Clapping Hands and Shouting: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Pastor David G. Kincer teaches from Psalm 47 that we are to clap and shout to God, who places the nations beneath his people—not by force but through feet shod with the gospel of peace and through obedience to his voice. Love is the more excellent way, and believers grow into the divine nature. God avenges and delivers the righteous, as in a deliverance he witnessed, and all who call on Jesus are saved.
What does Psalm 47 command?
Short answer: Psalm 47:1–3: clap your hands, all you peoples; shout to God with the voice of triumph, for the Lord Most High is awesome, a great King over all the earth; he will subdue the peoples under us.
▶ 0:00 we’re going to go to Psalm 47 verse 1 clap your hands all you peoples shout to God with the voice of triumph that tells us what we are to do okay this tells us why read with me for the Lord most high is awesome he is a great king over all the earth is he worthy of our praise absolutely then. He tells us the results okay read with me he will subdue the peoples under us and nations under our feet now this verse really had me puzzled for quite a few years because I had looked up the word subdue many times before in other passages and it meant to conquer all right to destroy and the nature of God that I had met.
Scripture in this part
Psalm 47:1-3 (NKJV)
Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! For the LORD Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth. He will subdue the peoples under us, And the nations under our feet.
— Psalm 47:1-3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:00Does God conquer people by force through his church?
Short answer: No. He contrasts the Nazis, Rome, Islam, atheistic communist governments—who rule by force—with the God he met. He says the word rendered subdue here can mean speak.
▶ 1:06 Doesn’t conquer the people under us his church beneath us and the nation’s under our feet otherwise we’d be like the Nazi government that didn’t tolerate anybody disagree with them and just kill them and put them in prison or whatever otherwise we’d be like the Roman Empire that forced their will on people otherwise with force with actual physical force we’d be like the Muslims who brag about conquering the world by force and if you don’t convert to Islam off with your head and Americans are so foolish [unclear]. The political group that’s promoting this isn’t foolish they’re trying to destroy America but Americans that believe this nonsense about Muslims they’re being very foolish [unclear] these people want to conquer by force and so do the atheists.
Why does it mention feet?
Short answer: Ephesians 6:15: feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Most believers don’t prepare by reading the word daily.
▶ 2:07 The Chinese government the Russian government Cuba and other communist nation by force. They rule over their people they hate christianity they hate any kind of religion and they hate anyone that disagrees with them and they will kill them in prison them beat them and abuse them are you with me and so it didn’t fit because the God that I met isn’t like that so one day I looked up subdue in this verse and it is used hundreds of times in the Bible as speak not subdue it’s only changed one time and that’s this verse used for subdued one time now let’s change it he will speak to the peoples under us and the nation’s beneath our feet doesn’t that sound a lot different okay what why does he emphasized feet here well in Ephesians 6:15 having your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace this is the armor of God God’s people have what their feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
▶ 3:30 So what’s being spoken to gospel of peace but what has to take place. Preparation and most of God’s people do not read the word every day they do not study it they go to Bible studies and they let the Bible study go right through their ears. Am I right yeah they can’t remember one hour later what went on and that message. All right preparation folks we got to prepare yourself is that an amen surely we can find some time for God.
Scripture in this part
Ephesians 6:15 (NKJV)
and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
— Ephesians 6:15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:16How do people come to believe?
Short answer: Romans 10:13–15 (Isaiah 52:7): how shall they hear without a preacher, and how shall they preach unless they are sent? How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, glad tidings of good things.
▶ 4:18 in Isaiah 52:7 quoted in Romans 10:15 this is the same as scripture faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God but it comes by hearing anything you hear so whether it’s the word of God or was not the word of God your persuasion is going to be what you continually here all right and then he says as many has called upon him shall be saved but how are they going to believe how are they going to call upon him and how are they going to be saved if they do not hear and how they going to hear except there is a speaker a preacher and how is there going to be a speaker if they are not what sent. And the difference is the preparation he can’t send you if you’re not prepared.
Scripture in this part
Romans 10:13-15 (NKJV)
For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
— Romans 10:13-15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:18Isaiah 52:7 (NKJV)
How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
— Isaiah 52:7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:18What are the glad tidings?
Short answer: Jesus had compassion on the widow with the dead son without asking about her faith, and on the woman caught in adultery—then said go and sin no more. God can not only forgive you but change you.
▶ 5:20 You got to spend time in this thing you got to get the nitty-gritty things down now. He goes on to say as it is written [unclear] how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the feet. We have our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace do we. Are we prepared. And then he explains what this gospel is the gospel of peace preach the gospel of peace and bring what glad tidings of good things that’s what the prophecies were about this morning the woman with the dead boy the God of mercy came to her he didn’t ask her how much faith she had he didn’t ask her if she [unclear] believed in him he didn’t ask if she’s a Jew.
Scripture in this part
Luke 7:13 (NKJV)
When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”
— Luke 7:13 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:20 (quoted; reference not named in the message)John 8:11 (NKJV)
She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
— John 8:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:20 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How are the nations placed beneath us?
Short answer: Deuteronomy 28:1: if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord, he will set you high above all nations. Hear what the Spirit says to the churches; worship teams and preachers must prepare for the Spirit to move.
▶ 6:21 He and after anything why he had compassion on that woman and the woman caught in adultery he had compassion and he delivered that woman out of his compassion then he told her go and sin no more then he gave her the salvation scriptures and you know then he ministered to her are you listening alleluia. Good things and that’s the good thing I don’t care how bad you are the good thing is God can change it not just forgive you change you and [unclear]. How do people get beneath our feet. Good question. If you diligently obey the voice of the Lord not your church doctrines of faith necessarily not the latest book in the Christian bookstore but the what voice of the Lord what does it say seven times in the first few chapters of Revelation he that hath an ear let him hear what the spirit what the spirit is saying to the church not what [unclear] is saying.
▶ 7:36 Not Dr. Phil the psychologists are you there what is the spirit saying and see this is what a good worship team has to do they have to expect and they have to prepare for the spirit to move because the people need to hear what the spirit is saying not what they learn through the week in some book or you know in the Bible reading time what is the spirit saying to that congregation at that time. Now that was good. And this is what a preacher has to do and a speaker and a prophecy a prophecy to come and has to be by the spirit giving utterance I told you last Sunday I haven’t prophesied in months why the spirit wasn’t saying anything and why wouldn’t you say anything we weren’t hungry for anything.
▶ 8:29 And we weren’t preparing ourselves. Hallelujah. [unclear] I needed that. Amen we’re supposed to come into his gates with what thanksgiving in our heart into his courts with praise were to be thankful unto him and bless his name and we come in oh man [unclear] if you diligently observe carefully all his commandments these are the qualifications. The qualifications and who will set you high above all nations the Lord who will subdue or speak to the people under you the Lord folks we need the Lord in this I don’t care how good your voice is it isn’t sufficient enough to minister to my spiritual need I don’t care how you can articulate and I.
Scripture in this part
Deuteronomy 28:1 (NKJV)
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
— Deuteronomy 28:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:09 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Revelation 2:7 (NKJV)
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” ’
— Revelation 2:7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:27 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Do Christians conquer others?
Short answer: No—God separates his people by righteousness; we share the gospel of peace. Christians take arms to defend nation and family, not to convert. Deuteronomy 28:13: the head and not the tail. Proverbs 14:19: the evil bow before the good.
▶ 9:31 Have the proper homiletics to speak a word if the spirit doesn’t back it up and prick my heart it’s just a word. We need him could that be true we need him involved in what he told us to do I can lift my hands all day but until he honors it with his presence it is just a sacrifice I can only handle so much sacrifice I need the real deal [unclear] amen. He will set you high above all nation so we’re not subdue anybody he is separating his people by righteousness obeying his word from those that don’t obey his word and those beneath us we are to share what the gospel of peace the glad tidings the good things amen we’re not to annihilate them that’s why Christians don’t take arms to convert people to Christ we take arms to defend our nation and our families yes but not to promote the gospel of Christ amen and this makes us way above the Muslims.
▶ 10:55 he’s going to make you the head not the tail the leader not the follower. Above only not beneath. All nations not only ask you this question has that been fulfilled. Now we didn’t even know there was other nations till the 15th 16th century [unclear]. So is God got something planned for that last day generation absolutely. Every prophecy every scripture has to be fulfilled and we have not seen all nations under the leadership of the glorious church. Because we haven’t been too glorious. Proverbs 14:19 the evil bow before the good and and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
Scripture in this part
Deuteronomy 28:13 (NKJV)
And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.
— Deuteronomy 28:13 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:57 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Proverbs 14:19 (NKJV)
The evil will bow before the good, And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
— Proverbs 14:19 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:55What is the more excellent way?
Short answer: 1 Corinthians 12:31–13: love. Gifts, prophecy and knowledge without love are worthless; it’s God who raises us up.
▶ 11:55 when God builds his glorious church without spot or wrinkle or any such thing when he builds his church that the gates of hell cannot prevail against it’s going to be the difference between righteousness and unrighteousness and when the righteous are in leadership the wicked are going to be under them. Hallelujah. Now first Corinthians 12:31 how do we get there Paul says it’s great to have a desire for spiritual gift but I’m going to show you a more excellent way what was the excellent way love he goes right into chapter 13 the love chapter and he hits all the things we get hung up on tongues. Prophecy.
Scripture in this part
1 Corinthians 12:31 (NKJV)
But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.
— 1 Corinthians 12:31 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:27What does God want to do in us?
Short answer: 2 Peter 1:4–7: partakers of the divine nature—add to faith virtue, knowledge, self-control, patience, godliness, kindness and love. It is a progression of growth.
▶ 12:51 Understanding all mysteries in heaven all knowledge for we are knowledge seekers in this in America we think enough knowledge we can conquer anything but if God’s not in it your knowledge is worthless it’s he that raises us up it’s he that speaks it’s he that changes people I want to go on to second Peter 1:4 the divine nature he says God has given us exceedingly great and precious promises. Now you might be what partakers of the divine nature he didn’t want to just forgive you he didn’t want to just for you to go to heaven he forgave you saved you so you could partake of his divine nature and then he explains what it is add to your faith one virtue moral excellence.
▶ 13:46 Moral behavior first thing you add to faith is what moral behavior you’re supposed to be repenting from sin so you add moral behavior that’s God’s nature does God behave himself morally absolutely then knowledge knowledge of what knowledge of right and wrong so you can behave morally. Bible not not knowledge of where the earth is 10 million years old or 10 billion years old or whatever. The power is in the knowledge of who God is see and what he will do then you add self-control. So you could behave morally then you add patience and most of your spouse’s would love you to have this one.
▶ 14:40 And self-control and then you add godliness then you add kindness and then you add love and what did Paul say the more excellent way was love and it is a progression to it he’s not going to jump you from kindergarten to 12th grade. You got to go through the stages of growth. Hallelujah and if he said he would do it does he keep his word yes but most churches and most people never heard of taking on the nature of God they always looked at themselves so bad and [unclear]. Well God came to change who you are.
Scripture in this part
2 Peter 1:4-7 (NKJV)
by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
— 2 Peter 1:4-7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:51Where does he say the church must take a stand?
Short answer: On abortion, the same-sex movement, creation in six days, arms used only for defense, welfare without work (if a man won’t work he shouldn’t eat), and law and punishment. He says Paul declared the whole counsel of God.
▶ 15:33 That’s why in America we don’t know how to get on the right side of abortion we don’t know how to get on the right side of the same sex movement. We don’t know how and we don’t have to explain God creating the earth in six days because I know him because he’s real then Genesis 1 is true bottom line I have to prove to you anything he proved it was real when he came to me amen born-again means exactly what it says the spirit comes and birthed you into a spiritual being and the word is spirit so you believe the word amen yes. Arms as I said before we can defend our nation and we can defend our family but we don’t take up arms to promote the gospel alright.
▶ 16:34 Welfare without work it’s totally unscriptural if a man doesn’t work neither should he eat. We don’t know how to take a stance oh but it’s humanitarian it’s not humanitarian to just take the ambition and the drive out of an individual to provide for himself that’s not being humanitarian you want people to develop a work ethic and you want them to be blessed. By the product of that work amen. Law and punishment. The Democratic Party which has been invaded by the liberal progressive community and yet has twenty percent conservatives in it just blows my mind is set out to make America a socialist nation and a nation without law and punishment.
▶ 17:38 Everything is ok to them. Why because they want to get in power they want to destroy America the bottom line is they want to destroy our constitution they want to destroy the ethical moral standards of America and change it. And Christians don’t get it many Christians don’t get it and we who have more responsibilities have got to get this message out. we can’t [unclear] mountainside and just enjoy God we got to get this message out to the people and Paul said I have not ceased to declare to you the whole counsel of God not just salvation from sin not just Holy Ghost baptism not just the second coming but government and ethics and morals the whole counsel of God amen and yeah they’re not going to like you when you start talking about Bible morals they’re going to mistreat you you’re going to lose family members you’re going to lose friends.
Scripture in this part
2 Thessalonians 3:10 (NKJV)
For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.
— 2 Thessalonians 3:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 16:38 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 20:27 (NKJV)
For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.
— Acts 20:27 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:21 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Who delivers the righteous?
Short answer: Psalm 47:7: sing praises with understanding. Psalm 18:47–48: God avenges me, subdues the peoples, delivers me and lifts me above those who rise against me. It’s not our knowledge; he defends the righteous.
▶ 18:49 this is the same Psalm [unclear] sing praises to God sing praises sing praises to our king sing praises sing ye praises with understanding guess what the message is saying what and with what understanding and God is trying to give us understanding of what we do think and that makes a big difference okay. So clapping and shouting is a part of praise just as music singing dancing and lifting your hands amen now. results in the spiritual [unclear] we’ve given you the results in natural life Psalms 18:47. God who God avenges me. He deals with those that hurt me. [unclear] wait for God [unclear].
▶ 19:46 He subdues same word the people’s under me so do. What people here he delivered me from my what who delivers me he does. It’s not my great knowledge it’s not my great church or my great pastor he has to come intervene in my life and deliver me from those that oppose me and if I’m following righteousness what are they really opposing righteousness. you know if you’re wrong God ain’t going to come to your defense. Because you believe on him demons believe on him he didn’t come to their defense they’re still going to hell. it’s the righteous it’s those that embrace
Scripture in this part
Psalm 47:7 (NKJV)
For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.
— Psalm 47:7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:56 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Psalm 18:47-48 (NKJV)
It is God who avenges me, And subdues the peoples under me; He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man.
— Psalm 18:47-48 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:49What happened in the dark parking lot?
Short answer: He tells of a man who ran into him; at the name of Jesus he went into contortions and an inhuman voice spoke. He prayed peace, commanded the spirit out in Jesus’ name, then led him through the Roman road and the man accepted Christ.
▶ 20:40 The righteous morals of God you God lifts me above those who rise up against me who lifts me above. Who God it’s not my job to promote myself it’s not the church’s job to promote itself it’s the church’s job to follow God obey him and let God move us up because we are righteous people you deliver me from the violent person I had preached the message at a church and souls were saved and people renewed and a lot of things happened back in those days any idiot could preach almost and things would happen so I was one of the biggest idiot. But I was out in the parking lot with the pastor everybody had left it was just me and him and we were in the dark parking lot talking about the service and all that and out of the dark this guy just runs out of dark runs right into me right into me immediately I thought man he’s running from the police [unclear] the police.
▶ 21:57 [unclear] I began to talk to him and I started to talk to him about Jesus [unclear] the second I said Jesus this guy went into contortions. Unbelievable contortions he started talking and a language that humans don’t talk in and in a audio level that humans can’t say and the voice didn’t come from his vocal box it came from inside. Tremendous fear just filled the atmosphere I thought the pastor of the church literally is going to pee his pants literally he was scared to death.
▶ 22:51 Now folks what are you going to do in that situation you’re going to get your Bible pictorial dictionary out how about the Bible manners and customs how about the commentary Matthew Henry’s commentary surely he’s got an answer for this you’re going to get apologetics book and start giving the whats and whos of apologetics no you better know what you’re doing and you better know how to do it because this guy needs God he doesn’t need your knowledge he didn’t need your approval or anything he needs God to come to him so I immediately says I’m going to pray for you bud and when I asked God to bring peace on you and you’re going to quieten down and you’re going to get back to normal and then I’m going to share the gospel with you. And I prayed and back.
▶ 23:45 He went back and he’s standing there normal and I didn’t share the gospel I said in the name of Jesus you evil spirit come out of him that guy’s head went back into a contortion as unbelievable I know how I could have went back that far a shriek came out of him blood-curdling a decibel that humans can’t do. [unclear]. And then was done he’s back calm then I preached the gospel led him through the Roman road all have sinned the wages of sin is death the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ if you confess your sins he’s faithful and just to forgive your sin and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

— John 1:12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 24:44 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Does deliverance require ritual?
Short answer: No ritual—the name of Jesus, the name above every name. You don’t have to be perfect; he delivers.
▶ 24:45 to as many as received him to them gave he power to become sons of God live righteously he’ll empower and that young man accepted Christ that night. Church the point is. Satan is our enemy sin is our enemy but God has to do the delivering you can’t look at the exorcist movie in these priests doing this ritual there’s no ritual it’s a name of Jesus the name above every name and you don’t have to be perfect to address the issue he delivers he sets free he raises you up it isn’t the knowledge it’s him.

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
— Philippians 2:9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:24 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Who should hear our praise?
Short answer: Psalm 18:49: I will give thanks among the Gentiles and sing praises to your name. He tells of a Mexican Mafia member who wept and was told God would give him power to leave, and of walking without fear among guerrillas in El Salvador.
▶ 25:40 Totally. Then it says therefore I will give thanks to you o Lord among the Gentiles the heathen the unbelievers and sing praises to your name among the Gentile the heathen we got to get this message in this worship and the Christian songs out to people that need to hear it. [unclear]. Hallelujah. Remember the Mexican Mafia guy. [unclear] he wept he was a brute tattooed I mean he was mean murdered people enslaved girls raped girls I mean this guy was [unclear] he was bad and yet God came to him and what he wept and then I didn’t tell you this part but he said preacher if I get out of the Mexican Mafia they’re going to kill me I said.
▶ 26:52 [unclear] to as many as received him to them gave he power. God will give you power I said I will prove it now you’ll have to leave you’ll have to get away from your friends and everything but I said I will prove it to you I will go down to your neighborhood anytime a night you asked and I will walk from one end of that neighborhood and I will walk back and nothing would touch me to show you that God has power I said you know as well as I do a white boy doing that at night in that neighborhood is doomed. And he [unclear] you’re right [unclear]. Amen it’s God folks it’s God I’ve been to third world countries I’ve I’ve [unclear] from the communist guerrillas in the Salvador jungles without any fear and [unclear] who was my interpreter had no fear we just expected God to take care of us we were climbing through these mountains gone over stream yeah we had to walk all the way back to town because the guerrillas had blocked the road on the way out and they shoot down into they get on a high place and shoot down into the meeting and you have to turn off the lights and you have to scatter.

— Psalm 18:49 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:47 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What must a person do?
Short answer: Everyone who calls on him shall be saved. He says “unconditional love” is misused as if you don’t have to do anything; you must call on Jesus, confess, turn—and give him time to change you.
▶ 28:20 Amen why God has power folks he has power. Whatever your need is. Whoever you are and where you’re at this same God will come to you and he will make the difference in your life if you remember he said you got a call on him everyone that calls on him shall be what saved this word unconditional love is a lie when they talk of God’s unconditional love it is a lie they use it like you don’t have to do anything you do you have to call on him. [unclear] you can’t call on Allah you got a call on who Jesus Christ.
▶ 29:18 You got a call on his name you got it to turn you have to confess you been wrong and he will come and he’ll change your life like he did this woman and put new values in you for your marriage your children your community your self-respect your job tomorrow he will begin to put the character of God in you you gotta give him time and you got to seeking.

Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: Points to check: Psalm 47:1 spoken as “47 verse 10”; Romans 10:15 spoken as “holmen 1015”; the claim that “subdue” in Psalm 47:3 is rendered “speak” elsewhere hundreds of times; nations unknown until the 15th–16th century. Sensitive content kept as spoken: Muslims conquer by force (“off with your head”); communist governments; Democratic Party “invaded by the liberal progressive community… set out to make America a socialist nation” and destroy the Constitution; welfare without work; abortion and same-sex movement; deliverance account; Mexican Mafia member who murdered and enslaved girls; “unconditional love is a lie”.
