Children in Four Approaches 09/09/2018: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Pastor David G. Kincer teaches that natural parents are responsible for their children, that fathers must nurture and instruct, and that the Bible gives four disciplines: spank, restrain, instruct and rebuke. He then shows that 1 Timothy 3’s qualifications for church leaders begin in the home, with honesty, self-control and example.
What are the natural parents of a child?
Short answer: He says there is only one natural way to conceive a child: a male with the Y chromosome and a female with the X chromosome. Like a bird’s instinct to migrate, it is just common sense.
▶ 0:00 We. Showed you that scientifically there’s only one inherit inbred inborn natural instinct parents of children and that is a male with the y chromosomes a female with the x chromosomes and the genitals to go with it and the male genitals go with it and like a bird who has natural instinct to migrate so that they don’t starve and die so the human race if they don’t follow the natural method of conception of a child between a man and a woman which is passed on these chromosomes and the sex organs is passed on to the next female and passed on to the next male the human race will die out.
Are parents responsible for their children?
Short answer: Yes. Male and female parents who conceive a child are legally responsible and liable for the child’s necessities and behavior. The government agrees, and the Bible backs it up: if anyone does not provide for his own family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
▶ 0:51 Now if animals have follow their god-given instinct shouldn’t us intelligent human beings of course it’s just common sense so we’re going to approach and focus on children the product of a relationship between a natural man and natural woman in four approaches and the first one we hit last week was male and female parents conceiving a child are legally responsible and liable for the child’s necessities and behavior in the secular world. 18 in the Bible. Age 20 using Numbers 14:29 and Deuteronomy 139 it is not the responsibility of grandparents relatives citizens or government to raise children that are born by too natural a male and a female it is there they brought them into the world it’s their responsibility to take care of them is that just logical.
▶ 1:56 The government agrees parent parental [unclear] civil liability for a child’s act is a law that says that parents are responsible for the upbringing of their child and the actions of their child until that child is 18 the Bible backs that up first Timothy 5:8 if any provide prepare ahead of time not for his own self and for those of his own family he has denied the faith and is worth and unbeliever. See it’s not whether you can speak in tongues and prophesy and heal the sick and and you know save thousand souls it’s. Do you provide for yourself and if you get married do you provide for your family and if.
Scripture in this part
1 Timothy 5:8 (NKJV)
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
— 1 Timothy 5:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:56What should you do before starting a family?
Short answer: Prepare yourself in the field: get a career, a job skill and an education, and then when you can support a family, build your home.
▶ 2:49 You don’t you’re worse than an unbeliever because you’re a believer that’s not following the basic moral principles of the Bible. Are you there see the Bible says to prepare yourself in the field get a career get a job skill then come and build your home and the Bible says and all you’re getting get wisdom get understanding you’ve got to get an education you got to get a job skill and then when you can support a family then you get married and you have sex and you raise those children as your responsibility requires doesn’t that just make common sense and the Bible is a book of common sense by the way now if even six four and Colossians 3:21 address the same thing fathers he pacific he says father’s and in my journey here on earth father’s basically shoved the children off to the mother.
Scripture in this part
Proverbs 24:27 (NKJV)
Prepare your outside work, Make it fit for yourself in the field; And afterward build your house.
— Proverbs 24:27 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:49Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV)
Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.
— Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:49What does it mean to bring children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord?
Short answer: Fathers, don’t provoke your children to anger lest they become discouraged. Nurture means bringing them up in everything necessary to maturity; admonition is the discipline and warning of the Lord, including teaching them the Bible’s consequences for doing wrong.
▶ 3:58 But the Bible says fathers. Don’t provoke your children to anger. With your attitude with your mouth with your demands. Least they’d be this come become discouraged. They just give up and they’ll rebel bring them up in the nurture the word nurture means bring them up in everything necessary to maturity till they’re an adult you’re responsible to nurture them train them. Until they develop into a wholesome adult that is directly to fathers now I had to talk about to God about this you know husband loves your wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it and then I read this thing I’m going you know there’s a little lopsided us men seem to be getting the heavy area of responsibility here and of course he just sets up from his throne and doesn’t even respond just do it boy his silence is just do it are you there I don’t feel sorry for you I made you a man act like a man all right.
Scripture in this part
Ephesians 6:4 (NKJV)
And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
— Ephesians 6:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:58Colossians 3:21 (NKJV)
Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
— Colossians 3:21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:58What does the Bible say about mothers?
Short answer: The younger women are to marry, bear children and guide the house. A woman is not a mother just because she births a child; she uses self-control, manages the household and is kind.
▶ 5:22 And the admonition of the Lord the discipline of the Lord the warning the counsel of the war it’s important that you teach your kids the Bible. Consequences for doing wrong yeah it is very important it’s higher teaching the Bible consequences for doing wrong then you telling them what’s right and wrong and your consequences are you there now we also saw in the Bible that the younger women are to marry bear children guide the house give none occasion to the adversary to preach speak reproach reproachfully Titus 2:4 train the younger women train the younger women train the younger women to love their husbands. To love their children do no harm to their husband do no harm to their children respect their husband respect their children be self-controlled.
▶ 6:21 You see a mother can’t is not a mother just because she births a child that’s natural. My mother uses self-control. They guide and run that house right they are pure they don’t live in sin they don’t go around the house using profanity and cursing and and losing their temper and throwing a tantrum and all that they manage the household they are kind kind to their husband kind to the children kind to other people not violent not macho or whatever you want to call it they’re kind. Macho I guess in the female is that right macho.
Scripture in this part
1 Timothy 5:14 (NKJV)
Therefore I desire that the younger widows marry, bear children, manage the house, give no opportunity to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
— 1 Timothy 5:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:22Titus 2:4-5 (NKJV)
that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
— Titus 2:4-5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:21How do people evaluate your Christianity?
Short answer: By how your family goes—not by prophecy, tongues or healing. So that the word of God will not be evil spoken of, we affect our adversaries by how we raise and run our family.
▶ 7:16 I’m married to a spanish-speaking lady I mean yeah I’m gonna get it at home if I don’t to get this right. And they’re subject to their own husband you see so that the word of God will not be evil spoken of now here it is twice how the family goes is how people are going to evaluate your christianity. Not your prophesy on not you’re speaking in tongues not healing the sick and raising the dead not how many people you can witness to it’s your family that’s going to determine how outsiders are going to judge your Christian walk. Aren’t you glad you came to church today. You know we go around saying I’m a Christian well show it if you’re single run your life run at the Bible way if you’re married run the whole family the whole family should project.
▶ 8:20 The result of being a Christian in that what this says are you here today yeah so we get [unclear] Jesus is coming any minute and we get off on all these tangents and the Bible says that we affect our adversaries and we affect how people talk about us by how we raise our family how we run our family. Now folks that’s down-to-earth powerful and the churches are fighting about over stupid doctrines when Jesus is coming and his tongues for today and is healing for today and we’re arguing about all that and our families are a mess and the world is rejecting christianity and America it’s on the decline every year we keep going down we’ve gone down from 92% of America into the 70s already in just a few decades why because we claim to be Christians and our families are a mess we divorce just like that.
Scripture in this part
Titus 2:5 (NKJV)
to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
— Titus 2:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:161 Timothy 5:14 (NKJV)
Therefore I desire that the younger widows marry, bear children, manage the house, give no opportunity to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
— 1 Timothy 5:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:20What are the four disciplines in the Bible?
Short answer: Spank, restrain, instruct and rebuke. A rebuke is a short scolding, not a lecture; you instruct with the rules of the house and, when they break them, you back up your instruction.
▶ 9:21 If I don’t get my way I’ll see you later I will get somebody to give me my way are you am I right. 52% of Christians divorce. So. This next one we’re going to deal with. Is. The we’re going to approach the children from discipline there’s four disciplines in the Bible spanked say spank. Restraint. Instruct. Rebuke. Rebuke is scold it’s not a lecture. It’s short it’s to the point and they know you are not pleased I.
▶ 10:20 Can’t understand these people want to lecture their children. You lecture your child when you instruct them now these are the rules of the house. That’s the instruction do you understand daughter do you understand what son yes okay when they break the rule I don’t instruct I back up my instruction. Are you there I don’t get down now honey you know you got to understand dad you know hey you agreed to the rules of this house get to your room. You don’t want to discipline your kid publicly and embarrass them in front of people you want us and it’s a more dramatic go to your room.
▶ 11:18 And then there are now waiting and anticipating for you to come in and when I come in that room you better be sitting on your bed not laying on it and you better not be playing with any toys you just better be waiting for your punishment. Are you there. No late I don’t have to yell and scream or anything they know the system powell to your room they know they done something wrong right there if I’m in the store come on we’re going to the bathroom and they know oh my God I don’t have to go wee-wee I’m in trouble are you their parents.
Whose job is it to teach children right from wrong?
Short answer: The parents’, not the government, teachers, grandparents or the church. Don’t trust textbooks; the church’s responsibility is to confirm that what you say at home is right.
▶ 12:07 Are scientifically directly under the authority of their natural parents their natural parents and to obey the parents right instructions and parents like public schools and like our politician we should only be making right laws and teaching right information is that an amen parents are under the same responsibility to teach their kids right not wrong just as we said before if you get a car you’re responsible for what you do with that car you can’t go breaking the law and in accidents and putting your kids in the car and that with the windows rolled up and they died from the heat exposure and so forth you’re responsible just as a weapon you get a weapon you’re responsible for the results of that weapon utensils in the kitchen or whatever your tools in the garage you’re responsible that those things do not bring harm to anyone and it’s the same principle that parents of a child are under they’ve got to take care of that new possession.
▶ 13:24 Amen. It’s not government or teachers at school don’t hand your kids over to the teachers at school it’s your responsibility to teach your kid they are there to help you they’re there to aid you textbooks don’t trust textbooks. Make sure those textbooks are teaching truth and the public so test books are not teaching truth. Not the grandparents or citizens it is the parents responsibility to make sure their kids are not being bullied it’s the parents responsibility that to see that the child is not being sexually or physically abused by relatives by acquaintances or by outsiders it is the parents responsibility to teach their kid to say no to strangers it is the parents responsibility to teach their kid not to follow the wrong crowd is that I amen.
▶ 14:21 It’s not the church’s responsibility the church’s responsibility is to confirm what you are saying at home is right and that’s why a lot of people don’t come to a church like this because they don’t want to hear somebody confirm what is right because they’re raising their kids wrong. And the measure of a Christian is their individual life and their family we just read it didn’t we not saying I’m a Christian anybody can say that. Now it’s better to walk alone than with the wrong crowd is that a good statement yeah that’s a Bible statement all right don’t run with a crowd to do evil now getting back to the discipline children obey your parents in all things all right things for this is well pleasing unto the Lord children have a responsibility to obey their parents okay.
What should fathers teach their children?
Short answer: Listen to a father’s instruction and you will gain understanding. Fathers instruct, restrain and tell children what is acceptable at home, keep telling them, and back it up with discipline.
▶ 15:21 Listen Proverbs 4:1 my son [unclear] here it is again father specifically to father’s. Listen to a father’s instruction see instruct you instruct them you restrain them you tell them what is acceptable in the home you tell them what is not acceptable in the home and then and you keep telling them at the dinner table or when you go to bed at night by telling them stories and then when they break it you use discipline you don’t start instructing then you already did your instruction and they violated is that an amen. Don’t you believe these dr. Sparke books and all these psychology they haven’t got their own families together yoda read the backgrounds on some of these people that tell you don’t discipline and don’t spank their life is a mess are you there do you ever check offers out I have to as a pastor I mean I got to check everything up.
Scripture in this part
Proverbs 4:1 (NKJV)
Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, And give attention to know understanding;
— Proverbs 4:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 15:21Should parents give in to a child’s crying?
Short answer: Chasten your son while there is hope, and let not your soul spare for his crying. He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him diligently and consistently.
▶ 16:27 All right pay attention to those father’s instructions you will gain understanding insight and good judgment do you want your children to make good decisions then you got to make good decisions and show them how. Proverbs 19:18 chasten your son restrained your son while there’s hope let not your soul spare for his crying. And women on the high percentages fall for this oh oh my poor little me me ha oh good it’s great no it’s not a time for empathy it’s a time for restraint with a consequence for breaking the restraining rule.
▶ 17:21 Are you here today yes. He who who withholds his rod hates his son he who loves him disciplines him restrains him diligently. Consistently you got to be consistent if you’re gonna tell your child this is going to be the repercussion for this wrong act and this is going to be the consequence for this wrong act then you back it up and you be consistent with it is that an amen you don’t let your guard down ever they need to know you mean it. Folly foolishness. Silliness is bound in the heart of a child now we agree with that one right I mean come on they come up with a birdbrain as ideas and the most foolish stuff there is okay it’s bound up tied up in the heart of the child but the rod the spanking of correction restraint the rod is used to teach them they’ve got to restrain from doing things that are going to hurt them or hurt others is that an amen.
Scripture in this part
Proverbs 19:18 (NKJV)
Chasten your son while there is hope, And do not set your heart on his destruction.
— Proverbs 19:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 16:27Proverbs 13:24 (NKJV)
He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.
— Proverbs 13:24 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:21What does the Bible say about the rod?
Short answer: Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction will drive it far from him. If you strike him with the rod he will not die, and you shall deliver his soul from hell. The Bible emphasizes an instrument, not your hand.
▶ 18:42 It will drive it far from him if you want to drive the silliness and the foolishness out of your child be consistent with discipline. Don’t hold discipline. From the child if you strike him with the rod he will not die. Okay. Yeah isn’t gonna die and spank them on their rear end you know don’t be spanking him on the back and the legs and all that like some people do they the the the the measure of pain is not the issue here. It’s to remind them they broke the rule and you know I would never use my hand to. Discipline my top.
▶ 19:35 It was always a belt or paddle but my favorite was a plastic baseball bat I. Got taken to court because a Christian turned me in for child abuse because he beats his kid with a baseball bat can you picture that I mean you know believe me he’s up there or you know a big old bat pow now I had a little plastic hollow baseball bat that we brought with a little plastic ball and all that that thing was so perfect it didn’t really hurt but it sounded horrible hassad I mean it absorbed all it absorbed all the hit you know mostly but it sounded mask aside cuz I. And. You know and I could hit with with some force because it wasn’t you know I didn’t have to measure anything I mean that couldn’t hurt him with that bat but you see Christians can be evil they save their Christian but they don’t have their own life together nor their family life together are you there.
▶ 20:45 Now olivia I’ve been to court several times because of my Christian. Commitment to principles and I’ve wanted every time and it’s always been against other Christians accusing me of something that was not true taking it out of context taking me to extreme okay so an instrument the Bible. Emphasizes an instrument not your hand I mean how many I mean when I grew up you know it would be in church and my mom wouldn’t reach over if I did something wrong and just twist my ear I hated that it just made me mad I’ll show her why she used her own the the mother that loved me used her hand to hurt me are you there have you ever seen a parent raised their hand just in talking and their kid there and the kid have you ever seen that absolutely why because they use their hand big mistake.
▶ 22:00 Get their eyes on another not yourself are you there the rod aren’t you glad you came to church today. He’s not going to die all right strike him with the rod and you shall deliver his soul from hell. All of a sudden it becomes important discipline is important hell is eternal if you don’t discipline your child you’re open the door for him to live loosely and wind up before Christ going to help the rod and reproof give wisdom a child getting his own way brings who to shame. It’s interesting that he they used the word mother here.
▶ 22:53 Why because women on a high percentage are more lenient than men. Men were born to be disciplined and to stand up for discipline men were born to be meant to protect the home to protect the nation to fight wars men were born to take care of their kids and their wife physically if they have to it is inbred in us and when you still I say we can’t have gun guns are natural for a man nice or natural for a man we. We don’t have a problem with these things are you that I. Love it now reproof that’s the rebuke let me give you a little raishin of a rebuke scolding.
Scripture in this part
Proverbs 22:15 (NKJV)
Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him.
— Proverbs 22:15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:42Proverbs 23:13-14 (NKJV)
Do not withhold correction from a child, For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. You shall beat him with a rod, And deliver his soul from hell.
— Proverbs 23:13-14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:42How did his parents discipline him as a boy?
Short answer: When he chased a friend with a butcher knife, his parents gave him a spanking, set him in a chair and scolded him in thirty seconds—all three disciplines at once.
▶ 23:50 I. Was playing with a friend of mine and we went into the kitchen to get a drink of water or something I don’t know and there was a butcher knife laying there on the table and my friend was scared to death of that knife now I was raised how to handle nice even though I was seven or eight years old nice didn’t scare me guns didn’t scare me I was raised by my dad to handle a gun to handle a rod and reel to cast and tools you know that’s just what dad did dad taught me how to put my hand into a fire without getting burned he taught me how to put my hand in hot grease without getting burned. Not bad for a guy that only graduated from eighth grade wouldn’t you say. So I wasn’t afraid of fire I wasn’t I’m ready to hot things he taught me how to handle him and he taught me how to handle on a knife and so when this friend of mine was scared of this knife I thought it was funny so I picked up the knife he really got terrified now I think it’s funny oh what in the world and I said well I’m gonna get you my he took off running I took off running after him I’m gonna get you man I’m gonna get you now I was having fun with the foolish.
▶ 25:12 Reaction of this friend of mine to the knife. But my friend went to my parents and my fun ended. My parents David come here man I knew that tone of voice that one we want you to go get a drink of water or say it was I am in trouble and they gave me what for in 30 seconds it didn’t take ten minutes of discussion I had already been taught not to handle a knife foolish I had been taught that I violated it even though I was I mean I got scolded in 32nd and I’m just and I know I’m wrong I’m just sitting there own man but it didn’t stop there go to your room wow.
▶ 26:06 I got the spanking and then I got set in a chair I got the restraint. All three of them from violating a very important rule with a knife that can hurt you said I could have fallen and hurt myself running after him and playing with a knife are you there they got my attention really quick with that face and that’s scolding you know better than this you know you’re not supposed to do this. Are you there see that scolding. Don’t listen to these people that’s give a three-strike rule that’s your first warning now the next time you do it you’re gonna be in trouble well guess what I’m gonna do it again. Ain’t no three-strike rule you gave two strikes when you instructed them now there’s only one left they violated power are you there do you want your child to go to hell then learn to discipline.
What is the parental test?
Short answer: Correct your son and he will give you rest and delight to your soul. Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure and right.
▶ 27:17 Correct your son and he will give you comfort he will delight your soul you will be proud of him a child is known by his doings of his work be pure and right that is the parental test is your child behaved are they doing what’s right. Because you’re consistent with the discipline I never experiment as I never experienced the terrible teens I never experienced these things that psychologists tell you it’s going to happen well they’re a teenager no that’s not an excuse to do wrong is that an amen and the parents are the ones responsible here if your kid is bad check out what you’re doing wrong. Is that an amen you know your kids are gonna make mistakes if you think you’re gonna have a perfect kid forget it they’re going to test the boundaries they’re going to make mistakes don’t get excited you got 20 years to get them to maturity you don’t have to get it all done in one day that’s what I tell my staff at school we got 12 years to educate these kids don’t panic.
Scripture in this part
Proverbs 29:17 (NKJV)
Correct your son, and he will give you rest; Yes, he will give delight to your soul.
— Proverbs 29:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 27:17Proverbs 20:11 (NKJV)
Even a child is known by his deeds, Whether what he does is pure and right.
— Proverbs 20:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 27:17Who are the biggest tantrum throwers?
Short answer: Parents. They throw tantrums in church and leave when they don’t get their way, and that is what causes many divorces. The only thing we need is Jesus Christ; the rest of us are expendable.
▶ 28:38 Over one day or one week or one month are you there alleluia. Guess who the biggest tantrum throwers are. Parents. They throw a tantrum they throw it in church you know I’ve ever been on the ball field and and you know you’re picking teams in need and then everybody agrees you so-and-so’s on first base and so on so that’s its shortstop and so and why did we put them there because we knew their skill we’re out on the playground and we’re getting a team together because we want to beat the other team and the guy says I want to be shortstop no no you play right field no I want to be short sup if I’m not sore top I’m going home we’ll go home. Christians are like that if the church don’t do it my way I’ll just leave well what’s the church left to do leave we’re not gonna do you’re right we’re gonna do it with the consensus of the group from the Bible are you there you get in your little tantrum and throw your little tantrum I’ve you know do it my way I’ll just leave and go to another charity you know you left us with no choice you’re free you can go to any church you want.
▶ 29:56 Are you there that’s a Christian tantrum. Instead of working out the solution they just leave wanting you to beg him to come back oh please don’t leave oh please don’t no don’t beg them don’t enable them. The only thing we need is Jesus Christ the rest of us are expendable. In that trip Jesus and his word is what we need if you think you’re so important to any church you’re gonna find out when you go to the next year too that you’re just a little flea on the dog all right. Parents are like this they throw tantrums and they throw it in front of their kids they’ll argue and fight in front of their kids or with their kids in ear range.
▶ 30:55 What are they doing they’re throwing a tantrum that what somebody wants their way and they’re not getting it and that’s what causes a divorce a lot of it is not sexual immorality or finances it’s just I didn’t get my way. So this marriage isn’t working you got to make it work could I be an amen you got to play with the team they want you in right field you play right field you know get good enough and they’ll make you a shortstop what they’re telling you is you’re not good enough to be shortstop short top is a very important position if you know baseball a lot of balls go through that area a lot of all so they gotta have somebody there that can handle that area not somebody that wants to handle that area and you may not like who is in positions in the church you may not like the teacher he thinks you’re there an idiot you may not like the leader the administrator you may not like the pastor I think I got all kinds of people doesn’t like me.
▶ 32:03 Why it’s my job to follow the bylaws of the church which is the bylaws of the Bible all right that’s my job so the buck stops with me so I get all the blame if people don’t get their way I’m the one that gets the blame are you there. They throw tantrums. And what is the major of christianity what you do with your life and your families. Now that was good side teaching there did you get it yes don’t be alarmed when people leave a church ninety-nine percent of the time is they can’t get their way and they won’t adjust.
▶ 32:57 And the church doesn’t go around exposing people you just got to realize that’s what most people do especially when I want to blame someone or something you know that they don’t see their own mistakes at all you ever noticed that critics never see their own mistakes they just see the mistakes in others and I hear it all the time all through week I hear somebody criticizing someone else and they are doing sometimes the same thing that one is doing in a different way or they’re doing other things that are wrong but they you can’t get through to them that normal no I thought that is not not me in there right yeah that’s right because all of us are guilty. Now.
What is a church leader in 1 Timothy 3?
Short answer: The word is servant, not a title to gloat over. A leader must be blameless, the husband of one wife, self-controlled, of good behavior, hospitable and able to teach.
▶ 33:49 Parental test is how your child is being raised whether he’s good or whether it’s bad this is a very important if you ever listen to any sermon I’ve said you better be listening right now. I’m gonna give you true christianity right now from the Bible are you ready you got the shoulders to handle this. I’m gonna show you the Bible requirements of a church leader and a parent. How many parents we got here this morning okay. Now if you’re not married you’re still responsible for your individual life and you’re still responsible for these requirements.
▶ 34:49 How many unmarried do we have here this morning. Just one there’s some hands that didn’t go up. No more oh oh no a bishop first Timothy 3:2 a leader a minister a servant. Servant say the word servant servant. Do you know that’s what a church leader is. You know that that word is servant and they interpret us bishop or minister but it the word is servant a church leader is there to serve you see a schoolteacher is there to serve those students academically and character and teach them the administrators are there to serve the book keepers are there to serve are you there.
▶ 35:51 It’s not a title that you can gloat over it just means you work and you work a church leader must be what blameless how come we just skip right over that word. They don’t speak harshly with their mouths they don’t do bad things they’re blameless. The husband of one wife one wife not a wife and a mistress. Not a wife and hookups one wife period. Sex between one man and one woman do we get that. No. Intoxication whoo.
▶ 36:45 Whoa. Now it’s in red and I’m gonna show you whites in red okay. Self-controlled I. Mean our church leader should be self-controlled. Good behavior which goes with blameless. Good behavior they might make mistakes but they correct them then we’ll justify them. We’re gonna make mistakes but we don’t have to stay in the mistake do we we can correct it see admitting you were wrong can we say those three words I was wrong I was wrong yeah it’s very hard to say can we say you were right you were right sometimes you don’t have to say I was wrong and Becky loves for me to say this you’re right.
▶ 37:51 That’s that’s better than saying I was wrong yeah I didn’t say I was right I said well you’re right well you’re right because I was wrong are you there. Hospitable. Hospitable that means you have guests over and you give them a drink and you feed them my son-in-law is always saying can we bring over something or you know can we do this or do that I said no you’re my guest I feed you you are my guess see what am I doing I am obeying the Bible’s principle of hospitality. Are you there. Now if we’re getting together for another purpose it’s not hospitality then they can bring some food and so forth maybe a family reunion or whatever you know you understand but when you invite especially an unbeliever over or a young one in a church it is your job to be hospitable feed them nothing works like good food.
▶ 39:09 Are you there and it doesn’t have to be caviar or filet mignon it can be spaghetti it can be beans and cornbread it isn’t the the cost of the food it’s the thing that you. Reach out to them with the Thompsons invited me over to the house he Jim helped me get a car get a van for the church and I told him how I’ll take you out for lunch and you know thanking him as a thing for helping me out and he was he was a big help for me when out which one to buy and all that we could interact with each other and he says ah we don’t need to go to restaurant we’ll go to my house and so we went to his house and he fixed me this great sandwich and he had this root beer that was I never tasted a root beer like that or I forgot about it and we didn’t have to fight a crowd I could hear we could talk and they got this great inviting house you know I’ve never been in thompson’s house you just want to stay there just is just so together are you with me you see hospitality.
▶ 40:24 He didn’t ask me to bring my own bread. See he invited me to be his guest and we had a great time there and it was better than going to the restaurant really boss are you with me alleluia. Apt to teach means able to teach you see you had to learn these things. And if you learned them guess what you can teach them if you didn’t learn them guess what you can’t teach them. All right a mechanic learns how to fix a car so when I junior apprentice comes in he can what teach them why cuz he knows how to fix a car.
Scripture in this part
1 Timothy 3:2 (NKJV)
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach;
— 1 Timothy 3:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 34:49Why does the Bible say leaders are not given to wine?
Short answer: He says alcohol is out for leaders, and alcohol is the king drug destroying lives and families in America. His family was the only dry family on his block.
▶ 41:26 Becky cannot teach my son’s how to fix a car she knows how to unlock the door turn on the ignition and drive and call triple-a praise God for triple-a and here it is again not given to what what he repeats it twice and there are synonyms and other meanings for the word but the basic thing is he’s saying alcohol is out for leaders and what’s American homes greatest problem. Alcohol. Not marijuana not.
▶ 42:21 Cocaine its alcohol is the king drug that’s destroying lies and destroying families in America and it’s been doing it since I was a kid my family was the only family on both sides of the block with 12 houses on each side of the block that was a dry family it was the only family in the neighborhood that was a sane family it was the only house in the neighborhood that all the kids gathered in front of our house why because a my mom always had homemade cookies. And they were safe there they knew that my mom my dad was at work most of the time you know but my mom they were safe there. And every.
▶ 43:14 Home had an alcoholic in it or both. Every home had sexual immorality almost in it there were problems in every home and my acquaintances children in my age and so forth retaliated against those homes they literally did and that’s another story. Alcohol was the big problem now when I came to Christ and if the Bible would have said you got a handle alcohol I would have had a hard time believing in the Bible because I saw the results as a kid and as a teenager of what alcohol did to people are you there and that the Bible’s gonna promote something that’s going to destroy a person’s life and a family’s life then there’s something wrong with this Bible because scientifically the evidence is alcohol destroys is that an amen catholic and protestant ministers catholic priests protestant ministers I maybe read just recently Catholics that got caught having sex with kids again again they were caught when I was a kid growing up they’re caught every other year folks why do people go to a church that is consistently abusing children.
▶ 44:35 No it isn’t tradition. Protestants every year I read or Protestants. Are having sex with their kids. Sex with women in the congregation sex with the the youth in the youth group every year why do Protestants go to a church where this is going on and it’s not too dizzy I. See I have your attention why. Would a catholic go to a church that serves alcohol in communion knowing that 33 million of Americans have a problem with alcohol.
▶ 45:38 Why would they do that that’s just insane why would I go to a church like that why did PTL channel 40 why do they have a budget of a half a million dollars a year for alcohol and they claim to be spirit-filled that makes them in my era my arena and the Holy Spirit that I experience does not allow that yet in their budget in their finances they have a half a million dollars worth of alcohol in their budget every year. You didn’t know that huh because you guys don’t check up on church leaders and church ministers as a pastor I got to do that as a father I got to protect my family from wolves as a father even if I wasn’t a pastor I got to do my research to protect my family is that an amen.
▶ 46:46 The reason is are you ready for this you’re saved by faith only. No conduct required the baptist’s are bigger the Southern Baptists are strong on this and they’re the biggest protestant denomination in. If you believe in Jesus you’re going to heaven you cannot lose your salvation how many have heard that so I get something for nothing so even though the catholic priests are molesting kids and they’re serving alcohol I go to the catholic church because if I die catholic I’m going to happen. And on judgment day we’re judged by what whether we good or whether we be bad if we obey the moral principles of the Bible or did we disobey them remember the Bible says demons believe and they.

1 Timothy 3:3 (NKJV)
not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
— 1 Timothy 3:3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 41:26Titus 1:7 (NKJV)
For a bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,
— Titus 1:7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 41:26What does “not a brawler” mean for fathers?
Short answer: Not violent, not quarrelsome and not greedy; a father has to have time in his schedule to raise his children. But you must put your life on the line to protect your wife and child.
▶ 47:44 Tremble they’re not going to have it all right no. No fighter no quarrel err. Here argue they don’t quarrel they don’t get into it and it’s in blue because they’re going to repeat it not greedy they don’t have a love for money everything isn’t about working for 12 hours a day seven days a week and heaven fancy homes and all that no a father has to have in his schedule time to raise his children hmm is that an amen. But patient folks you got to be patient with your kids yet your firm and yet you’re consistent and yet you dismiss but you got to remember you got 20 years to get them to the objective you got to exercise pacer you got to exercise patient with your spouse.
▶ 48:52 You know there’s things that you haven’t gotten. Give them time to get what you don’t like right is that a good statement. Don’t take your ball and go home because you can’t you know win the argument play the game you may not like it in right field but play the game and be part of winning the game. Not a brawler here it is not a fighter not a brawler no fisticuffs is out now don’t get me wrong. Somebody breaks into your house it’s not a time to speak in tongues like I see testimony I spoke in tongues and they just ran. Yeah right. And that’s fairfield circuit we got a lot of idiots and we got a lot of unlearned people yeah.
▶ 49:49 See. If they read Corinthians they would know tongues doesn’t do that anyway you gotta get up and protect you got to put your life on the line for your child and your wife whether you get a baseball bat or a 45. Weapon or whatever you got it’s your job to go out there and put your life on the line and if they kill you before you get them then you have done your job. Are you their fathers. And if you’re so scared of dying that you cannot protect your family there’s something wrong with your masculinity from the Bible. Amen I got some good amens for men there I like that it’s about time men spoke up yeah yes it’s our job to protect our life see Christ lead on his life for the church and we’re to love our wife like that it’s our job.
▶ 51:00 And our kids but otherwise we don’t go out there trying to promote the gospel and other things with violence you got it and there’s too many leaders in churches because I get called to deal with problems in churches I have for decades and there’s too many leaders a car they drink alcohol they’re alcoholics they’re violent they should not be a leader you cannot be a leader in God’s church and do this stuff. Okay. Not covet just not desire your neighbor’s wife their house or car or whatever it goes right along with greed okay he he repeats three things twice I mean you know and when you repeat something it’s important and these are violators I mean you know these these ministers that propagate.
▶ 52:02 Prosperity are violating. The very principles of leadership. Are you hearing me all right ellen they tell you that you serve God you’re gonna prosper they’re violating the very principles and I’m talking about being rich they live in big mansions and dry the fanciest cars and the most expensive and have the biggest boat and our plane that’s violating the very principles of a church leader why do people go to them now you know the answer they offer you eternal life because you believe in Jesus Christ plus nothing and they’re offering you that if you serve Christ you’re gonna be healthy wealthy and wise. Amen and multitudes of Christians follow them if they would just read their Bible they would know these this isn’t true so now we come to you.
Scripture in this part
1 Timothy 3:3 (NKJV)
not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
— 1 Timothy 3:3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 47:44What does it mean to rule your own house well?
Short answer: A church leader has his house together, having his children in submission with all honesty, not muscle. It does not say having his wife in submission; lead your wife, don’t boss her.
▶ 53:12 Ruling well his own house whoa a church leader has to have his house together isn’t that what we learned earlier. Not that we are perfect we make mistake but we correct the mistakes we admit our mistakes. Ruling his own house well. Having his children in submission with all honesty whoa with all what honesty not muscle. Not macho but honesty. And I was lucky to have a father like that my father never passed a baseball with me he never threw a football with me and I don’t know why I didn’t even realize until I was in my 20s that dad never played sports with me or even pass football or kicked the soccer ball with me never.
▶ 54:20 And the psychologists say whether it’s those things that bond my dad’s honesty is what bonded me I. Had an honest dad. Good man. How could late have my life for that when I was a teenager I would have put my life on the line to stand up for my dad. He never took me rope rappelling. Or hang gliding or anything like that. But he was an honest father and I was proud of him and that’s what the scriptures say kids need honesty.
▶ 55:13 You tell them not to smoke and you smoke you tell them not to drink and you drink you’re not an example at all you tell them to use self-control and you don’t have any. You tell them not to use profanity and you use it all the time. That’s not honesty. You notice it does not say having his wife in submission. Most young Christians get this all wrong. It’s not your responsibility to have your wife in submission she does that willingly from your honesty.
▶ 56:09 It is your job to have your kids in control because their kids they haven’t learned how to restrain himself yet are you with me. But it’s not your wife your job. To be bossing your wife around we should be leading your wife around. When a man is honest self-controlled patient loving and well behaved only an idiot woman. Would reject him and there’s idiot women out there because they want their own way. Just letting these things soak in just letting the Holy Spirit touch your heart today okay.

1 Timothy 3:4-5 (NKJV)
one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?);
— 1 Timothy 3:4-5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 53:12What do children need most from their parents?
Short answer: The example. When we don’t come to church, worship, pray or read our Bibles, we teach our kids those things aren’t important. We can admit our mistakes, correct them and get stronger.
▶ 57:07 Sometimes we get in too fast of a rush to get out of church. Let me know the example is what kids need. Em you know we make mistakes and aren’t an example. How many know we can correct those mistakes we don’t have to give up on fathering another ring on whatever we can correct we can just admit I was wrong or you were right. God forgives and we can get up and we can be stronger and it may take several gettin up if a man does not know how to rule his own house how shall he care for the church of God if you don’t have as a single person your life in control you should not have an authoritative position in the church if your family you aren’t heading it the right way now you may make mistakes but you correct them you don’t justify them if your family is a mess because of your dishonesty and the way your bringing up your kid you cannot have an authoritative position in the church is that an amen.
▶ 58:32 And guess where that kind of character comes from. The character of a church leader comes from where the home. If you’ve got your home together then you are a candidate to have an authoritative position in the church if you stand for righteousness and morals even if you make mistakes here and there you have a right to be a candidate to be a church leader and if your home isn’t so your husband’s and wife have to line up to the church requirements. Yes. Do single men and women have to line up to church requirements yes.
▶ 59:29 Whether the pastor you know no don’t give me that excuse all of us have got to have the characteristics of a Bible leader is that a good amen and when we don’t come to church what are we teaching our kids church isn’t important when we don’t worship or don’t pray what are we teaching our kids the same day. When we don’t read our bibles what are we teaching our kids Bible isn’t important. And kids learn by watching you more than they listen to you you know that as a parent you know right yeah. So. No novice no trainee that means an adolescent a teen parent just because you got sexual organs as an adolescent doesn’t mean you use them you’re a trainee you’re learning to be an adult not a novice.
Why shouldn’t a novice lead in the church?
Short answer: Every apostle Christ chose was successful in an occupation. A novice is a trainee, so don’t make children or new believers preachers and teachers, lest pride ruin them. A leader must also have a good report outside the church.
▶ 1:00:40 You can’t drop out of school you need an education that makes you a trainee you got to have a job skill. Every leader in the Bible listen to me every leader in the Bible every apostle that Christ chose was successful in an occupation. The prophets of old were successful shepherds or something he didn’t go and get the beggar off the street to put him in authority over God’s people never. But the church mentality is anybody can no more humble that isn’t the word for humble humble is you stick with God no matter what the crowd does. You follow God no that’s what Moses did he followed God no matter what the crowd did he was humble are you there.
▶ 1:01:44 If they’re having sex they don’t have morals they don’t have self-control they’re trainees and we got to get it into our young. Adolescence to get an education get a job skill and be able to provide then get married then have sex and you will be succeed in life I guarantee you you will succeed in America you will not be on skid row you will not be on welfare are you there and this is all Bible principles now let’s go to the church the church there’s churches especially in spirit fill areas oh today my spirit valeria’s how do some anti Bible things because they follow feelings instead of doctrinal facts and they.
▶ 1:02:39 They let children get up behind the pulpit and preach the gospel like they’re called a child is a what novice he’s a trainee he’s in training he should not be up there preaching the gospel and people going oh wow what not good all you’re doing is inflating his big ego and his big head and he’s gonna wind up being ruined. You don’t take a new believer and make them Bible study teachers and so forth they are in training. Are you with me. Hallelujah a good report away from church and the family as my musicians come a good report. See I got a behave myself when Becky isn’t around.
▶ 1:03:37 She doesn’t know what I’m doing God does. But the people I’m doing things with no and I should have a good report outside of my home outside of the church as well as in my home and in the judge is that an amen anybody can put on a camouflage suit especially in Pentecostal charismatic circles raise their hand and [unclear] and you know get excited and get all emotional worked up and then they walk out that door and fire comes out of their mouth you stupid husband of mine you yeah they put on a camouflage acting like great Christians. No baptist and fundamentalist they’re dead in the home and they’re dead in the church they just stand there that’s just as bad.
▶ 1:04:35 If the Bible says to kneel before their Lord and God a maker is it important your kids see you kneeling. The examples were teachers. America needs us church they need to hear scientific. Bible truth teaching. You cannot denounce these facts these are just common sense things in their right. We need these Bible principles and we need each other the Bible says we come to church to provoke one another to love and to good works I trust this message stirred you up to love your husband and your wife a little better to love your children a little better with more understanding to love your grandchildren if you’re a grandpa like me with a little more understanding and do good.
