Pastor David G. Kincer shows that Jesus, the apostles and deacons like Stephen used one combination: go, preach the gospel and heal the sick, moved by compassion. Women who were healed followed Jesus and provided for him. The Lord confirmed the word with signs. Churches that want God working with them need prayer, fasting, the word and praise.

What was the effective combination?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: Go, preach the gospel—not opinions or church doctrine—and heal the sick. Matthew 4:23: Jesus went throughout Galilee teaching, preaching and healing.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:00 And we’re going to be talking about a combination. that Jesus and the apostles used for an effective successful bringing of the people into the kingdom of God this is a very effective and successful combination and number one go you got to go number two when you get to where you’re going you got to preach the gospel not your opinions not some church doctrine but the gospel three. Healing the sick was a tremendous combination that was used in the Bible. We’re gonna start with showing you Jesus used it in Matthew 4:23.

▶ 0:55 Jesus went okay where did he go to his closet. to his backyard and have a glass of lemonade no he went throughout all Galilee. In their synagogues now this takes guts to go into another religions these people did not like Jesus and be among those people the opposition. and he went among the people in Galilee among the peoples of synagogues among the people what did he do when he got there he taught and preached the gospel of the kingdom not the latest book out of the Christian bookstore not the latest cd out of the Christian bookstore he taught the gospel that was written in the scriptures okay and that he was revealing himself then.

What made Jesus different from other religions?

▶ Watch this part (2:04)

Short answer: He preached the gospel of the kingdom, the power of God unto salvation, and healed every sickness. Those who say miracles stopped are wrong; God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 2:04 What made him different from all the others now if you know your Bible you know that there was all kinds of philosophies going around you know that the Romans had their own religion you know that the Greeks [unclear] had their own religion and they teach you the Roman and Greek religion in school but they won’t teach you about Jesus in school they’ll teach you about Zeus and all those guys but they won’t teach you very much about Jesus isn’t that true yeah. They also had a lot of Jewish religions the Jews were broken up like we are today with the Catholics the Protestants and so forth the Jews had a group called the Pharisees another group called the Sadducees another group called the Herodians another group called the Zealots another group called the Grecians because they spoke in Greek you know that’s like the Baptists have 120 different Baptist churches how was Jesus different you had the Stoic philosophy you had Aristotle and Socrates going on at this time how was Jesus different he was different because he preached the gospel of the kingdom which is the power of God unto salvation.

▶ 3:31 The gospel is the power to save you from your sins and give you eternal life that made his philosophy way different than all the rest the second thing he did is he healed all kinds of sicknesses and all kinds of diseases [unclear] they weren’t doing that Socrates wasn’t doing that Zeus wasn’t doing that but Jesus who was God in the flesh healed all kinds of sicknesses and diseases especially the disease of sin remember John the baptist did no miracles he healed nobody but he brought thousands into the kingdom through the gospel message of repentance and water baptism for the remission the cleansing the healing and deliverance of sin do we have that do you young ones understand that okay so that made Jesus totally different and let me say this to you church what’s going to make the church different in our generation the same thing that made Jesus different back here the gospel and the miraculous power to heal people from sin and diseases and these people that tell you the miracle stopped when the apostles died they’re lying to you God is the same yesterday today and what forever.

Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

What moved Jesus?

▶ Watch this part (5:02)

Short answer: Matthew 9:35–36: he saw the multitudes troubled, helpless and scattered like sheep without a shepherd, and was moved with compassion—a fourth element.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 5:02 He’s the same he loves people all right now. in Matthew 9:35 some time goes by Jesus preached for three and a half years some time goes by and we find him Jesus went number one they go to all the cities and villages synagogues among the people and what did he [unclear] when he got there he taught and preached the gospel of the kingdom and healed every sickness and every disease same combination same three-fold cord combination he did all three and then he saw the multitudes the people and he was moved with compassion with love.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 9:35-36 (NKJV)

Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

— Matthew 9:35-36 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:11

What should we pray?

▶ Watch this part (5:54)

Short answer: Matthew 9:37–38: the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few; pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 5:54 Because they were troubled they were having troubles in life and they were helpless to solve them whether they were spiritual problems or whether they were natural problems he saw the multitudes have problems and they were helpless to solve them so he had compassion and they were scattered like sheep with no shepherd and we know that Jesus is the shepherd [unclear] the head of the church is Jesus the head of the nations is Jesus he has the solution for the people now. So a fourth one is added compassion is what moved him to go and to preach and to heal. So he said to his disciples the harvest the people the multitude with troubles helplessness and scattered it is plentiful but the laborers the preachers and teachers of the gospel.

▶ 6:57 Are few so he said to his followers for this reason pray now pray just means to ask God petition God it doesn’t mean you got to beat yourself [unclear] just talking to God like we talk to each other. Got it. There’s no magical answer in the volume or the drama the answer is you talk to God and say God. Lord that’s Jesus Lord send laborers into your harvest. Alleluia let’s just say that Lord send laborers into your harvest and the laborer is what one that preaches and teaches the gospel not their opinions not their church doctrines not the latest book out of the Christian bookstore Mark

What happened when people came to Jesus?

▶ Watch this part (8:06)

Short answer: Mark 6:31–34 and Matthew 14:14: they outran him; moved with compassion, he taught them many things, healed their sick and fed 5,000.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 8:06 6:31 and Matthew 14:14 same story same account just together they shine the whole light Jesus said to the apostles come apart into a desert place and rest for a while for they had no leisure [unclear] so much as to eat and God gave us one day of rest how many like leisure time the rest of you are lying through your teeth we love leisure time we drag ourselves to work but we are excited about Saturday. So leisure is Bible need to rest your body rest your mind the people saw them departing and outran them from all the cities. They went out and got there before Jesus arrived and the scripture says they came to him now here we have the reverse instead of Jesus going they are coming.

▶ 9:09 Wouldn’t you like to be a church where people come because they’re curious from what they’ve heard going on yes that’s how powerful the gospel is so we have the reverse here they’re coming to Christ Jesus here it is again moved with what compassion with love do we love anybody outside our little cliques our little circles do we care for the people out there with problems that they’re helpless to solve. See they were moved with love and compassion they were a sheep without a shepherd helpless in trouble and could not get an answer so what did Jesus do he taught them many things he taught them the gospel remember the gospel is the gospel of Jesus Christ the gospel of the kingdom the gospel of God the gospel of grace the gospel of righteousness are you there and it’s a gospel with many exhortation and so he’s teaching them the many things of the gospel.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Mark 6:31-34 (NKJV)

And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves. But the multitudes saw them departing, and many knew Him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to Him. And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.

Who supported Jesus’ ministry?

▶ Watch this part (10:21)

Short answer: Luke 8:1–3: Mary Magdalene, Joanna wife of Herod’s steward, Susanna and many women, healed and delivered, followed and provided from their substance.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 10:21 All right and he healed their sick and here he did something special he fed 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish you can’t do that but he multiplied it he just multiplied and gave them food. Amen the three fold combination go preach the gospel heal and meet [unclear] people’s needs miraculously all right we’re going to also find it’s a very inexpensive method. Doesn’t cost a lot of money to do what they’re doing in Luke 8:1 through 3 Jesus went to every city and village there’s the goal he preached the glad tidings the word gospel means good news glad tidings message okay word.

▶ 11:17 [unclear] that’s what the gospel means and he brought the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. Certain women. women if I could have your attention. And you men better be listening to this. Certain women healed of evil spirits Jesus cast the devils out of them the demons out of them and healed their sicknesses these women. Followed Jesus remember in our past session we talked about we got to deny ourselves pick up our cross daily and follow him these women were living that they were following Jesus. After they were healed after the demons were cast out I have seen a number of people that God healed miraculously and they go back to sin they did not follow Jesus.

▶ 12:24 But these women follow Jesus they were doing what Jesus asked them to do. They didn’t stop after getting saved they didn’t stop after getting healed after their troubles were solved they didn’t stop following Christ and. he names them Mary Magdalene [unclear] whom he cast seven demons out of that’s a lot of demons. Joanna the wife of Herod’s steward a steward is the one that manages the household of someone else so this guy had a high responsibility in the local government in the kingdom a very high responsibility and his wife was a follower of Jesus amen politics do not have to keep us from following Jesus does it.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 8:1-3 (NKJV)

Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.

— Luke 8:1-3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:21

Can women be used of God?

▶ Watch this part (13:22)

Short answer: Yes. Churches that remove women eliminate half the members God wants to use. In Christ there is neither male nor female.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 13:22 and Susanna and many other women many of the women were following Jesus and provided for Jesus and ministered to Jesus from their substance they brought him food they washed his clothes. They found a place for him and his apostles to sleep at night they ministered to Jesus. And for these churches that want to remove women from being a part in the kingdom of God and being able to preach the gospel and teach the gospel are very wrong. You’re eliminating half of the membership that God wants to use.

▶ 14:19 are you there because we’ve heard [unclear] they’ll say well God chose twelve apostles yes he did and they were all males yes he did he had to fulfill the shadow laws you understand that and only males could be leaders in the Jewish religion because God is a male and God’s son is a male and the church is a female so the shadow law and the allegory [unclear] are you with me. But let me tell you something the Pharisees the Sadducees the Zealots. they were all run by men did Jesus honor those groups no so you’re a man and [unclear] men [unclear] can only lead you didn’t do a very good job.

▶ 15:19 is that amen. because [unclear] men I get to be an apostle because I’m a [unclear] I get to be an [unclear] no you don’t get to be anything unless God selects you. You’re nothing because you’re a male. In Christ Jesus there’s neither male nor female bond nor free slave and the free people rich or poor in Christ Jesus we’re all what equal. Can I hear an amen women. You can be used of God to minister to Christ hallelujah. Hallelujah now men. listen the reason these women could do this Herod’s

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Galatians 3:28 (NKJV)

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

— Galatians 3:28 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 15:40 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

Why could the women follow when husbands couldn’t?

▶ Watch this part (16:11)

Short answer: The steward had a job; Joanna shared what her husband earned. Wise women ran their households and could follow Jesus.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 16:11 steward had a job to do he couldn’t just not show up for work are you there he had to work he couldn’t be following Jesus all over the place and feed them and giving donations he had a job to do and the substance that Joanna shared with Christ was the substance that the husband brought home from working. Are you there so don’t get down on us men because we got a job to do and the women that are wise yes they can clean that house and they can get the clothes washed and they can cook several meals ahead of time the Jews did it all the time on Friday they cook enough meals for Saturday you understand that so these women got their act together they got all their household stuff done and that’s the woman’s responsibility back then they were the leader and the guide of a home the household and so they could gather up their kids who had to obey mom and go follow Jesus.

How did the apostles live?

▶ Watch this part (17:23)

Short answer: No private jets, penthouses or mansions—just food, clothing and shelter. There were no scandals, no compromise for crowds and no heresy.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 17:23 But their husbands couldn’t if they had flocks if they had a garden and all that to take care of they had to work are you with me so the only time they [unclear] when they were done working. Amen men so don’t be jumping on us men because we got to do our job and serve Christ and women have more time when [unclear] the household is [unclear] where the man works and the woman takes care of the house in America today the man works and the woman works and a woman takes care of the house with the help of the man. amen isn’t that enlightening yes don’t bother the women they didn’t have private jets to fly around in like evangelists and ministers do today they didn’t stay in penthouse hotels they stayed in homes or they slept on the ground they didn’t have extravagant clothes cars or chariots for that matter mansions they didn’t have any mansions or you know 14 bedroom mansions to live in and they didn’t wear a costly jewelry they simply were provided food clothing and shelter by these women who followed and ministered to them.

▶ 18:47 Amen. We’ve come a long way from that you got Copeland and [unclear] Dollar and all these guys you know [unclear] serve God God’s going to prosper you the apostles and Jesus did not give us that example. Getting the message out was very inexpensive. Hallelujah and the internet’s very inexpensive [unclear] great way to get the gospel out now also you notice there’s no scandals though these twelve apostles and Jesus were ministered to by women there were never any. Sexual problems amongst their group no scandals it was all aboveboard can I hear an amen [unclear] you’ve heard the message to go and preach the gospel and do healings and God is with you and you just don’t do those things.

▶ 19:52 Isn’t that powerful no scandals not one all through the New Testament not one scandal not one minister had a nervous breakdown not one minister except. Mark he left preaching the gospel for a short period of time and came back right. No one quit no one gave up why there’s power young people there’s power in the gospel and it’s power in Jesus it’s not a religion it’s a reality. So they never preached heresy they preached the gospel and they never compromise the word of God to get a crowd they did not compromise. they didn’t approve of abortion to get a crowd they didn’t approve of homosexuality and transgender sex and bisexuality and all that to get a crowd they never compromise not once in the New Testament do you read where they compromised and let me tell you if they had [unclear] the local news would have got on to it really quick and we would have known in history that these guys were phonies a combination of going and preaching the gospel and healing the sick.

How did the Lord confirm the word?

▶ Watch this part (21:11)

Short answer: Luke 9:6; Mark 16:15–20: the apostles preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, confirming the word—not the men—with signs following.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 21:11 Very inexpensive doesn’t take a lot of money the apostles use this effective successful combination in Luke chapter 9 verse 6 the twelve apostles departed and went through the town preaching the gospel and healing everywhere same formula three-step message of combination Mark 16:15 go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature Jesus told them these signs shall follow them that believe are you a believer this morning ok these signs follow you not some anointed saint anointed woman of God or man of God these signs follow believers. In my name they will cast out demons. They will speak in new languages and they will lay hands on the sick and the sick shall recover okay then Jesus was called up to heaven he ascended unto heaven.

▶ 22:14 They can’t lean on him anymore they can’t run to Jesus in person anymore he’s gone and we gotta quit leaning on ministries and lean on Jesus who says believers can preach the gospel and be used of God. Is that an amen maybe you don’t want to be used maybe you just [unclear] the leader do it all God doesn’t work that way he doesn’t like that setup are you with me he wants his church to be involved so he’s at the right hand of the father if you went up there to heaven today you would see God in the flesh sitting on the throne beside God the father okay now. the twelve apostles went out and preached everywhere they went they preached.

▶ 23:08 This is very important they went everywhere the Lord working with [unclear] in your Bible this is in italics anything in italics is not in the original it is added for clarification the Lord worked with the twelve apostles or if you take the context of this sentence the Lord worked with the word confirming the word not confirming the apostles not endorsing the apostles not approving the apostles were men of God the Lord worked with the word to endorse and prove that the gospel was the word of God you got that. and that’s the logos word the written word that was revealed to a prophet that wrote it down that logos written word is very important and you got to believe it above your experience you got to believe it above.

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

— Mark 16:15-20 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 21:31

Did deacons use the combination too?

▶ Watch this part (24:14)

Short answer: Acts 5:42–6:7: they taught and preached Jesus in every house; the word of God increased—caused growth—and a great company of priests obeyed the faith.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 24:14 Your understanding of it. And they had signs following the three steps they went they preached and the Lord worked with them proving the word endorsing the word with miracles and healings how many would like to see that today yes we got to get our mind set on the Bible you’re very important to the rest of the world when you accept Christ in Acts 5:42 we find that even deacons those [unclear] that ministered about the domestic things of the church the feeding of the poor the cleaning the house of God cleanliness [unclear] doing the books teaching and children and children’s church teachings children in an academic school all these things maintenance all these things that’s what a deacon does but in the churches today deacon is just a title it’s not a job description but a.

▶ 25:17 Deacon in the Bible is a job description and you had to qualify to be a deacon in the Bible you they didn’t vote you in you had to qualify you had to have [unclear] characteristics to handle it so we’re gonna find that deacons use this same three fold combination in the temple the last part of Acts 5:42 and in every house the apostles didn’t stop teaching and preaching Jesus is the Christ the word preaching here is gospel it’s the same word for gospel. All right. So they kept preaching the gospel then it goes on in chapter 6 verse 1 the word the logos the word of God increased this word increase is only used two times in the New Testament and it means cause to grow.

▶ 26:16 it’s the same word in 1st Peter 2:2 desire the sincere milk of the word that you might grow thereby the word will cause you to grow. Amen only used twice now. The word of God increased it caused those who were following to grow they didn’t just stop at salvation they grew into strong minded strong believers of Jesus Christ. Are we lacking growth in America absolutely we are and why because of the lack of the gospel being preached American Christians fall apart when a crisis comes they don’t have answers for people in trouble. It’s the lack of getting into that Bible themself and going to Bible studies where it’s really taught because that word that logos word will cause you to grow.

▶ 27:19 amen isn’t that what it says yeah these are the sincere milk of the word the baby food so you can grow then you go on the child food then you go on to young adult food and then you go in to mature food scriptures all right now the disciples multiplied greatly now remember we told you there’s two miracles above every other thing the miracle of salvation being saved from [unclear] and how God can come and touch Dave Kincer in the middle of his life and draw him to himself convict him of sin and get him to confess his sin and accept Jesus Christ as his savior and live in his life and cleanse him and deliver him from sin is a flat-out miracle I had other plans I mean man I was [unclear] even though I was raised in church boy you know I had my agenda and God has the power to stop you in the middle of your agenda turn you to him and save you that is a flat-out miracle would you agree the second one is he has the power to finish the good work he began in you and make you a new creature where the old things of sin is and all the new things of righteousness are in your life.

▶ 28:46 Alleluia and that’s what these women were they were followers a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith the same priests that accused Jesus and had him crucified now are coming to the kingdom. isn’t that something. these same priests now are getting saved and following Christ so no matter how bad you were before what matters now is the new creature you are alleluia and don’t ever give up on anyone those that blaspheme today can be solid followers tomorrow through the power of the gospel your children who rejected Christ

What qualified Stephen?

▶ Watch this part (29:42)

Short answer: A good report, wisdom and the Holy Ghost, full of faith and power. Willing to serve tables, he did signs and wonders—not a pastor or apostle.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 29:42 Can still be brought to Christ by the power of the gospel not by you trying to keep [unclear] in the home the power of a gospel is what’s going to save people and keep them saved can I hear an amen alright. now we come to the deacon Stephen he was a deacon he was called in because he had a good report and he had wisdom and he was filled with the Holy Ghost three requirements to be a deacon you show me one church that has deacons that has this as the requirement I’ve preached in all the churches and they don’t have this requirement there are simply people they put in to do domestic things and they call them deacons.

▶ 30:33 Are you there so there was problems in the serving of the poor of food and handling the poor so the apostle said we need someone that’s got wisdom that’s filled with the Holy Ghost that has a good report out there they’re not drinkers and drug takers and all this stuff they have a good report we will set them over this area and solve this problem isn’t that beautiful so Stephen was one of them he was not a prophet he was not an apostle he was not a teacher we’re talking about the office of a teacher the office of a pastor the office of an evangelist he was none of those he was just a follower of Christ filled with wisdom filled with the Holy Ghost and had a good report and he was filled with faith and he was filled with power. What who needs to be an apostle if he got all that huh and he was willing to serve tables he was willing to minister the food to the needy for the church and clean toilets and vacuum rugs and whatever needed to be done [unclear] Stephen was willing to do that.

▶ 31:47 That sure is a big difference when you go into a church like I’ve been in and when the pastor comes in they carry his Bible and he comes walking in with a big pomp parade the man of God syndrome and all this stuff and they try to carry my Bible now I said uh-uh I carry my own Bible I don’t deserve any special attention at all are you with me you just don’t do that anyway. This deacon preached the gospel went to the people and had signs and miracles following and folks that’s what it said in mark these signs shall follow them that believe if you are a believer God can use you.

What does it take for God to work with a church?

▶ Watch this part (32:39)

Short answer: Prayer, fasting and the word. Mark 9:29: this kind comes out only by prayer and fasting. Acts 12:5: the church prayed and Peter was freed.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 32:39 now let’s talk about prayer fasting and the gospel. The things you don’t like to talk about. How many would like to see the church every church have God working with them and people coming to them because they heard that God is in them I tell you I desire that I cry out for that. It’s gonna take prayer fasting and the word the gospel not your opinions not your feelings not what somebody’s told you about their church doctrines you’ve got to stick to the gospel. Now.

▶ 33:32 Mark 9:29 this kind of demons devils come out by nothing but by what prayer and fasting you got to go without some food for a period of time you got to show that you care how many could use a little less food anyway yeah yeah I mean oh we got enough fat to live on for a while yeah and consume some of that fat. When I was a young Christian in church and I preached fasting I was rebuked by the watchdogs of the church you know fasting is not healthy it’s gonna hurt people I said it can’t [unclear] God asks us to fast he’s not gonna ask us to do anything [unclear] gonna hurt us I don’t care what you’re reading in your books. amen and now they’re saying fasting is healthy all right every time I get every time I get a physical with a blood report they come back and say you fast a lot now I don’t understand how they know that by reading the blood but every time they say you fast a lot I

▶ 34:45 Can’t deny it’s true but I also eat a lot. I’ll make up for that fasting. So do we want to see demons cast out of people then we got to what pray and fast and what’s prayer talking to God. Petitioning God asking God talking to God Acts 12:5 Peter was kept in prison they were going to execute him the next day cut off his head but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the apostles by the prophets by the evangelists you know send in your prayer to me and I’ll go to the prayer tower amen I’ll get the answer for you didn’t happen here did it.

Does God test our faith before healing?

▶ Watch this part (35:37)

Short answer: No. The widow and her dead son had zero faith; he is moved with compassion. Jesus did the Father’s will. Acts 6:4: give ourselves to prayer and the word.

▶ 35:37 Prayer was made consistently by the church. The body of Christ people like you and guess what an angel came and released Peter from prison miraculously and when he come to the door where they were praying and said I’m Peter they shut the door went back to the prayer group and said peters at the door it can’t be Peter we’re praying for him he’s in prison. so Peter kept knocking this time somebody else went to the door and says it’s Peter it’s really Peter see if you think [unclear] you got to have this faith [unclear] you got to have faith [unclear] how much faith did the widow woman have for her boy that was dead.

▶ 36:36 zero how much faith did the boy have zero how much faith did these ten lepers have to get healed how many of them came back and thanked Jesus one. God is not scrutinizing your life whether you [unclear] meet the standard to be healed or touched. He just loves you he’s moved with what compassion in any state you are in and don’t get this thing in your head that I gotta believe I gotta believe in the reason I don’t have anything because I don’t believe that’s a lie preached by the faith camp. Are you there I had to work through that one I’ve worked through all these camps. [unclear] the Bible says Jesus only did the will of the father.

▶ 37:35 He only healed what the father told him to heal and we didn’t learn that in [unclear] and charismatic circles at all and they certainly didn’t learn it in non charismatic and Pentecostal circles [unclear] believe these things go on [unclear] are you with me. Now. Acts 6:4 the 12 apostles said we will give ourselves continually to what prayer and the ministry of the logos word the written word the word that was revealed to the prophets and Jesus Christ we got to stand on it all right we got the prophesy [unclear] the word of wisdom the word of knowledge word of Revelation tongues and interpretation is still for today.

What does Isaiah 62 call us to do?

▶ Watch this part (38:26)

Short answer: Watchmen who never hold their peace and give the Lord no rest until he makes Jerusalem—the church—a praise. Every believer, young or old, can be used.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 38:26 Just because some people shipwreck these things does not mean we cannot move in them is that true absolutely we don’t have to follow the mistakes of people we follow the truths of the Bible Isaiah is going to hit it very directly all right I have set watchmen on your walls O Jerusalem now we showed you that the heavenly Jerusalem is the church the body of Christ it’s you okay I’ve set watchmen upon the walls church they will never hold their peace day or night now go back with me with your imagination to Bible times they had a little village with a wall around it so that the people outside could run in there when invaders come and robbers come and so forth and they could shut the gate and they could be protected and so they would set people strategically on that wall and these.

▶ 39:29 Watchmen were there to watch for any army coming or any band of robbers or whatever and they were there day and night rotated and they would sound the alarm they would not be silent when the enemy came to rob them are you with me but not only could they see outside the wall they could see inside the wall and if a thief came inside the wall a ravenous wolf came inside the wall trying to fleece the people and rob the people they saw that too and they sounded the alarm. We got problems inside the city. Ok you got the picture they were very important. Now watch how Isaiah turns it around.

▶ 40:22 You who make mention of the Lord don’t keep silent how many of you believe in Jesus Christ. Ok. Don’t keep silent. what is he saying don’t keep [unclear] ladies are you with me back there ok what’s he mean don’t keep silent he doesn’t mean to talk in service. give him no rest [unclear] give the Lord Jesus no rest. Until he establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth makes the church a praise in the earth and how did he do that by working with them.

▶ 41:16 Endorsing proving the word with signs following. Do you see that church do you young ones see that there’s a very important thing so you are important you don’t come to church just to be a fan in the stands and be entertained you come to be a part and this is where prayer fasting and studying the word and reading the word is important. Are you with me when you speak you got to have something to say and to get something to say you got to be in the Bible we got to act on the gospel above our level of growth our level of understanding and our level of experience I had to learn that as a young Christian that the Bible said that Jesus would send prophets apostles teachers and wise men I had to believe it whether I saw them or not whether experienced it or not and because I stood on that that they were for today I did finally meet two men that were really apostles that was back in the 60s I haven’t met any today I

▶ 42:34 Actually met a couple of men who were real prophets they could predict what was going to happen they actually predicted and it happened and they brought a sign with it I seen it myself over and over and then I saw the imitators come and try to imitate them you can’t imitate this either it’s given to you or it’s not [unclear] with me he said I’ll pour out my spirit on all flesh and I will send times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord we got to believe that whether we’re experiencing it or not whether we understand it or not we got to stand on it could that be an amen and when we share the gospel we share what we can’t even see yet we share what we haven’t experienced yet because it’s the gospel. Are you with me.

▶ 43:26 And that’s what’s going to make the difference when we stand on the gospel and gospel alone God will come and work with us and save people and deliver them from their troubles to think God only uses gifted saints limits God to think that God can only use men limits God to think that God can only use thirty-year-olds limits God David was 15 years old when he was used of God Timothy was a young man when he was used of God Daniel was a young man when he was used of God [unclear] you think you can be used of God without any praying without any fasting without getting into the word without getting into Bible studies without praising God without worshiping God without paying your tithes tithes are important because it stills the enemy and the avenger it rebukes him and it’s important because Jesus said if you’re not faithful in the little thing how am I going to give you responsibility in the important thing that’s how important tithes are if you can’t trust God with 10 cents out of a dollar how you think you’re going to be used of God.

▶ 44:54 If you can’t take time through the week to pray and talk to God and take time to read his word and study his word and get into Bible studies. How you going to be used of God there has to be a responsibility on our part if we want demons to be cast out we got to pray and fast if we want people delivered from trouble like Peter we got to pray are you with me if we want the gospel to go out we got to learn it we got to know it and we got to speak it not our opinions or not our level of growth are you with me see the key is are you willing to humble yourself and do these things he said I would that men everywhere lift up holy hands without wrath or doubting are you too proud or

▶ 45:51 Uncompassionate for others that you won’t use a spiritual tool of lifting your hands and worshipping and praising God. this is how God taught me I can’t be on the sidelines watching I got to be involved I’ve been in services where the worship team had the right songs had prayer [unclear] right but the congregation did not prepare themselves and the worship was dead simply because the congregation didn’t come in prepared to enter into the presence of God and I’ve seen the opposite the congregation comes in expecting God to move [unclear] to move into God and the worship team picks songs of the latest Christian hit parade or what they heard on the way to work that week and has nothing to do with what the spirit wants to say to the church are you there see that’s how important everything is worship isn’t a prep time worship is a ministry time the question is what kind of church do we want to be.

▶ 47:06 That’s the question do we want to be a church. Where God is working with us to save people and deliver them from their troubles. You agree do we choose what we’re going to be and if we’re gonna choose to be a church that God works with and confirms the word. Endorses the word proves the word then we’ve got to put some time in to the spiritual principles of praying fasting. Studying and reading the word and sharing it with others don’t back down when you have a gospel answer but I got to be a worshiper I got to be a praiser Jerusalem was not moved Jesus had been to Jerusalem many times but at the end of his ministry he came into Jerusalem and the people praised him they put [unclear] palm [unclear] and waved they took their coats off and they put them in front of Jesus and they were praising Jesus and Jesus.

▶ 48:23 Had visited Jerusalem many times but this time because the people praised him the Bible says Jerusalem was moved. are you there church praise is a principle of power do we need [unclear] moved yes praise and worship is part of that prayer is part of that these are spiritual principles. The same compassion. That we claim to have for people is the same compassion that moves us to fast and pray and get into the word and worship and pay our tithes are you with me it’s the same love that moves us and I don’t know about you I needed a compelling I needed something to move me out of my timidity out of my doubts and my fears how about you yeah I needed to be moved and that love will move you to do these things and we can see God touch people’s lives.

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: Points to check: “120 different Baptist churches”; “David was 15 years old when he was used of God” (43:40); met two real apostles in the 1960s. Sensitive content kept as spoken: those who say miracles stopped are “lying to you”; “God is a male”; churches that remove women from ministry “are very wrong”; Copeland and Dollar named as prosperity preachers (18:47); “not one minister had a nervous breakdown”; no compromise on abortion, homosexuality or transgender issues; the “faith camp” teaching called “a lie” (37:00).
