility to help them what? Grow up. Not put them down. You recognize the problem and you help them grow through that problem. Now that’s a good place for a good amen. You see, we got to get the mindset that we come to church for a purpose, not just for ourself and our convenience. It is not convenient to fight a war, it is very inconvenient, and we are in a war. The Bible says, hallelujah, they are tossed about by every wind of deceptive doctrine. Any new book that comes out, babies, they’re tossed about. “Oh, this is the new thing.” And it’s our job to what? Bring them back to the soundness of the Scripture. Yes. Not separate and divide.

What is the child stage, and how do you know the Father? (1 John 2:13; 2:3)

▶ Watch this part (8:40)

Short answer: He says the child stage is when people are not only born again but “now they’re obeying the Word of God.” He says knowing God is a relationship that births “a desire, a compelling that is birthed in us to obey,” so the proof that I know God is the desire to obey “because I met the Man.” He says every Christian came through these stages: “none of you went from zero to maturity on the night you accepted Christ.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 8:40 Now, the child stage. In 1 John 2:13: “I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father.” Now this word is used in the New Testament from infant, John the Baptist and Jesus, to 12 years old. The girl that got delivered by Jesus was 12 years old and called a little child. And so it’s basically used from age two and up. The little children that got killed by Herod were to age two and down. Okay, so it’s basically used from age two and up. All right. Now, how do I know the Father? 1 John 2:3: “We do know that we know Him if we keep His commandments.”

▶ 9:44 Now we know that knowing God is a relationship with Him, but in that relationship there is a desire, a compelling that is birthed in us to obey the one we’re in relationship with. It’s not just having an experience with Jesus. It’s because of that experience, from that experience, I am compelled to obey Him. And so the fruit and the proof that I know God is not my experience with Him by itself, it’s the desire and the compelling to obey Him because I met the Man. Amen.

▶ 10:40 So this is the child stage. They have got past the baby stage. They not only now have an experience with God, they not only been born again, but now they’re obeying the Word of God. That’s the child stage. Ain’t that good? Hallelujah. And this is the problem in America: American Christians do not know what stage they’re at, and most of them are at baby stage, and they haven’t even conquered the baby doctrines yet, and it’s sad. And that’s why we as a church need to get the Word out to everybody. Could that be amen? We need to partner to get this word up. This definition, by the way, this definition clears up other Scriptures. When you understand when the Bible’s talking about this age group, that it’s talking in metaphors and parables, spiritual truths, of Christians that obey the Word of God. And we know in the embryo stage, that we’re in the embryo stage because we are responding different ways to the Word we hear.

▶ 12:11 And that’s right, but when we obey in the embryo stage that Word and respond to it and repent, we get born again and we become new babies. Now, in the new baby stage we learn these baby doctrines and we start walking in them. We know the Father because there’s a desire to learn and a desire to walk in them. Amen. And so we know the child stage is when we obey and learn each stage’s word that we’re at. And folks, there’s nothing wrong with being in the embryo stage if that’s where you’re at. We just got to help them what? Get born again. There’s nothing wrong with being a newborn Christian if that’s where they’re at. Every one of us came through these stages.

▶ 13:09 Am I right? None of you, I know the Bible, none of you went from zero to maturity on the night you accepted Christ. I know that’s not true. All of us went through these stages. We just didn’t know there were stages. In fact, the enemy tried to come in and destroy my faith in God because I hadn’t overcome things in my life. I’d been saved a week and I still had some sin in my life, and he comes in and tries to accuse me of being a phony and everything else. Any of you ever experienced that? And people will accuse me. But somewhere the Holy Ghost would say, “No.” I didn’t know the Word, but the Spirit of God would say, “No, give me time. You’ll get through these things.”

What does “Except you become as little children” mean? (Matthew 18:3)

▶ Watch this part (13:57)

Short answer: He says that as a “greenhorn minister” he illustrated childlikeness, but “it’s not a little kid He’s talking about.” He says it means getting to the stage where “you not only know God, but you obey His Word,” going through the embryo and newborn stages into the child stage, because the kingdom of God is “righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 13:57 So let me give a Scripture that’s cleared up by understanding what a little child is, that knows God through a relationship, through an experience, through being born again and obeying the Word. Matthew 18:3: “Except you be converted and become as little children, you will not enter the kingdom of God.” Now, when I was a greenhorn minister, I illustrated childlikeness. But when revelation come, it’s not a little kid He’s talking about. He’s talking about getting to the stage where you not only know God, but you obey His Word. “Unless you be converted,” changed, “and become as that child,” you get through the embryo, you get through the newborn stage and into the child stage, “you will not enter the kingdom of God.”

▶ 14:58 You see how clear that makes it? And it’s backed up when the rich man came to Christ, the noble man. He said, “What must I do to inherit the kingdom of God,” in, eternal life I should say. He said, “What says the Scriptures?” And he said, well, he went through the Scriptures. “Okay, you do this and you will live.” See, it backs that up, the child stage. And see, the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost, and if you want the righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost, you got to what? Get to the child stage.

Why did Jesus call grown disciples “children” and ask if they had “meat”? (John 21:5; Luke 24:41)

▶ Watch this part (15:38)

Short answer: He says Jesus called grown disciples who had healed the sick and cast out demons “children” because “they weren’t able to handle the meat of the Word yet,” contrasting “the milk of the Word” with “the meat of the Word.” He points to Luke 24, where Jesus “opened their understanding,” and 1 Corinthians 3:2, and says it makes him say, “I want to grow up.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 15:38 Hallelujah. All right, let’s look at another Scripture. John 21:5. Jesus said unto the disciples, who were grown men, over 30 years old, these guys were, some of them were even older, and He said to these disciples, “Children,” He called them children, “little children,” okay, “have you any meat?” The word “meat” there is not food, it actually means meat. See, “have you any meat?” See, there is the milk of the Word and there is the meat of the Word. You see, all of a sudden when you understand Bible definition, Scriptures begin to become clear to you. So He’s addressing these disciples as children. These guys had walked on water, these guys had healed the sick and converted people to Christ and cast out demons, and He calls them children. Why? Because they weren’t able to handle the meat of the Word yet, and He told them their heart’s hard. So He comes and He says this after His resurrection.

▶ 16:54 Now in Luke chapter 24:41, we have the same story, the same Scripture: “Have you any meat?” And then in verse 45, “He opened their understanding that they might understand the Scriptures.” Hallelujah. Here they cast out demons, they were getting people converted to Christ, they were healing the sick, and they didn’t understand the Scriptures. Could that be true today, that we don’t understand the Scriptures, we need the meat of the Word? Okay, are you with me? Yes. See, all of a sudden that story is important to me. Now, 1 Corinthians 3:2: “I have fed you with milk,” remember we use the Scripture, “and not with meat, for you were not able to bear it, neither now are you able.” You can’t handle meat. And meat’s up in the next stages. Actually, meat’s in the child stage.

▶ 18:08 They start eating that meat and go on to the next stages. So all of a sudden that story, those Scriptures, empower me. You see, they drive me to, “Hey, I want to understand the Scriptures. I want to grow up. I don’t want to stay down here because I got a few little things going good for me.” The apostles had some things going good for them. Casting out demons is more than most of you’ve done. Healing the sick, most of you, when you pray, people get sicker. It’s what happened to me when I was a young man. I went out trying to heal the sick and they got worse. You see, but we got a few things going for us, you know. We’ve been baptized in water, hallelujah, we’ve been baptized in the Holy Ghost, hallelujah. Okay, grow up. Say baptism of Holy Ghost is baby doctrine. Grow up. It’s there to help you grow up.

What does the parable of the children in the marketplace mean? (Luke 7:32; Matthew 13:38)

▶ Watch this part (19:11)

Short answer: He says the children calling to one another are believers who obey the Word and are trying to get others to respond, while “the children of the wicked one aren’t responding,” as with those who rejected both John the Baptist and Jesus. He says the children level is “not lookie-loos” but “out on the football field playing the game,” and “I become a soldier in the war between principalities and powers of darkness and the kingdom of God.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 19:11 Now the child stage clears up other Scriptures. Luke 7:32: “This generation is like children,” okay, little children that have known God and keep His Word, “sitting in the marketplace calling one to another.” Now here’s the catcher: they’re calling one to another. You getting the picture? These young children are calling out one to another. One is calling out to another kind of child. “We, this one type of children, have played the flute unto you,” the other type of children, “and you have not danced.” There was no response from you. “We, one type of children, have mourned to you, and you, the other type of children, have not wept.” No response. Matthew 13:38: “The good seed are the children of the kingdom, the tares are the children of” who? The wicked one.

▶ 20:17 So the tares are the children of who? The wicked one. And the children of the kingdom are the “we” who are trying to get them to respond, and the children of the wicked one aren’t responding. And He proves that by going on and saying, “For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you said he has a devil.” There’s that. You, you children of the wicked one, you didn’t respond. “The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘He’s a glutton, a man and a winebibber, and a friend of publicans and sinners.’” See, you guys rejected His message. All of a sudden that story becomes alive to me. And see, children who obey the Scriptures, they’re out there trying to get other people to obey the Scriptures, to come to Christ, to know Christ, and they are rejecting them. But they’re out there trying to get them to respond.

▶ 21:24 See, the children level are not lookie-loos. They’re not a fan in the stands. They’re out on the football field playing the game. You see, they’re not out just looking at houses because they enjoy looking at houses. They’re out to purchase pearls of great price for Christ. See, the children’s stage changes everything. The children’s stage, I get involved with what’s going on. I become a player in the game of eternal life. I become a soldier in the war between principalities and powers of darkness and the kingdom of God. I become a player, I become a warrior. Are you with me? Yes. And sadly, in America we don’t have a lot of children. “Wisdom is justified of her children,” He goes on to say. And so He was saying John the Baptist was reproducing people after Christ’s kind, and those children is what made the wisdom of John the Baptist and Jesus the thing to look to.

What does the child stage understand about “the last time” and the antichrist? (1 John 2:18, 2:21)

▶ Watch this part (22:39)

Short answer: He says “it is the last time” was written after Jesus ascended, so the last time started “2,000 years ago,” and that the Bible says “there are many antichrists, many opponents,” not one superhuman like “that movie.” He says children “know the truth,” repent when their conscience tells them they are wrong, and know Jesus personally.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 22:39 Now look at this. The child stage understands the end time and the Antichrist. They understand it. It’s no question to them. They got it cleared up. They’re not confused at all. Are you ready? 1 John 2:18: “Little children, it is the last time.” Oh, it is the last time. This was written after Jesus died and rose again and ascended back into heaven. So when did the last time start? 2,000 years ago. See, children understand it because they understand the Word. “You have heard that antichrist shall come.” See, they already heard the Antichrist is coming, the opposer of Christ, the enemy of Christ.

▶ 23:43 “And even now are there,” how many? Many antichrists. There’s not just one coming out of China. Jerry [unclear] tried to say that the Antichrist was born in 1990 and was going to come out of China. Well, it didn’t happen. Other people have titled the Antichrist as Kissinger and all kinds of different people. Come on, the Bible plainly tells you there are many antichrists, many opponents. “All right, whereby we know that it is the last time.” How do we know that this is the end age? Because there are opponents of Christ and there are many of them. You got it?

▶ 24:39 Now, what is Antichrist and when is it coming? Okay, we already showed you that the last time is when the Antichrist is coming, and we already showed you that there are many, and there are many today. Is there a lot of people opposing Christ? Yeah. No big deal. There’s no big superhuman like that movie, that distorted movie talks about that was put together to make money. Those guys made millions off of that, and it’s distorted doctrine. Chapter 2:21: “I have not written unto you, children, because you know not the truth, but because you know the truth and no lie is of the truth.” See, the children stage know the truth. Even if they mess up, they know. If they don’t understand that they did wrong scripturally, they know from their conscience they’re wrong, and so they repent and they make things right. And so children know the truth, and my Word, Jesus said, is truth, and Jesus is the truth. See, they know Him personally and they obey His Word. They know the truth.

Who does 1 John 2:22 say is antichrist, and can you separate the Father and the Son?

▶ Watch this part (25:56)

Short answer: He reads that the liar is “he that denies that Jesus is the Christ,” calling it a “very plain definition” that children understand without a “prophetic school.” He says you can’t accept the Father without the Son, points to Jesus’ words “Have I been so long with you” and John 1:1, and says “you can’t separate God and Jesus, folks.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 25:56 Now chapter 2, verse 22: “Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ?” There are people that say Jesus was not the Christ, the Anointed One to come to die for the sins of the world. Okay, they are antichrist. That’s how you know who they are. “He is antichrist.” He plainly says the person that denies that Jesus is the Christ is antichrist. Very plain definition, and children understand this. You don’t have to be in the prophetic school and the prophecy movement of the last time. All you have to do is be a child in God and He will open these basic truths up to you. Amen. Very plain. But see, we hear this preaching, we don’t know our Bible, we hardly ever read it anyway, and so we just believe what people tell us or some movie says.

▶ 27:10 “That denies the Father and the Son.” You see, you can’t accept one without the other. When Philip says, “You know, the greatest thing I want to do is see the Father.” Okay, Jesus turned to him. Now get the picture. Philip is asking to see the Father, “Father, reveal the Father to us.” Jesus turns to him and says, “Have I been so long with you, Philip, and you haven’t known Me?” So Jesus was who? God. He was the Father. John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God, and the Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us.” Who is God? Jesus.

▶ 28:06 And you see, we got a lot of people that deny that Jesus is God. We got a lot of people that deny that Christ has already come and fulfilled Old Testament’s prophecies. You can’t separate God and Jesus, folks, and these groups that try to, they’re wrong. There is one God, and He happens to speak of Himself in four different ways: the Word, the Spirit, the Son, and the Father. But He is what? One. Don’t you let Muslims and all that twist your thinking that we serve three gods. We don’t. We serve one God, and His name is the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Why? Because there was other Jesuses, but this one was born of a virgin.

What does 1 John 4:3 say, and how did he apply it to groups that deny Jesus is God?

▶ Watch this part (29:07)

Short answer: He reads that every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God, “this is that spirit of antichrist,” and says anyone who opposes God coming in the flesh through the virgin birth is that antichrist. He says he called the headquarters of several groups to ask whether Jesus is God (named in the transcript), and “I’m not preaching hatred, I’m preaching truth.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 29:07 1 John 4:3: “Every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh,” God came in a fleshly body, “they’re not of God. This is that spirit of antichrist, whereof you children have heard should come, and even now already is in the world.” So when is he coming? He’s already came. And anyone who opposes Christ being birthed of a virgin, God coming in the flesh, God is Jesus, is that antichrist, and we got a lot of them. The Jews, for example, are one. They don’t believe that Jesus was the Messiah. Okay, the Mormons are another. I call these people up and I said, “Is Jesus God?” “No.”

▶ 30:01 I said, “Well, what do you do with First John? And what do you do with Jesus said, you know, ‘Have I been so long with you’?” “No, no, He’s the Son of God.” I said, “What does it matter? You people, you just take selective Scriptures and make a doctrine out of it, distort people’s minds. It’s very plain that ‘the Word became flesh and dwelt among us’ and ‘the Word was God.’ Jesus said, ‘Have I been so long with you.’ What’s the problem here?” Muslims, the same way. Okay, Jehovah’s Witnesses, they’re antichrist. They’re antichrist because I’m being hateful? No, because the Bible says they are. I’m not preaching hatred, I’m preaching truth. I’m a child, I got to stick with truth. Children of God stick with truth.

▶ 30:59 Amen. Don’t twist things around, that I hate people and all that. I don’t hate anybody. My job is to tell the truth. And yes, I called them up personally, headquarters, and I asked them these questions, because I told them, “I want to hear it from the horse’s mouth. I don’t want to hear it from your little disciples out running around. I want to hear it from you.” Hallelujah. Yeah. If you want to understand Mountainside, be careful what you hear from the members. You better come to me and I’ll tell you what Mountainside stands for. I’ll tell you what I preach. All right, isn’t that good, that children understand the Antichrist and the end time?

When did the end time start, and can anyone know how long this age will last?

▶ Watch this part (31:49)

Short answer: He says “the end time started when Christ came,” when the age of the Old Testament ended and the age of the New Testament began, also called “the times of the Gentiles.” He says “nobody knows how long this age is going to go on,” and “when they tell you, they’re lying, because the Bible says nobody knows.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 31:49 So see, the end time started when Christ came. The New Testament and the Old Testament ended, the age of the Old Testament ended, the age of the New Testament began, and we’re in the age of the New Testament. It’s also called the times of the Gentiles. You say, what? God is bringing in the nations. He’s got a period. We don’t know how long that period is. Nobody knows how long this age is going to go on. When they tell you, they’re lying, because the Bible says nobody knows. Right? But we [unclear] understand the principles about this age. Okay, so we got a lot of opponents out there that are antichrist.

What is the goal of the child stage: growing in spirit, wisdom and grace? (Luke 1:80; 2:40)

▶ Watch this part (32:48)

Short answer: He says John the Baptist as a child “waxed strong in spirit” and “here Jesus is our example. He grew,” so we have to grow too. He says most Christians “never pray for wisdom,” and that grace is not just forgiveness but “the divine enablement of God,” so church should help people grow and unbelievers believe.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 32:48 Now, here’s the goal of the children’s stage. Luke 1:80: “The child,” speaking of John the Baptist, “waxed strong in spirit.” Grew, and the next stage is the strong stage, “till he was strong in the Spirit.” And that’s what the next stage is. It’s a very important stage for us. Okay, again, Luke 2:40: “The child Jesus,” talking about Jesus, grew. Here Jesus is our example. He grew. So what do we got to do? We got to grow. Okay, He “waxed strong in spirit.” You see, we got to grow in spiritual things “and was filled with wisdom.” And the Bible says if you ask for wisdom, He’ll give it liberally, and most Christians never pray for wisdom.

▶ 33:53 They’re praying for better jobs, they’re praying for good health, they’re praying for selfish things instead of weapons that you can use, and wisdom is one of them. “And the grace of God was upon Him.” Now, is it just God’s divine favor to forgive Him of sin was upon Him? Come on. We’ve taken this grace thing and just distorted it horribly. Grace is the divine enablement of God. The divine enablement of God was upon Him, empowering Him. Yes. See, He grew in grace, He grew in wisdom, He grew in spirit, and that’s what God wants us to do. In church we have a responsibility to help people grow, and unbelievers to believe. That is our responsibility, and that’s what we should be partnering around, and everything we do should be to that end goal. Can I hear an amen?

What is a spiritual person? (1 Corinthians 14:37; Galatians 6:1; Colossians 1:9)

▶ Watch this part (34:52)

Short answer: He says a spiritual person “digs into the Word” like the people of Berea, “stubbornly stands for the truth of God’s Word,” and is “active in the truth,” not “a couch potato.” He says spiritual people are “out helping other people grow up,” restoring those who fall, and, from Colossians 1, have spiritual understanding and are joyful even when going through tough times.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 34:52 Amen. Now let me tell you what a spiritual person is. 1 Corinthians 14:37: “If any be spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.” Okay, a spiritual person is going to say, like the people of Berea, they search the Scriptures to see if these things were true. See, a spiritual person digs into the Word, and we just eliminated 90% of American Christians. They just listen to the Word on radio, listen to it on TV, they don’t dig into the Word, get on their knees and ask God to open that Word. They won’t give God one hour a day, and yet when they get in trouble they want to snap their finger and Jesus come running to deliver them out of it. Am I right? Yeah. But a spiritual person stubbornly stands for the truth of God’s Word. He don’t care if the Pope disagrees with it, he doesn’t care if Billy Graham disagrees with it, he will stand for truth.

▶ 36:08 That’s what a spiritual person does. And he is active in the truth. He’s not a couch potato when it comes to the kingdom of God. He’s involved, he’s in a partnership. Galatians 6:1: “If a man be overtaken in a fault, you which are,” what? Spiritual, “restore such a one in the spirit of meekness.” Oh, you see, spiritual people are out helping other people grow up, helping other people to come out of their sin, went back into sin, they help them come out. That’s what spiritual people do. And there are millions of Christians that call themselves spiritual and they’ve never led one person to Christ, and they’ve never helped one person be restored back to Jesus Christ and growing again, and they think they are spiritual. Is that good Scripture? How many of you know we need to be spiritual?

▶ 37:34 Colossians 1:9: “Be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.” You see, how many of you know we need spiritual understanding, not head knowledge, but spiritual understanding? Why do we need spiritual understanding? So we can “walk worthy of the Lord,” and “bring forth fruit in every good work, and increase in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all patience, longsuffering, and joyfulness.” See, that’s spiritual people. Even when they’re down, they’re happy. Even when they’re going through tough times, they’re not complainers, they’re not mourners, they are joyful. Why? Because they are spiritual. Now that was good. So, do we need to help the church grow? Yeah, because we want them to be patient with others, patient with themselves, patient with God to grow them up. Amen. And we want them to have joy that no man can take away. The Bible says the joy of the Lord is our strength, it’s a source of strength for us.

Who is the “little child” who leads in Isaiah 11, and what is the “second” visitation? (Isaiah 11; Romans 11)

▶ Watch this part (39:00)

Short answer: He says the “little child shall lead them” is not a kid in a utopia but “a level of growth of believers” leading “something that’s going to happen at the second return of Christ.” He reads Isaiah 11:11 as the Lord setting His hand again, “second time,” to recover a remnant, and says Romans 11 points to a second visitation for the Jews, brought back in “through His church.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 39:00 Hallelujah. And you don’t need a birthday party or birthday gift to have this joy. This is a spiritual joy. Isaiah 11:6: “The wolf shall lay down with the lamb, the calf and the young lion will lay down together.” How many of you know those are opponents? Lions eat calves, wolves eat lambs. Now we know a little wolf is what? A believer in sheep’s clothing. They just got on the outward form. We know what a wolf is. They’re there acting like sheep, but they are not. Ain’t that right? But this Scripture says the lamb and the wolf are going to lay down together, “and a little child shall lead them.” Now, as a young minister, I just pictured this little kid in some kind of utopia and I’m leading the people. But when enlightenment came, I understood it was a level of growth of believers that are leading something that’s going to happen at the second return of Christ.

▶ 40:17 Something is going to happen a second time. Are you there? And these believers are leading the pack. Not baby believers, these children believers are leading the way. Isn’t that exciting? Yes. “They shall not hurt nor destroy in My holy mountain.” We know from other lessons we’ve taught that the mountain of the Lord is the church, Zion. See, they shall not hurt and destroy in “My holy mountain.” Folks, we haven’t had that since Jesus ascended. They have been hurting and destroying in God’s church. They have bashed God’s church. “For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” So see, knowledge is coming, and who’s leading this knowledge? These children, these Christians that have grown past the newborn stage into understanding and obeying God’s Word, they’re leading this move of God.

▶ 41:26 “And in that day,” verse 11, “the Lord shall set His hand again,” the what? Second time, “to recover the remnant of His people.” Jesus came the first time to recover, restore, bring back the remnant. The remnant are those that what? Have the testimony of Jesus, Revelation 12, and obey His Word. That’s the remnant. So there’s a second gathering, there’s a second visitation of God coming before this rapture takes place and all this. There’s a second visitation promise, and it’s the children that have grown up to obey the Word that are leading this move of God. Isn’t that beautiful? So see, there’s something going to happen. And that’s what I keep telling these people that argue with me. Jesus’s death on the cross is too powerful for Him to come now when we got billions of people that have not heard the Word of God yet and don’t believe in God. That’s right. Okay, second time.

▶ 42:49 Romans 11:23: “If Israel abide not still in unbelief, they shall be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.” He’s talking about the olive tree, the kingdom of God. The Jews were cut off, and Paul is saying they’re going to be grafted back in again, and they can be grafted back in again. So there is a what? Second visitation coming for the Jews. These Scriptures just suddenly open up when you understand these definitions. Look, Romans 11:26, just a few verses down from it: “And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written, there shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and turn away ungodliness from Jacob.” Now, who’s Zion? We’ve learned, the church. Who’s the Deliverer? Jesus. So Jesus is going to rise in this last day church before the second coming, and He is going to bring in again the Israel, the people, the Jews. He’s going to bring them back in again, and He’s going to do it through His church.

What does 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10 say about Christ coming “in His saints”?

▶ Watch this part (44:07)

Short answer: He reads that Jesus will be revealed “taking vengeance on them that know not God,” and says there is a lake of fire and “we need to tremble at that word.” He adds that the verse says He is “coming in His saints,” as He came into the apostles at Pentecost, and that “there is a move of God coming in His church” leading to “a great harvest.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 44:07 2 Thessalonians 1:7: “When the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, that obey not the gospel, who shall be punished with everlasting destruction.” You young people, there is a second coming of Christ. He is coming to punish the wicked. There is a lake of fire. There is an eternal punishment, and we need to tremble at that word. But there’s also the message that something powerful is going to happen before that day arise. And look at this: “when He shall come to be glorified in His saints, and be admired in them that believe, in that day.” Now, we’re always talking about the God is coming for His saints, but folks, this verse says He’s coming in His saints.

▶ 45:03 Did He come in His saints the first time He came? Yes. The day of Pentecost, out of their innermost being these rivers of life-giving water flowed. You see, He came, He died on the cross, and He came in. He said the Holy Spirit is with you but shall be what? In you. So He’s coming in them. And when He came in the apostles, they were transformed from people that were weak and quarreling and denying Christ and all the rest to a group of people that nothing could move them. He came in them, and so He is coming in His people in that end time period. There is a move of God coming in His church that will cause the Jews and the Muslims and other people to recognize the truth and come in, and there will be a great harvest. Hallelujah. Now that’s exciting.

What does Jeremiah 33:7-9 promise, and what must believers do now?

▶ Watch this part (46:17)

Short answer: He reads “I will build them as at the first,” says “the church is the Israel of God,” and that God’s people are believing lies, so “it’s somebody’s job to speak up and restore and recover God’s people.” He says “if He did it at the first, He is going to do it a second time,” and “we need God, and we need to grow,” with the Holy Ghost active in the church.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 46:17 Jeremiah 33:7: “I will cause the captivity of Judah and Israel to return.” We know that Judah, in the Scriptures, the real Jew is not one outwardly, and circumcision is not in the flesh, but a real Jew, Paul said, was one inwardly, and circumcision of the spirit, and that’s the church. Amen. And Israel, Paul said, we are the Israel of God. The church is the Israel of God. “I will cause the captivity of Judah.” Is God’s people in captivity right now? Yeah. They’re believing lies, and it’s somebody’s job to speak up and restore and recover God’s people. “I will build them as at the first.” You see, He came and He started building, and the apostles did a great job, and then, as the Bible says, there was a falling away. But in these last days we started seeing the restoration when Luther came on the scene, and it’s been going on, this restoration, for quite a few, long time. Are you there?

▶ 47:27 Now listen to this. The church, Judah and Israel, this thing’s going to be built, this house that’s being built. “It will be a name of joy, praise, and honor before all nations, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them, and the nations shall fear and tremble.” Now I submit to you, has that ever happened since Jesus ascended, where the nations shook and was in fear because of what God was doing in His church? No. There’s no history of it. Did Jesus say every Scripture will be fulfilled? Yeah. So does there have to be something going to take place at this end of the age? Yes. If He did it at the first, He is going to do it a second time. And that’s what we got to be believing for, folks.

▶ 48:32 We need God, and we need to grow. “The enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.” We need the Holy Ghost active in the church and in our lives. We can’t do this on human thinking, we can’t do this in human power. And God promised that the Holy Ghost would come and empower us and give us things to edify and build the church. That’s why tongues and interpretation are important, prophecy is important, healing and miracles are important, faith, discerning of spirits, wisdom and knowledge is important, coming from the Holy Ghost. It builds, it edifies, it never draws attention to itself, it always points toward Jesus.

He reads, “Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ?” and says “the person that denies that Jesus is the Christ is antichrist,” a “very plain definition.”

Scripture (NKJV)

Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.

— 1 John 2:22 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:57

Does he say he hates people who deny Jesus is God?

No. He says “I’m not preaching hatred, I’m preaching truth” and “I don’t hate anybody. My job is to tell the truth.”

▶ Watch at 30:01

Can anyone know how long this age will last?

No. He says “nobody knows how long this age is going to go on,” and that people who say they know are lying because “the Bible says nobody knows.”

▶ Watch at 31:49

What does he say grace is?

He says “we’ve taken this grace thing and just distorted it horribly. Grace is the divine enablement of God,” which was upon Jesus, empowering Him as He grew in grace, wisdom and spirit.

▶ Watch at 33:53

What does he say it means that Christ is coming “in His saints”?

He says we are always told that He is coming for His saints, but the verse says He is coming in them. He says He came into the apostles at Pentecost and transformed them, and “so He is coming in His people in that end time period.”

Scripture (NKJV)

and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added by hand, and obvious caption errors were corrected; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: the captions read “1 John 21:18” (about 23:06) for what he means as 1 John 2:18; he reads “have you any meat?” at John 21:5 and Luke 24:41 and says the word means meat, while the NKJV reads “food” in both places; “koinonia” was written for the garbled “cornia,” and “winebibber” for the captions’ “wine bimber.” “[Unclear]” marks two spots: a first name before the comment about a predicted Antichrist (about 23:53) and one word in “we [unclear] understand the principles about this age” (about 32:35). Near 31:28 and 31:40 the captions read “mountains side” and “mountainside,” which is written as Mountainside, the church name that appears in the captions of other messages.
