In “Conference Report,” a Vine Cluster Church member, asked by Pastor David G. Kincer to be a witness, reports what he heard at a pastors’ conference: calls to preach righteousness without fear, stories of believers attacked for their convictions, and a plea for the church to unite and get involved. Pastor Kincer then closes, saying the church cannot justify silence and that America needs a message of hope, illustrated by David and Goliath and by Paul at Corinth.

What was this conference report about?

Short answer: A church member, asked by the pastor to be a witness, shares what he heard at a pastors’ conference. He says he left very encouraged and also heavy-hearted for what is going on in the country, and that the speakers encouraged the church that America does not belong to Satan, because Jesus said all authority has been given to him.

▶ 0:00 But I want to share with you what I. Received from the conference Mr. Kincer has asked me to share with the church to be a witness and share what God is doing what God is saying in this group and I left very encouraged. And also very on my heart just heavy for what’s going on right now in our country. And I just want to share what I experienced what. I heard. There were a lot of good pastors that spoke. They gave excellent messages encouraging the church that the kingdom does not. America does not belong to Satan. The kingdom it says in Matthew at the end when he says go out and teach make disciples of all nations he says all authority.

▶ 0:59 All authority has been given unto me Jesus Christ all authority. And I thought that was another great scripture about Jesus Christ having authority. Having authority over all the nations so. I just want to share real quick I’m sorry it’s not going to be quick. Uh. So I’m coming to bring news to be a witness and share with you guys what what they shared with us so it was a Watchman on the Wall group in. Uh it’s a part of Family Research Council and uh. Our the first speaker when I showed up I was late because I couldn’t get a flight any earlier I had to you know I got there a little late so I drove in sat down and there was already a speaker in progress and his name was David Welch and I’m just going to go through the speakers and what God was saying through these speakers and what God was saying to me during this time and at the end what God was speaking to me during the whole event and the attitude and this is very it’s very interesting I.

What was it like to be at the conference in person?

▶ Watch this part (2:14)

Short answer: He says that getting emails about people being attacked feels distant, but there he felt very close to the attacks and to well-known people willing to speak to a group of fewer than a hundred. He says their hearts were begging pastors to wake up, stand and unite, and that everyone who believes in Christ and believes in freedom was welcomed.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 2:14 As part of the church. Part of America you sign up for these emails and you get this information about people that are being attacked and you feel very distant but when I was there. They were right there they were experiencing it I felt very close to the attacks. I felt very close to the people who were willing to come to a group of less than a hundred people. Very famous people willing to come to a small group and say pastors it’s time it’s time we wake up and stand. And these guys their hearts were just begging begging anyone we need to unite. There was they had worship several a couple times and there was a lady in there who was very flamboyant very loud very charismatic you know I consider myself to be charismatic but I wasn’t doing what she was doing I was raising my hands praising God kneeling and all that stuff but she was more than I was but you know they never came to her threw her out never suppressed her never corrected her uh.

▶ 3:28 I know that they invite Catholics into their group and I’m just sharing the whole atmosphere it was a very you know come we want everyone everyone that believes in Christ believes in freedom and it was very powerful very powerful experience and I hope I can translate that to you this morning. Anyway he’s in charge of the Houston’s pastors council they have a council in Houston where they get all the pastors together and unite on certain issues and he was sharing how. We need to basically they’re very direct and you know when you go to Texas it’s like a breath of fresh air you know it’s Midwest people they’re very nice they believe in good things good values it’s like I came to church you know it’s like being with you guys every Sunday.

Should pastors be afraid to preach the truth?

▶ Watch this part (4:26)

Short answer: He says he heard over and over that pastors cannot be afraid of the numbers or of being attacked, and must preach truth and stand for what is right. He connects Matthew 28:18 with Daniel 4, where Nebuchadnezzar says God has authority over every kingdom, and reports the message that we have handed judgment over to wicked people.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 4:26 You know when I go to work it’s a lot different when I go places it’s a lot different when I come to church I’ve got good people to be around it it’s wonderful and in Texas it’s a lot different anyway he was sharing and explaining that we need to preach to the church and I heard this over and over that we need to not be afraid of the numbers we need to start preaching truth and these are people big pastors are saying this. They’re saying you guys you can’t be afraid. To preach the truth you can’t be afraid to stand up for what’s right because of fear that some people are going to leave because of fear that you’re going to be attacked. It was very good very good. He brought up Matthew 28 verse 18 and he said all authority which says all authority has been given unto me and he sent out his disciples he said go and make disciples of all nations all authority.

▶ 5:26 We learned through the story of Nebuchadnezzar that [unclear] chapter 4 of what book is that what is it Daniel that’s right chapter 4 of Daniel Nebuchadnezzar writes to the world and says God has authority over every kingdom over everything. And it hasn’t changed and this scripture confirms that. It’s very powerful. And in Romans 13 of course that’s the that’s the chapter that talks about how to submit unto authority and he was saying how we handed over our authority we’ve handed over judgment to the I have the enemy down here we’ve handed judgment over to wicked people and that was the gist of his message. And then you have Pastor Willie Davis of [unclear] Community Church and uh he’s a pastor of a big church there and he was uniting with Pastor Steve [unclear], Steve [unclear] is the pastor of the church that hosted the event and they unite on issues like abortion they would go and take their people to Austin Texas the state capitol.

What does Amos 5:21-24 say about justice and righteousness?

▶ Watch this part (6:44)

Short answer: He reads Amos 5:21-24, where God says he hates their feast days, and links it to “better to obey than sacrifice” from the story of Saul. He says verse 24, “let justice run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream,” touched him, because we have a trickle and need a flood of righteousness, and churches are not even preaching sin.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 6:44 And they would flood the capitol building with their church community members to stand for issues. Very powerful to hear very excellent I thought that was very tremendous. And he brought out Amos 5 21-24. And if you guys have your bibles let’s turn there it’s a very short scripture. And it starts in 21 says. And this is Amos or the word of the Lord talking to the Israelites. Saying I hate and I despise your feast days I do not savor your sacred assemblies though you offer me burnt offerings your grain offerings I will not accept them nor will I regard your fat and peace offerings basically this is right in line with the scripture that talks about it is better to obey.

▶ 7:40 Than sacrifice and I know we know about that scripture how Saul he went and he wanted to present the sacrifice. Before Samuel came and he didn’t follow the right order. And Samuel God was telling him it’s better to obey. Than to sacrifice I don’t care about your sat you know your feast days and all that if you are not turning obeying and listening to my voice. And the powerful part you know and God touched me is when he brought out the 24th verse he said but let justice run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream here you have these big [unclear] pastors are talking about righteousness they’re talking and telling the pastors you guys need to talk about righteousness you guys need to preach morality we need to bring back righteousness in our community.

▶ 8:43 And I thought gosh where am I am I at Mountainside am I listening to Mr. Kincer right now. This is just powerful. And maybe they interpret righteousness differently but we know where righteousness is it’s right living living the right way. Amen. And uh you know I don’t know if he knew the scripture he brought out here but it was so powerful let justice run down like water. And righteousness like a mighty stream and that’s exactly what we need right now we’ve got a trickle we need a flood we need a flood of righteousness. He was saying how churches are not even preaching sin again I was like where am I. We cannot be ashamed.

Why does he say pastors’ sermons were subpoenaed?

▶ Watch this part (9:37)

Short answer: He reports that the speakers said the mayor of Houston subpoenaed pastors’ sermons and notes to see whether they had spoken against homosexuality and same-sex marriage, and the pastors refused. He says people now fear losing their jobs for speaking out, and he shares a report that a 20-week abortion law the church lobbied for meant one baby was not aborted.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 9:37 They say it’s peace and justice to remove God. And as you know this is all in. They’re getting together because the mayor of Houston Texas has subpoenaed Steve [unclear] and other pastors in the area and required their messages and their sermons to get. Their notes and see if they have a you know spoken against homosexuality same-sex marriage and uh these guys are saying no we’re not gonna give you our messages I would give you them for free if I knew you’d listen but since you’re demanding me and I’m a Texan. I was talking to Blake he said don’t mess with Texas don’t mess with Texas. And. Finally we have people that are standing up it’s very good.

▶ 10:36 But it’s true they say that it’s peace to remove God they say that it’s justice. For. Homosexuality for that to be promoted to be approved. You know they’re saying that that is right they’re saying that that is justice. They don’t want God’s word heard. And that’s what he brought out. And then we have Mr. [unclear]. And he was pastor he’s the pastor of Grace Community Church a church of ten thousand. Anyway that kind of sums up his I’m sorry that kind of gives you. His attitude and when you’re there. And you’re in you’re with these people it’s a lot different you know I get these emails and it’s like oh this guy is getting attacked oh they’re gonna attack you know God’s in control God God what are you gonna do God please do something well it’s a lot different when you’re there and these men are being attacked their families are being attacked you know.

▶ 11:47 I don’t I don’t know why they’re being subpoenaed they might be trying to get rid of this guy you know what he’s supposed to do what is he supposed to do he’s part of a church. We don’t want to be shut down they’re shutting down businesses because they won’t serve same sex marriage couples I mean that’s putting fear into people you know what if I speak out against it and my company hears about it and they fire me that’s my livelihood. That’s how I support my family. And that’s what it’s turning into anybody who speaks publicly out speaks out publicly about something is in danger of being fired from their job and this is gonna this is it seems like this is gonna be affecting us at home. Not just not just on the airwaves. Gosh.

▶ 12:45 And like I said earlier I have these notes down here that. I want to share a story real quick he had his church members go to the state capitol and lobby and fight for the abortion law changing it from 24 weeks to 20 weeks you know they’re just trying to get something better than before you know they’re trying to fight for to make some headway and they did they made it because they were there and they fought for it and he had a member of his congregation that had that adopted a child and she called him and said you won’t believe what happened. The girl that had this baby went to get an abortion but could not because of the 20-week law. And she was just thanking him so much and I mean it’s powerful.

Are people losing jobs for their beliefs about marriage?

▶ Watch this part (13:37)

Short answer: He shares reports from speakers who said they lost a commentator job or a television show over their stance on natural marriage, and says “I’m just a witness here.” He says the brothers had to decide whether to cave in and be moderate or stand for what is right, and that every speaker had articles written attacking them.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 13:37 And here you have this life that would have been killed. And then of course we had Craig James and the Benham brothers Craig James ran for senator and uh. During his senate race he said that he believes in natural marriage and he does not believe in same-sex marriage and uh you know years later he was he was asked by Fox Sports sports to come and be a commentator. And uh they found out about his stance and they said see you later right Mr. Thompson yes they kicked him out and so he was there and again we have someone else who’s being kicked out and I’m just sharing what they’re bringing up okay I’m just a witness here these are not my opinions these are actual things that are happening to people and of course you got the Benham brothers I don’t know if you guys heard about them but they were.

▶ 14:35 Starting a show with HDTV. About I’m not sure real estate or properties I’m not sure but because of their stance their show was canceled because they were being pressured by homosexual activists to shut the show up now what you don’t hear a lot is that these guys had a moment. Where they. We’re deciding what side to be on. These guys were deciding the the brothers were deciding you know here we are trying to spread the good news through this good show about our good families you know raising up good kids and be an example light that way but maybe God has something different in mind so these guys had to decide are we going to cave in and say it’s okay say you know that’s all right you know and just be moderate or are we gonna stand for what’s right so they got with Mr. Perkins the Family Research Council and they.

▶ 15:37 They found out what to say and they they stood they said you know we had to be like David we had I can’t remember their analogy it was good it was good these guys their father is a preacher their father is a pastor and he speaks out on a lot of issues and their father called them up and said what are you guys doing. Talking like that you love this you love that come on you gotta you gotta stand up for what’s right. And so they had to come to a decision. So it was very encouraging and these guys were willing to talk to a group of less than a hundred fifty people at times it was very small. I I mean all these speakers were very good.

What did the conference say about separation of church and state?

▶ Watch this part (16:29)

Short answer: He reports a speaker who answered pastors’ excuses, such as “it’s a political issue,” by saying the gospel is to change. He says separation of church and state came from people persecuted by a state church, so the state would not intervene with the church, and quotes “let’s not be politically correct but biblically correct.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 16:29 First class I was looking up each one as they came up I was looking up their names online and all of them have articles written about them just attacking them. They’re on the front lines. And then uh the best speaker of that night was Mr. Raphael Cruz. And he is the father of Ted Cruz he’s the senator of Texas. And. He basically. Brought a message out. Saying that basically I thought I was here at church again you know he brought out secular humanism second and bringing up the history and showing us I was like who am I listening to here. It sounds very familiar. And he was calling out the pastor’s excuses what kind of excuses do we have and he said these are the excuses I get God just called me to share the gospel and he said what is the gospel.

▶ 17:35 And he went and showed through the you know he showed us the gospel is to change. That’s what the gospel is about. He gets other uh excuses it’s a political issue. And he just made it so plain I have a recording on my little phone that I made and it’s hard to hear it uh it’s very low but if you have a way to bump it up it was a very good very good message. And he brought up separation of church and state and as we know we’ve learned in this church we know what that is all about and he plainly brought it out you’re sitting there and you’re saying wow you know the he just said plainly they came from a place where they were being persecuted where the the church of England was telling them what to do and they didn’t want that same thing here in America and when he brought it out that way you just say yeah of course.

▶ 18:34 He said separation of church and state because you don’t want the state intervening with the church. One of his statements was let’s not be politically correct but biblically correct. And he brought out Mr. Charles Wesley that says. If there’s a problem if righteousness is. Going down if there’s a moral there’s a moral decline in America the pulpit is responsible just a call to the pastors to to buck up. Wake up we can’t be teaching what we’re teaching right now it can’t be about that anymore we’ve got to stand. And uh I just you know it hit me.

What did the handouts teach about marriage and the family?

▶ Watch this part (19:29)

Short answer: He says being asked to share made him check what was true rather than give his opinion. He shows free pamphlets on the Bible’s teaching on marriage and the family, harms of same-sex marriage, and who should decide how children are educated, and says they echo what the church has heard.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 19:29 And then of course we have Mr. Perkins and he is the president of the Family Research Council. And uh I just want to share let me see here. No okay. I I. You know when Mr. Kincer asked me to come and share about this group all of a sudden it hits you okay I have to make sure that I’m sharing truth. I can’t just give you my opinion you know and I start to understand Mr. Kincer’s you go away from these things and it’s like well I’ve got to prove things I got to know what’s right I can’t just take what they’re telling me and so I had to look a lot of these guys up and I looked up Mr. Perkins and he was interviewed on Chris Matthews’s show and and was talking with Barney Frank and and he did not back down he said no he it was very good you guys need to look up some of his interviews.

▶ 20:32 The problem is they won’t let him talk he doesn’t get to say much but I want to show. Mr. Kincer is not the only one that has pamphlets on these things. So here’s this one’s called the Bible’s teaching on marriage and the family and basically it talks about the Bible and why homosexual same-sex marriage is wrong homosexuality is wrong there you go debating homosexuality. And let me let me remind you he’s a lot more he’s very diplomatic. All right. You know our pamphlets are not diplomatic. He’s very diplomatic and I’m going to ask Mr. Kincer to read some of these to see if he’s just too diplomatic and then this one is very good it’s the top 10 harms. Of same-sex marriage he’s willing to say that it’s harmful he’s willing to say these are harmful things that come from that lifestyle and he’s saying you know we you guys we can’t just just believe this idea that people are born that way there’s no scientific evidence there’s no scientific this and that stuff we’ve heard here all all day all night there you go.

▶ 21:51 Who should ch who should decide how children are educated and again I thought I was listening to Mr. Kincer about Horace Mann John Dewey it’s all in here. Saying that there’s no competition that’s what it says in here who wrote this Tony Perkins not Mr. Kincer. It was good this one I didn’t read sorry I can’t tell anything about that. But this is what they believe. It’s powerful. And I gotta come and I gotta share you know you learn a lot by what they write what they’re trying to put out and they’re actually trying to stand against these things they’re actually trying to be a voice it’s very good. Now there is an urgency in this meeting these people were basically begging us begging pastors begging church people.

Why does he say Christians need to get involved?

▶ Watch this part (22:54)

Short answer: He says the speakers were begging pastors and church people to get involved, and he was convicted because he was not helping. He notes they asked for no money, and says a large church pastor nearby with a message titled “we must obey God rather than men” shows “we’re not alone” and we must unite.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 22:54 Begging us we need to get involved. We need. You know here you have all these famous people Tony Perkins he goes to Washington DC and he will lobby he will he will talk he will bring a case before the United States capital. And you know for me I’m convicted because I have you know I’m not helping anybody do that I’m not getting involved. And I just got to think to myself what am I doing. Now all of these things that they handed out were free they didn’t charge me for anything they didn’t ask for money at all. The food was free I I want to send them money just for the food at least. But they didn’t ask for money and I thought that was very commendable they didn’t ask you know for your 25 or buy this book no they didn’t ask that I said can I have some of these pamphlets they said take all you want.

▶ 24:00 Now I want to bring up this guy I missed his message but the title of his message on the paper was we must obey God rather than men and this is important because Jack [unclear] is a pastor of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills and this is in southern California as you know and this is important because he’s a pastor I’m sorry he’s got the church there is about ten thousand people. So church. If you’ve had this idea. In your heart that no nobody’s willing to stand nobody is willing you know no big pastor’s willing to stand there’s people that are doing it and we’re not alone. Uh we just got to unite we’ve just got to come together.

▶ 24:54 She he had commission or he has employed somebody not imply I’m not sure if he employed but he has someone that fights. On a regular basis a department a you know. Someone dedicated to fighting against prop- or fighting for Prop 8, fighting against SB 48 or what is it SB what what is it do we know the one where they’re teaching in the schools that homosexuality history and all that that was approved whatever anyway he’s fighting against that. And he’s very political from what I hear. So we have here a pastor in our very close by that is standing for these things. And I’m just sharing that with you I didn’t hear his message but you can tell by the title we must obey God rather than men that he’s hitting home.

What testimony did the fired fire chief share?

▶ Watch this part (25:50)

Short answer: He retells a speaker’s testimony of growing up poor, wanting to be a husband and father, living by Bible standards and rising to a top fire administration post, then being fired after 34 years over a book that called same-sex marriage a sin. He calls it bullying that takes away freedom of speech.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 25:50 And one of the another great speaker. I’m a three quarter of the way three quarters away done I’m I want to be admitted a witness we’re talking about two days here okay I am summarizing it down in about you know 20 minutes 10 30 minutes. And uh here we have Kelvin Cochran. And if you were to hear this guy’s testimony you would cry. His testimony was that he he grew up and you have to hear him say it he says we we grew up poor with my mother and my father and when my father left my mother we weren’t just poor we were pole we couldn’t afford the we couldn’t afford the o and the r anymore. We would have mayonnaise sandwiches my mom can only afford to buy mayonnaise and bread and syrup.

▶ 26:46 And I’m like how do you live on that they would have mayonnaise sandwiches anyway you got to hear this guy’s mess this testimony. And. He would go to church they were part of a church and he would see the nice the nice mom and dads and their fancy cars their shiny cars get out and he said. He would say the the church people would ask him what do you want to be when you grow up and he would say I want to be a husband I want to be a father because that was to him a goal to reach to because he didn’t have a dad he didn’t and he said I don’t want to be poor. And so they gave him some standards from the Bible to live by and he says I’ve been living by these standards for a long time and it I was.

▶ 27:39 I became the first black man to be in the fire department. And he was promoted very quickly and he was appointed by president Obama to have the highest fire administration position in America. All right the highest position Kelvin Cochran. But he had written a book in 1992. Where he says he does not agree he does not agree with same-sex marriage he calls it a sin he calls it wrong. And I’m going to read you a quote. And this is his quote I was fired for having the audacity to believe that sex was created for procreation and should be in the bonds of holy matrimony between a man and a woman.

▶ 28:32 And after 34 years of faithful service to the community he was fired from his job and I don’t know if he’s. Been reinstated at Atlanta or I’m not sure but he was released fired from his job and see that puts fear that’s such that’s such bullying. You’re not allowed to have an opinion you’re not allowed your freedom of speech. And they said that he was distributing books and of course they want to twist that. You know it’s not like he was going around his communist workplace and say you need to read this book no he wasn’t doing that. But somebody was offended. By his book and he was fired. And. When you’re there.

What if these attacks are not happening to me?

▶ Watch this part (29:27)

Short answer: He reports the warning that by the time it hits you, you won’t be able to get involved, and says that convicted him because it was exactly his attitude. He tells of a former candidate who stayed away from hard issues until he heard a man preach, and says the message was “we’ve got to stand, we’ve got to unite.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 29:27 When you’re there it’s a lot different. You know. This man my brother. Is being attacked. And then we have Rick Scarborough. And basically what he brought out was. Reminding us that reminding me he’s saying since these things aren’t happening to you guys you know you hear the story of this you hear the story of that and it’s not happening to you so you don’t get involved. But when it hits by the time it hits you you won’t be able to get involved. And because it’s not happening to me it’s okay and that convicted me because that’s exactly my attitude it wasn’t happening to me so I’m just gonna live on my merry way.

▶ 30:30 And at the end Mr. Rick Santorum was there and like I said this is a group of 50. Less than 100 and it would dwindle and you know small group and this man came. He ran for president I don’t know if you guys know that but willing to speak and he shared some very powerful things about his testimony. In the middle of his career he. Changed. At the beginning he said I knew what issues to stay away from I knew to stay away from same-sex marriage I knew you know it’s not hard to see danger stay away from that you know he was he was completely moderate but then he said I went to a church service heard a man preach.

▶ 31:22 And the truth hit me. And he changed. And basically what he’s doing what he’s saying is. I’m begging you people. We’ve got to stand. We’ve got to unite. He said America needs you. And I’m just trying to be a witness this morning what what happened what they were saying the gist of their messages. And uh I want to share something real quickly from their website the Family Research Council their website. And uh just to give you an understanding says tony has a tremendous burden to reclaim the culture of for Christ and believes that this revival will begin in the churches across America and reach across denominations.

Who are my brothers and sisters, according to Jesus?

▶ Watch this part (32:26)

Short answer: He reads Matthew 12:48-50, “whoever does the will of my father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother,” and says God told him those people are his brothers and sisters. From First Corinthians 12:26 he says if one member suffers, all suffer, and he feels responsible because they are fighting alone.

▶ 32:26 Racial and economic lines and build on shared values of family and freedom now to me that sounds very familiar. We have been hearing that we need to unite. With other churches no matter their denomination. People that are for morality Bible morality. And unite for the cause. Now if you have your bibles I’d ask you to turn to Matthew [unclear] 12:48. It says in the scriptures here but he answered and said to the one who told him who is my mother and who are my brothers. And he stretched out his hand toward his disciples and said here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.

▶ 33:21 And God just put that on my heart. And he said Mike you know those people are your brothers. They’re your sisters. Do you care about what’s happening to them. You know in a brotherhood and in a family if somewhere to mess with Christina and Stephanie and Joe. I would be going to their aid. And these guys are standing for right principles. And they’re just it seems like they don’t have the support they need from the church. And I was convicted in my heart just saying church. Here these men are brothers and they’ve got to fight it all by themselves.

▶ 34:21 And I feel responsible. As they are my brothers. First Corinthians chapter 12 verse 26. Says if one member suffers all the members suffer with it if one member is honored all the members rejoice with it. Mr. Cruz he brought out the scripture that when the righteous are in authority the people rejoice. And it was powerful you know we need to get involved you know there was no question about getting involved or the Satan has authority in in in political areas we shouldn’t be involved no that that was out of the out of the question. Now are you now you are the body of Christ and members individually.

Why does Jesus’ prayer for unity in John 17 matter?

▶ Watch this part (35:16)

Short answer: He reads John 17:11 and 17:21-23, “that they all may be one,” and says God told him we need to be united in the spirit, not just the letter. Then the pastor says he is glad the member could experience other people saying what the church has been saying for 30 years.

▶ 35:16 And John 17 this is really what God was speaking to me. Later I got the other verses regarding your brother because it’s true they are our brothers. In John 17 verse we’ll start with eleven turn with me to John 17 verse 11. Now I am no longer in the world but these are in the world and have come to you I’ve come to you. Holy father keep through your name those whom you have given me that they may be one as we are. And I’ve been taught as a young person that the unity is so important to unite with other churches unite with other denominations.

▶ 36:18 But it’s really hitting me. We’ve got to unite. And. They had a a form to fill out where you write down and you commit and you say I’m gonna unite or not unite I’m gonna do these three things. And God hit me he said. Michael we need to be united in the spirit. The same spirit needs to burn in every person’s heart in every church. Not just the letter not just verbally the spirit has to be united. And I’m trying to translate the effect. That this event had. How important it is.

▶ 37:11 John 17 verse 21. That they all may be one as you father are in me and I in you and they also may be one in us that the world may believe that you sent me. I in them and you and me that you that they may be made perfect. In one. Perfect complete. Okay. I’m glad Michael can go back there and experience this for. I’ve listened to most of those messages. From the conference it’s nothing new for me. But I’m glad Mike got to experience these other people saying what we’ve been saying for 30 years all right.

Should Christians stay silent because it is the end time?

▶ Watch this part (38:06)

Short answer: The pastor says no matter how small we are, we cannot justify being silent and not getting involved with what is going on in America. He says these things are supposed to happen, but that does not mean we stop preaching the gospel and sit on the sideline, and that America needs a message of hope, not despair.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 38:06 Now. We do and I am looking forward that’s why I’m sitting back I’m looking for a grassroots organization. That we can unite with that is throughout America. It saves a lot of time when you don’t have to start your own from scratch. And I’ve been following this group and some other groups for quite some time. But anyway just let me admonish. That no matter how small we are. We cannot justify. Being silent and not getting involved with what’s going on in America. Let me just share a couple of scriptures with you real quick David.

▶ 38:58 All right these people are always saying we’re at the end time oh you know Jesus is coming any minute and uh all this trouble and all this plagues and everything you can be seated if you’d like. You know these things are supposed to happen and all this and that’s true I say you’re right they’re supposed to happen. But that doesn’t mean we stop preaching the gospel and living right and taken a seat on the sideline and watching the destruction of the world when way can have an effect. And God spoke to me in the year in this thing that America needs to hear a message of hope. Not a message of despair and destruction and it’s the end they need a message of hope illustration number one David was an adolescent young man.

What does David and Goliath teach about hope?

▶ Watch this part (39:55)

Short answer: He says Goliath was the propaganda voice for the Philistines and Israel’s army hid, until a teenager, David, asked who he thought he was to speak against God. He says David cut off the head, the army rose up and drove the Philistines out, and “one person brought unity because one person brought hope.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 39:55 The Philistine army had come. To oppose Israel and invade Israel and destroy Israel. And a big giant named Goliath nine and a half foot tall came out every day and defied that army and to find God’s people and he was the propaganda voice for the Philistines. And when he started speaking as I said before the Israel marines hid behind the rocks. The Israel army went home. And the militias left scared to death their knees knocking they won’t do anything. They didn’t run home they didn’t hide behind the rock it they aren’t doing anything and little David comes up an adolescent young man a teenager.

▶ 40:49 He heard this guy and said who is he think he is. Speaking against God and God’s people. And as you know the story David went out and cut the head off that’s important. You cut the head off you destroy the whole organization right you get to the leaders and the rest of the organization crumbles. Understand we got to go right to the heads of these these opposing groups. We’ve got to go right after them you understand that. If we stop the leaders we stop the movement. When David. Felled that giant [unclear] the militia. They rose up started fighting the marines got out from behind the rocks and they started fighting in the army heard about it on the other side of the Jordan and back home where they went and they came back and they drove those Philistines out of the country.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Samuel 17:45-51 (NKJV)

Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.” So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.

Why did God tell Paul not to be afraid in Corinth?

▶ Watch this part (41:57)

Short answer: He says the Jews in Corinth opposed and abused Paul, but Jesus told him not to be afraid and to preach, because he had many people in that city, so Paul preached there a year and a half. He says God is telling this church there are many in Elsinore and in California on his side who need a message of hope.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · A Vine Cluster Church member (guest speaker), with closing words by Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 41:57 See one person brought unity because one person brought hope. And an adolescent. Saul second illustration. He went to Corinth. He preached Christ crucified he was the messiah the anointed one to come the Jews didn’t like it. Corinth was a merchant city and the Jews [unclear] and it’s Bible we’re supposed to you know there’s nothing wrong with that and so they’re there but they didn’t want Paul coming in and saying the messiah has come because they were teaching he hadn’t come he’s still going to come and the Jews are still saying it today. And so not only didn’t they like the message and not respond to the message but they opposed Paul and abused Paul.

▶ 42:56 And God Jesus came to Paul. And said Paul. Don’t you be afraid of these people. He said you preach my gospel I have many in this city. And Paul. Dropped away his fear. Preached the gospel. For a year and a half at Corinth. Until God moved him on and that’s the message God is saying to this church there are many people in Elsinore. That are on my side but they need a message of hope they need instruction they need someone tell them this is the way walking in it they need someone united there’s many people in California as bad as California is and leading the nation in wickedness.

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: Most of this recording (to about 37:30) is a church member’s report on a conference; Pastor Kincer speaks from about 37:30 to the end. Names of people mentioned are spelled as heard; where a name was not clear in the captions it is marked [unclear]. At 32:40 the reference is given as “Matthew [unclear] 12:48”; the passage read is Matthew 12:48-50. Some passages are quoted without a reference (e.g. Proverbs 29:2, Acts 5:29, Acts 18:9-11); references are added for the reader. At 18:34 a quote about the pulpit being responsible for moral decline is attributed to Charles Wesley as spoken; this attribution has not been checked.
