Continuing the signs in John, Pastor David G. Kincer asks who sinned when bad things happen: an accidental death, a child crushed by a piano, a pregnant woman hurt in violence, and God’s judgments. He says not every sickness or death is caused by sin, that God loves Christians who got sick and those who didn’t, and ends with David’s repentance and praise offering stopping the death angel.

What did God show Peter and Cornelius?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: That God is not partial; He is concerned about the whole world, and the Holy Spirit fell on the Gentiles who heard the word.

▶ 0:00 All of his household. Who gave alms generously to the people and he prayed to God always he saw clearly in a vision an angel. And the angel said to him your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God now send men to Peter in Joppa and he will tell you what you must do. And so we see here Cornelius was one who was obeying listening to God following God’s word and he had come God had given him a vision God had given him a word. And then we go to Peter. And the scriptures say that Cornelius. The angel said to Cornelius Peter knows and he’ll tell you what to do and Peter did not know at the time what to do.

▶ 0:58 While Peter thought about the vision the spirit he had just received a vision about uh you know what his vision was the the sheet that came down from heaven showing him all the animals and God said to him take eat and he had trouble understanding that vision and he thought about the vision the spirit said and behold three men are coming seeking you arise therefore go down and go with them doubting nothing for I have sent them. And so both men. Didn’t know exactly what was going on. But Peter shows up and he starts to understand. What God is saying in this vision. That God. Is not partial. He is looking at the whole world and he’s concerned about the whole world and he wants to reach the whole world in acts chapter 10 verse 44 says while Peter was still speaking these words the Holy Spirit fell upon those who heard the word and those of the circumcision who believed were astonished as many as came with Peter because the gift.

About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!” And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God. Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter. He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea. He will tell you what you must do.”

Why were the signs written in John?

▶ Watch this part (32:50)

Short answer: So that you may believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and have life in His name; God Himself has to reveal it, not seminaries.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 32:50 We worship you or we exhort. Oh. How great is our God. Lord. Thank you Jesus. I’d like to invite the Pastor Kincer to share God’s word this morning and thank you for joining us good to have everyone today God bless you let’s open up our hearts and hear God’s wonderful word just like mary when she met Jesus at the tomb was ready to hear God’s word amen. Okay we are continuing. Our study of John chapter 20 verse 30.

▶ 33:44 Many other signs miracles did Jesus in the presence of his disciples. Which are not written in this book the gospel of John but these are written in the gospel of John so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ the messiah. The son of God and that by believing that Jesus is the Christ the messiah and the son of God you may have life in his name both abundant life here on earth and eternal life to come. Peter said to Jesus you are the Christ the son of the living God exactly what John. Said. Jesus said flesh and blood has not revealed that to you Peter but my father.

▶ 34:41 In heaven has revealed that to you. Much study going to seminaries and Bible colleges didn’t reveal that to you Peter. God himself revealed that to you and the faith we have comes from God himself. If we just have faith in our faith it’s the wrong faith. If we just have faith in what somebody told us it’s the wrong faith faith comes by hearing the word. And. God has to reveal these things to us and so we’ve been looking at the miracles in John. And today we’re going to continue with the sickness versus sin sign. That God had written in the gospel of John and it answers the questions are deaths and infirmity infirmities caused by sin okay so in this session 12 remember last week.

Do bad things only happen to people who sin?

▶ Watch this part (35:46)

Short answer: No. Everybody thinks that, but Jesus said neither the blind man nor his parents sinned.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 35:46 The blind man was born blind. And they asked Jesus who sinned. This man. I mean how do you sin being born. Or his parents who sin. Because everybody thinks bad things only happen to people that fail that make mistakes and Jesus said neither this man nor his parents sinned. That isn’t why he was born blind and so today we’re going to take a look at some other scriptures. We’re going to ask ourselves who sinned in this scripture the man or his neighbor. In Deuteronomy 19:5 when a man goes to the woods with his neighbor to cut timber and his hand swings a stroke with the axe to cut down a tree and the head slips from the handle and strikes the neighbor so that he dies.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

John 9:2-3 (NKJV)

And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

— John 9:2-3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 35:46 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

Who sinned when the axe head killed a neighbor?

▶ Watch this part (36:50)

Short answer: Nobody; it was an accident. The man who swung the axe was not deserving of death since he had not hated the victim.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 36:50 Okay. Now who sent this man who is swinging the axe or his neighbor that went with him and the one who died. Well the Bible tells us. And 19 verse 6 that this man who swung the axe is not deserving of death not deserving of being punished. Since he had not hated the victim in times past and so we see two things here because the man did not purposely kill the other guy. He is not held accountable for the death but we also see here. That the New Testament scriptures come from the old in the New Testament the Bible says that he that hateth his brother.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Deuteronomy 19:5-6 (NKJV)

as when a man goes to the woods with his neighbor to cut timber, and his hand swings a stroke with the ax to cut down the tree, and the head slips from the handle and strikes his neighbor so that he dies—he shall flee to one of these cities and live; lest the avenger of blood, while his anger is hot, pursue the manslayer and overtake him, because the way is long, and kill him, though he was not deserving of death, since he had not hated the victim in time past.

— Deuteronomy 19:5-6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 36:50
Scripture (NKJV)

1 John 3:15 (NKJV)

Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

What happened with the child crushed by a piano?

▶ Watch this part (37:49)

Short answer: A Catholic priest said the child died because of the mother’s sin; he gave her a scripture that a child is not held accountable for a parent’s sin, and told her it was just an accident.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 37:49 Is a murderer and we know. That murderers do not inherit eternal life. Well where do you think John got that scripture from the Old Testament right here see he didn’t hate his brother it was just an accident the bottom line it was an accident. It just happened. I’m reminded of a story of a mother was having a piano. Moved from her upstairs apartment. And her brother and another friend of his were trying to move this heavy piano. And one of them let go they couldn’t carry it anymore and that piano went running down those stairs.

▶ 38:43 A studio piano just sliding right down the stairs well she had sent her little girl out to play in the courtyard of the apartments and that little girl was at the bottom of the stairs looking. Up at this piano watching these people move and that piano came down those stairs and just crushed. This little lady. The whole upper torso and the head were just crushed by that piano. They took the child to the hospital. I was called in I was the young minister at the time. And I was called in and when I went in there of course the mother was just weeping profusely just. Yeah she had just.

▶ 39:35 There’s no way you could even talk to her all you could do is weep with her and that’s what people were doing just weeping with her and touching her and patting her on the back and just trying to comfort in some way. And so. I talked to the gentleman that was there and I asked to go in and see the child and I went in there and the hospital staff said there’s nothing that can be done you know this child is going to die. I didn’t go in there to play uh apostle Paul or anything I just went in there to observe the situation and I did go in to pray I prayed quietly to myself. While I was observing and this. It’s a horrible thing to see a head flattened.

▶ 40:30 You know and and a torso just crushed it it’s a horrible sight. And so I prayed silently and inward and there was no unction that came there’s a kind of a unction that comes when God wants to do something and there was not it was just time for this child to die that was it and so we went back out. And a Catholic priest had arrived she was a Catholic. And I overheard this priest saying that this little. Child died because of the sin of the mother. Wow. And he was telling other people and I as I began to hear.

▶ 41:24 The gentleman that invited me there. Was. Have an affair with this woman who had divorced. Her previous husband because he went out on her and she had struck up in a relationship with this gentleman who was also. Married. And this priest was just telling it all. And I heard this stuff and I thought wow we. That is not what this lady needs to hear. She is in tremendous torment. And now you’re blaming her for the death of this child.

▶ 42:17 And so. I. Scribbled on a piece of paper out of Ezekiel 18 and [unclear] where this. Child is not held accountable for the sins of a parent and the parents are not held accountable for the sins. Of a child. And that brought. Just the verse you know. Sometimes comforting can’t get through. But the scriptures can. And when she read this. There was a tremendous change. No longer did she feel guilt because she put that child out to play and it was all her fault and because she was having an affair with somebody that it it’s all her fault that this happened now she had hope.

What did the mother know decades later?

▶ Watch this part (43:23)

Short answer: She was ignorant of the Bible’s rules people argue over, but she knew Jesus, repented, and lived with the simplicity of the gospel, and that gets you into eternity.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 43:23 Amen you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free I said lady it was just an accident. That’s all. There is. A strong teaching even in the history. That bad things happen because you did something bad and even in this generation. I met that lady several decades later. And I began to. As you probably know I’m always trying to witness and find out where people are and you know I asked Bible questions to her and she was so ignorant of the Bible. And uh there’s just people that only know the Bible from what people tell them and she was one of them.

▶ 44:18 But in all my question and my conversing with her she knew Jesus she believed Jesus died for her sin she believed she could repent and she did and she didn’t do that adultery anymore and you know she got married and and lived the rest of her life uh with that simplicity. Of the gospel of Jesus Christ and I knew when I was done even though she didn’t know about women can’t have short hair and women can’t wear clothes that are pertained to men and women can’t do this and women can’t do that and we’re not under law we’re under grace and she didn’t know any of this stuff but she knew Jesus who is what the Bible is about from Genesis 1 to Revelation the last verse and that gets you into eternity amen.

Who sinned when a pregnant woman is hurt?

▶ Watch this part (45:21)

Short answer: Not the woman or the baby; those who did the violence were held accountable, life for life. Don’t mess with pregnant women.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 45:21 Hallelujah. Now this next one is a little gross. We’re going to take another look at a scripture and ask who sin. The woman. Or her baby in Exodus 21:18. That is what an aborted baby looks like. It’s not just a massive tissue folks all right. Not just a massive tissue it’s a baby in the womb. In Exodus 21:18 if people fight. And hurt a woman with child. So that her fruit the baby the embryo. Departs from her yet.

▶ 46:14 No harm follows she just had an early delivery. A fine shall be paid according to the woman’s husband and the judges imposed upon him okay the baby’s fine the mother’s fine everything is fine but it they have to pay a fine for their violent act and bringing harm to this woman verse 23 but if any harm follows. Then you shall give life for life if that baby died the ones who inflicted. The violence on that pregnant woman don’t mess with pregnant women I’m telling you God looks at that very sensitively.

▶ 47:08 Am I right yeah don’t mess with them if they want to eat pickles give them pickles. Whatever. You’ll give life for life eye for eye tooth for tooth hand for hand foot for foot burn for burn one for wound. You see it’s a violent act. A violent act and if the baby was okay and the woman was hurt and they knocked out her teeth or whatever they had to pay with their own teeth it’s the same law for slaves. Back there if somebody got into debt they could become a slave or a endited servant to you but if you hurt that slave.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Exodus 21:22-25 (NKJV)

“If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

— Exodus 21:22-25 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 45:21

Is violence a cultural thing?

▶ Watch this part (48:03)

Short answer: He says race problems are not always skin color; tribes, dynasties and nations killed each other, and violence is a horrible crime.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 48:03 If you knocked out his teeth or knocked out his eye then you had to let that slave go free or they knocked your teeth out and your eye out are you with me and nobody can kidnap so you could not take a slave by force in the Bible it was simply you went into debt you made some kind of financial mistake and you needed help and you could. Serve off a number of years to pay off that debt which your employer would do. And so this is a violent act. Okay. In Africa I saw this when I was visiting Africa about 30 years ago while I was there there was a tribe in Africa that hated another tribe.

▶ 48:58 And while I was there they warred with each other. And the real mean tribe that hated the not so mean tribe. If they found a woman pregnant they would cut her. [unclear] open take out the child and kill it right in front of her and then just leave her there. God. Says. That is a horrible crime a violent crime don’t mess with pregnant women can I hear an amen yes and so we also see race problems it’s not always the color of the skin if you read your history. Not only here in Africa did tribes fight tribes and kill each other but when you go to China dynasties fought dynasties and killed each other Japan same thing South America same thing Europe whites fought whites and killed each other you see it’s a cultural thing it’s you may have the same skin color that I do but you might speak a different language and you might have a different way of living in this life so you’re subservient to us and they fight.

Who sinned when war, famine, beasts or plague strike?

▶ Watch this part (50:22)

Short answer: When God sends judgments on His people, only Noah, Daniel and Job would deliver themselves by their righteousness; children can’t be delivered by their parents’ righteousness.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 50:22 And violence is a horrible crime. And so the woman had not sinned nor the baby these people that got angry and fought. In such a manner that they hurt this woman. God held him accountable. Now let’s go to another one. In Ezekiel. We’re going to go to a scripture and ask you who sinned. In these four calamities war. Famine. Wild animals or a plague who sin that they died or were hurt by these things. Or acts of God hurricanes tornadoes.

▶ 51:15 Earthquakes. Who sin. In Ezekiel 14 21 when I send my four severe judgments on Jerusalem. Jerusalem. You see Jerusalem is a shadow city of the heavenly Jerusalem the church. The people of God. And so when I send my four severe judgments on Jerusalem. Not the world here. I will send the sword the famine the wild beast and the plague. And then he tells us this. Only Daniel. Job. And Noah would deliver themselves.

Who was most spiritual in Babylon?

▶ Watch this part (53:55)

Short answer: None; Daniel, the three Hebrews and the fearful Jews were all loved the same, and God brought them all back.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 53:55 Some people won’t take the vaccine some people will some people won’t wear a mask some people will and whatever. Listen. There were four people that came out of Judah into captivity in Babylon named Shadrach Meshach Abednego and Daniel. You remember the story plus thousands of Jews that came with him now. The king made a statue and told everybody to bow down to it well Shadrach Meshach and Abednego wouldn’t bow down. And you know Daniel didn’t bow down either am I right. No Daniel’s not going to bow down to that but God.

▶ 54:48 Delivered Daniel from having to go into the fiery furnace he didn’t have to experience the fiery furnace. Shadrach Meshach and Abednego got thrown into the fiery furnace and got delivered out of the fiery furnace. And then there were thousands of Jews bowing to that idol. In fear of their lives. Remember that three different groups now. We think. Daniel who didn’t have to go into the fiery furnace was the real spiritual one. Or we think the three. Hebrews Shadrach Meshach and Abednego with a real spiritual one boy the Lord appeared in the fire and brought him out. And we think how horrible it is that these Jews were so afraid and didn’t have enough of God in them to not bow to that idol how horrible.

▶ 55:53 Now let’s go again. Another day comes and the king says no one can pray to any God but the king’s got. Well Daniel went home opened his windows and prayed three times a day just like before. Now. They came and got Daniel and threw him in the lion’s den now you know Shadrach Meshach and Abednego. They did the same thing Daniel did they kept praying these were different these were noble men they serve God but this time God delivered those three from heaven to go into the lion’s den and he delivered Daniel out of the lion’s den. And there were thousands of Jews that did not pray.

▶ 56:47 Because they were afraid. Are you getting the picture. Now who’s the most spiritual. None who’s the most loved of God none they’re all love the same how do I know that because when God came to deliver them from the bondage of Babylon. He delivered them all Daniel it’s written Daniel. Went back to Jerusalem he was still alive after 70 years okay Shadrach Meshach and Abednego and all the fearful Jews that didn’t have enough of God to stand in that day God brought them out of bondage and back into the land of promise amen.

Scripture (NKJV)

Daniel 3:1-30 (NKJV)

Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits and its width six cubits. He set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. And King Nebuchadnezzar sent word to gather together the satraps, the administrators, the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the judges, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. So the satraps, the administrators, the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the judges, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces gathered together for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. Then a herald cried aloud: “To you it is commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, that at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, you shall fall down and worship the gold image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up; and whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.” So at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the horn, flute, harp, and lyre, in symphony with all kinds of music, all the people, nations, and languages fell down and worshiped the gold image which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came forward and accused the Jews. They spoke and said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “O king, live forever! You, O king, have made a decree that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, shall fall down and worship the gold image; and whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. There are certain Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego; these men, O king, have not paid due regard to you. They do not serve your gods or worship the gold image which you have set up.” Then Nebuchadnezzar, in rage and fury, gave the command to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. So they brought these men before the king. Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the gold image which I have set up? Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall down and worship the image which I have made, good! But if you do not worship, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?” Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. And he commanded certain mighty men of valor who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, their turbans, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Therefore, because the king’s command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here.” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire. And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them. Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God! Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this.” Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the province of Babylon.

Why did judgment come after David’s census?

▶ Watch this part (58:40)

Short answer: Israel and the elders were guilty too because they didn’t stop David; we are to stand up and speak the truth, not attack or call names.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 58:40 David. In closing. Experienced. This David took a census. Without the census offering. And God gave David three choices. Do you want me to judge. Israel and Israel deserved the judgment and so did the elders because the elders didn’t stop David and the people of God didn’t stop David from doing wrong. You know we’re not just to give in to leaders because they’re leaders we are supposed to know enough of God in his word to say hey this is wrong isn’t that right so don’t get that thinking that God was unjust because he’s bringing death and problems upon the people the people are also guilty because they did not stand up for truth are you with me and church that’s why in America we got to stand up for truth we got to speak out for truth if something is wrong we got to speak it out not attack them and not get personal and call them names just speak the truth could that be an amen just write a little verse like I did to this woman and hand it to her and let the word of God do the rest could that be an amen hallelujah.

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Chronicles 21:1-12 (NKJV)

Now Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel. So David said to Joab and to the leaders of the people, “Go, number Israel from Beersheba to Dan, and bring the number of them to me that I may know it.” And Joab answered, “May the LORD make His people a hundred times more than they are. But, my lord the king, are they not all my lord’s servants? Why then does my lord require this thing? Why should he be a cause of guilt in Israel?” Nevertheless the king’s word prevailed against Joab. Therefore Joab departed and went throughout all Israel and came to Jerusalem. Then Joab gave the sum of the number of the people to David. All Israel had one million one hundred thousand men who drew the sword, and Judah had four hundred and seventy thousand men who drew the sword. But he did not count Levi and Benjamin among them, for the king’s word was abominable to Joab. And God was displeased with this thing; therefore He struck Israel. So David said to God, “I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing; but now, I pray, take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.” Then the LORD spoke to Gad, David’s seer, saying, “Go and tell David, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD: “I offer you three things; choose one of them for yourself, that I may do it to you.” ’ ” So Gad came to David and said to him, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Choose for yourself, either three years of famine, or three months to be defeated by your foes with the sword of your enemies overtaking you, or else for three days the sword of the LORD—the plague in the land, with the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the territory of Israel.’ Now consider what answer I should take back to Him who sent me.”

Who was the death angel?

▶ Watch this part (1:00:08)

Short answer: Satan; God cannot do evil, so when He wants something bad done He allows Satan to do it.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:00:08 So God give David three choices do you want three years of famine three months of war or three days of plagues of the Lord because you sinned here. And David chose the plague so Satan the death angel it was Satan. He was created to destroy. He is the death angel over in Revelation he’s the booger. God can’t do evil so when God wants something bad done. He allows Satan to do it do you understand that God cannot do evil. And he created Satan for the very purpose. Of doing evil.

▶ 1:01:02 There’s no accident that he fell from heaven there was no accident at all God knew everything from what the beginning. To the end does he yeah. But in our minds we try to figure this thing out rationally. So. The angel started in the northern kingdom as it looks like and came down and finally he’s and 70 000 people die from this plague and he’s at Jerusalem guess who’s in Jerusalem. David. Now if this death angel enters the city of Jerusalem David’s a dead duck. Because he’s the one that committed the sin are you there and those elders that were silent. They’re dead ducks for not opposing David when he committed this sin are you with me he got the picture.

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Chronicles 21:15-20 (NKJV)

And God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it. As he was destroying, the LORD looked and relented of the disaster, and said to the angel who was destroying, “It is enough; now restrain your hand.” And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. Then David lifted his eyes and saw the angel of the LORD standing between earth and heaven, having in his hand a drawn sword stretched out over Jerusalem. So David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces. And David said to God, “Was it not I who commanded the people to be numbered? I am the one who has sinned and done evil indeed; but these sheep, what have they done? Let Your hand, I pray, O LORD my God, be against me and my father’s house, but not against Your people that they should be plagued.” Therefore, the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David that David should go and erect an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. So David went up at the word of Gad, which he had spoken in the name of the LORD. Now Ornan turned and saw the angel; and his four sons who were with him hid themselves, but Ornan continued threshing wheat.

The meal offering is a thank offering a praise offering it’s not has nothing to do with your character your failure your mistakes it’s just you come to thank the Lord and to praise him for his marvelous works unto you amen so David is out there and Ornan said I will give you.

▶ 1:03:57 This threshing floor I will give you the animals and I’ll give you the meal offering and David said uh-uh I cannot sacrifice unto the Lord that which cost me nothing. Beautiful story. About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: The service opens with another speaker reading Acts 10, then worship; Pastor Kincer’s message begins at 32:50. He cites “Exodus 21 18” for the passage on a pregnant woman (Exodus 21:22–25) and “Ezekiel 18” for children not bearing parents’ sins (Ezekiel 18:20).
